I have to say this is the worst officiated game I have watched in a long time. Just plain awful. The refs need to be held accountable for the way they screwed up this game.

Wings won't ever go for a top goalie...thats not how it works...they will go for a top d-man. They know they can win without the best goalie. When Lidstrom does finally hang them up (which is who knows when) they will go out and try to get the best d-man in the league for the value. I'm not worried, I am just sad thinking about the team without Lidstrom...possibly the greatest 2 way defenseman of all time. -

to be honest, I think if it is going to cost them a game down the road, and they are both suffering from injuries anyway, have them sit and rest a game. I completely disagree with Bettman (as always) but there is no point in receiving an actually suspension over one game. Besides, we need to prove we can win a game or two without them.

I understand having them in TB and Atlanta where no one cares aboot hockey so they have to get men there by having smokin girls barely dressed, but its sad that places where hockey has been a staple for a while needs to use these girls to bring in fans. Also it appears to just be an annoyance to goalies...They apparently protect their crease against anyone!

i can't believe ******-nozzle lemieux is back....and now with our biggest competative rival...yet again. I hope McCarty can be healthy for any future meetings with the Sharks...I'd love another turtle episode!

I wish people would stop with the ridiculous ideas of us spending tons of money on a goalie! It WONT happen. We spend money on Defense. That way we don't need the ridiculously expensive goalie to come in only to lose because we cant spend any money on defense.

I am actually worried about Chicago. I know we have beaten them all 4 times thus far, but they seem like a team that is only getting better. I have a feeling they will be fighting for division titles with the Wings for a few years to come.

I don't really see the wings having attendance problems....maybe in the eyes of Detroit fans who are used to 10 years of sellouts, but they are stilll selling 95% of the seats. Not bad for having the worst economy in the nation.

I just like the fact that the wings keep winning with Goalies that cost 2 Million or less every year while most teams are shelling out 5-6 million for a goalie and just aren't getting done. They have a great system in place where defensive play comes first and as long as that stays we don't need a premiere goalie, because, well our defense makes our goalies premiere.
