    Osgood

Oz is a good enough goalie to be given some sort of credit though, I don't know if he is HHOF worthy, but he is one of the best ever in Detroit. He is second to only Sawchuck in many wings records, I'll pull up facts later with links but i have work, and has 6 30 win seasons on 3 different teams. He isnt the greatest goalie in the league. ANd he can't single handidly win the cup like brodeur, but he always has and still could be a solid #1 in the league.

4/5 GDT: Red Wings @ Blackhawks

I don't really care...no such thing as shootouts starting next Wednesday...AND we won the Division... Would have been nice to win, and the Sabres will probably win the Presidents Trophy...BUT that is a fall back trophy anyways...we need to get the real thing now... GO WINGS GO...win the Stanley...

Islanders' Ice Girls claim abuse by Rangers

I play goal and the ice shavings are good for when i miss the puck, allowing me to reach back and get it before it is in the non-blue area....I wouldn't want them to take away my edge either...

    Ovechkin

I really hope that Ovechkin gets it, this guy has become one of my favorite players in the league. He is just as talented as Crosby and at least 5x as more mature. He is a real character too. I really loved what he did at the all-star game, when he ate the chips that that women brought him. And then the commercial for MyNHL, when he orders all of the food and puts it under Crosby's name. They remind me of the Fedorov commercials in the '90's He is a new breed of Russian player, and he and Crosby are both the future of the league, only differene is I like Ovechkin. Good luck Alex.

    Bert: A Wing next season?

I would love to have Bert back but only for the right price. I think that re-signing Datsyuk is a higher priority than Bert right now and Schneider is somebody I would love to have back. So I would say that if the money is right after bringing those 2 guys back, AND it leaves enough room to re-sign Z when he is a UFA then 100%.

    Me eating my crow

Back in the beginning of the season, Hasek had a bad game, and since I don't really like him that much, I went a little crazy on the anti-Hasek rants I am so used to making. Since then Dom has done nothing but earn some respect for me. I have never denied that he is good, just stated that I don't like his style of play and think it harms him at times. BUT he has eliminated the un-needed flop arounds that were more prevelant early in his career. He has also acted much more mature this year. He has taken some criticism by Babcock and not been affected by it, and stood behind the call to use Ozzie in Nashville. He has respected the coaching staff, been responsible with his health, and eliminated his negative attitude that he had back when he was in Buffalo. Dom you have earned some respect from me, I still am not a huge fan, but I respect you more now. And Puckloo, you were right to call me out at the time...Dom is not the same player he was when I hated him back in Buffalo...and he definatly is not the same person... Again I say, I'm still no Hasek fan, but I'm not a Hasek hatter anymore.

Unusual amount of Playoff tickets still remain

Again...can they donate some to me...But I agree with an earlier post, it is hard to but tickets if you are out of town, without knowing when the game will be...

ESPN: "Slim Chance" Hank back before playoffs

I think that even if he could it is better for him to take the extra time off. Chicago has some big checkers, and if he tweaks his back again its done for the playoffs, I'd rather he take the next week off, and show a little rust in game 1 then risk it and not be able to play at all.

    Me eating my crow

oops, meant hater... And I agree with the fact that he does still need to stay in the crease more often, but everybody has a few soft spots. oops, meant hater... And I agree with the fact that he does still need to stay in the crease more often, but everybody has a few soft spots.

    Me eating my crow

Yeah well I was on a Tigers board, and Maggs made a few bad plays today and everybody started flipping out saying Maggs wasn't worth s***, and I was like man why be so negative on a guy like that for a few bad plays, and then I realized I did the same, and realized that I shouldn't have. Isn't that part of having people respect your opinons, admitting when you were wrong? Don't get me wrong Oz is still #1 in my heart, and I do still think that he could be the #1 goalie here next year, and I think he deserves the shot....BUT Hasek is the clear #1 right now on the team, and he has earned my respect, and from all the negative things I have said about the guy, I deserve to give him some credit where credit is due

    Maltby ?

I love Malts, but the time has come for he to depart I think...

What should lines be when all are back

When everyone is healthy I think that Babcock should leave the Hudler-Lang-Calder line together... I think that: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Hudler-Lang-Calder Cleary-Filpulla-Sammy Franzen-Draper-Maltby Would be a great lineup

    Datsyuk Contract Negotiations

If Dats got the same 4 yr 20 million deal as Savard I would be thrilled, he deserves a raise, though not to 6-7 million, but 5 mill is a good number for him in my opinion. Especially seeing as he has stepped it up since Hank went out.

