It was Quincey that left his position and was on the wrong side of the D-pair. Lilja was covering for him. Big save Howie...He is big and that is something Wings goalies usually dont have. Hasek is tall but tiny and looks small compared to Howie despite being taller, and Ozzie looks like he is from Munchkin land next to Howie... But yeah, his size definately makes me like him a lot. Hope to see him finish the year in GR strong

The Wings are also without 2 of their best 3 defenseman and a top 6 forward.... But yes they need some depth...I dont see the need for a system depleeting trade for a renty but they definatly need depth.... BTW I am just as deflated as the Wings right now...

Is that a yes to all loo? Ozzie is going through what Dom did early in the season. He'll pull out of it. They are both good goalies. From what it SOUNDS like (again havent seen tonights game) the whole team needs to step up and missing Rafi and Kronner is hurting bad. Cleary as well.

He hasn't been given a chance to be yet. The guy needs to actually prove he can't play in the NHL before that is what people make his career potential. I have been impressed with his play while Kronner has been out. And in terms of career potential. Tsn.ca That is all I feel he is too, but a team that spends 17 million on its top 3 defenseman needs number 5 or 6 defenseman that play for not much money. Meech could become a solid 3rd pair defenseman, and I don't think that 18 games is a fair judge of whether or not a 23 year old is destined to spend his career in the AHL. Its not prelockout anymore a team cant carry 6 topnotch defenseman. To pay Lids Rafi Dats and Zetterberg the Wings will ALWAYS have filler players on the roster, the other option is to let some of those guys go. What's your choice? Edited for Clarity

By buyers I hope you mean trading Fedorov to Detroit...I have been dreaming of that since the season started...don't let it die yet. Anywho.... The Habs may be a small buyer and I don't think I saw them on the list. It is possible they will make a couple minor moves to sure up their depth and physical play.

I think that Meech has done nothing to warrant criticism in his time here. In very few games played he has stayed in game shape, and been ready to play with these injuries, not only that, he hasn't made any HUGE mistakes that Ive seen. Its his first year and he is young, and is barely playing. Give him a chance before you condemn his career to the AHL

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, this board is ridiculous about goaltending. I think that we all need to go on the new NBC show, My Dad's Better Than Your Dad, but as My Goalie is Better than Your Goalie, and settle this once and for all.... Or we can support Ozzie AND Dom....because they are both having great seasons....

I 100& agree with you here. Meech has been playing well while he has been in, especially considering he has barey played this year, and is still in game shape. Too often on these boards if a defenseman isn't a big hitter or an offensive force he is chalked up to being bad. The same happens to Lebda, and even to a forward in Draper. These players are not big hitters, and they are not offensive, but they are all really solid on defence, and in terms of Meech as long as he is playing solid defense, he is doing his job as a DEFENCEman....

Get better Dom. At least we have Ozzie to fill in while Dom is out.

I 100% want to face these assholes in the playoffs. It isn't a true victory if we don't take their goofy asses out.

And that is why Downey is expendable in my opinion he tends to fight when it isn't necessary and he doesn't when the team needs it.
