I am going to have to respectfully disagree, for these reasons. First of all the NBC crew put up the specific rule that it needed to be a distinct kicking motion which is was not. I see the forward motion that you are talking about but in my opinion it is because of two things. First of all rachunek is falling as he skates in conflicting with the defender. Second of all he has to break or else he goes flying right into the net. These two reasons account for that forward motion. A kicking motion usually involves other leg motion, and there was none on this situation. Also the fact that if you look at it from all other angles, I think it would be pretty evident that it should have been a goal.

i think putting aside the obvious offensive blitzes that the sharks have put on early, detroit has completely dominated the offensive play, as you notice after the sharks get those 2 goals, their shots on goal is in the realm of 3-5...which isnt going to get them anything

honestly dude stop posting this...it makes no sense, youre assuming that because detroit had to rally back they have nothign left in them? i would argue the exact opposite, they rallied back, noticed they could do this and will show up at your little goldfish tank with a lot more confidence than they showed at home, im predicting a split, even possibly taking 2 games out of the tank

Yeah, Id have to agree that one of the california teams going through to the stanley cup finals would be the best thing for the NHL. On the eastern side, I think the rangers would be the best bet, but again i highly doubt we'll see the rangers.

Excellent post! You have said it best, I dont think either team has really shown up in its full power yet. Wings blowing it early, sharks not being able to finish to some degree. As a wings fan I am obviously biased hoping that we can take 1 if not 2 games at the shark and not let this series go too long, but i realize that is extremely demanding and optimistic. We shall see I guess, I would also, speaking for myself of course, welcome you to continue posting here even beyond this series as you constantly provide a fresh opposition view!