Who do you think needs to go?

Alright looking at our Free Agents For next year I think that: Datsyuk...STAYS...PERIOD Lang will be gone, no questions asked. Maltby should be gone, because he isn't the player he once was and isn't worth any more than league min. Not only that but he doesn't bring enough to the lineup anymore to deserve a spot. He isn't the top penalty killer anymore, and I would rather have Cleary play with Draper. Bertuzzi I have no idea about, it all depends on $$$ left after Datsyuk and how he does in the playoffs. I won't be upset if he leaves, but it would be nice to have him back. Calder needs to accept a HUGE paycut to stay here and that means odds are he is gone, but so is the 1.6 million Williams would have had...and that goes into Datsyuks pocket... Langfeld, I Don't care either way, Ellis I would like to see stay but again no harm if he leaves. And Hussey doesn't matter one way or the other. on Defence: Schneider may command too much in the way of money to keep him, which is a shame because I like him a lot. Markov should be back, hopefully around the same price Chelios will be back for pocket change again Norton is gone...Fischer's salary is gone but we will still take care of the guy. Goalies...Hasek I think is in this years playoffs for his last huurah, and I think the Ozzie misses starting article was Oz's way of saying, "I would like an opportunity to start, here or somewhere else" Which means his status depends on if the Wings will give him a shot as the starter.

Lebda hit from behind, suffers concussion

Something I forgot to add in my last post... The game gets rough emotions flow, people get carried away... If Niemenen is man enough to go make sure Lebda is okay after that, the only concern I have is that he should be suspended, and I don't hate him for it at all.

Lebda hit from behind, suffers concussion

So yeah I hate boarding and spearing and think they should both be automatic minimums of 3 games...However I didn't see the hit and can't judge it but article on mlive says niemminen visited Lebda in the hospital to make sure he was okay, so I don't really have anything bad to say about the guy.

Didnt get to watch the game but is niemennen going to get suspended... In my opinion Boarding and Spearing should both be automatic 3 gamers...

Why Oz again??? I'm not complaining because I love Oz, BUT that would be 2 no Dom's in a row??? That is rare. Especially since we don't play tomorrow. Oh well...whoever minds the net go Wings tonight. Cleary gets a goal and Bert gets his first as a wing those are my only predicitions.

    Sergei Fedorov boos

I decided not to post this one because it was a little harsh... Point is Feds isnt the same guy he was when he left, he sorted out a lot of personal things. If the fans truly appreciate hockey, they would see his talent and appreciate what he did for this team...Its rare for players to stay with one team their whole career now a days...we were spoiled with Yzerman and Lidstrom...Should we then boo any player to ever leave this team because we were sad he left hell no...I was really sad he left, he was my favorite player my whole life. He was part of why I became a Wings fan at the age of 4 and I am still both a Wings fan and a Feds fan Christ the guy deserves some respect
  24. russianswede919293

    Sergei Fedorov boos

Feds left for many reasons that are mostly all speculative. It wasn't money because he got less with anaheim. Part of it was that he wanted to be the teams go to guy which wasnt going to happen here with Yzerman, you cannot fault him for that. and I believe part of it was that his life was in bad shape. That was when he got the divorce from kournikova, and he probably needed a fresh start to clear his mind (though that is only my opinion not fact). He always will be my favorite player, not hapy we lost at all, but not happy he gets booed either. Good Article on why we shouldn't boo Feds at all. He said he appreciated how the fans treated him in Detroit, and then we treat him like s***??? THe guy needed a change and wanted more ice time, is that not a valid reason to leave a team? Granted I too was sad when he left but if people truly like this guy they will root for him wherever he goes and still be a red wings fan too...its 100% possible He also just wanted more time and never formmally rejected the 5 yr 50 million dollar offer that was pulled off the table... LINK So a guy sorting through his personal life gets no respect than??? He still wanted to go back the to 5 yr offer and Holland wouldn't which I think was part of why he left (again my opinoin only) I just don't think its right to boo a guy that did so much and left for many reasons NONE of which were the money

3/20 GDT: Red Wings @ Flames

Its alright other than that it seems Hasek played a pretty solid game and Kipper stole the show...not to upset by anything in this game, Calgary just played better it happens sometimes... But yeah on Hasek, that is what I was talking about earlier in the year, BUT the few times it bites us in the ass I've accepted that many times it doesn't...Still don't like the guy, but hey we're winning, and he still didn't have a bad game yesterday. I'm more upset when he goes to play the puck and ballses that up than on this one...
