Only cool thing he ever did was rip the tongue off the Flames Mascot...

Firstly no need for Smyth with Homer, secondly I agree with the rest of your post. Torres hits hard and high just like Kronner did so MacTavish can wipe the sand out of his personal areas step up and be a big boy.

There is another reason if those whispers are true and not just Ottawa paper mumbo jumbo... -

Wings have made an Offer for Jason Blake

Oh I do think they'll want a lot for him, I think they would want a lot for them if they were out of the playoffs too, I was just saying why they would be willing to trade him. ***EDIT*** But Tkachuk went for a lot and they want just as much for Guerin and the Blues aren't really in contention for the playoffs so I just think the market is high regardless... -

Same reason they traded Parrish last year, even though they werent in the hunt then but $$$ the perverbial big bucj pay raise that Wang only gives in 15 year deals...and Blake isnt playing until he is 48 -

I hope that it is a reasonable deal that is for 3-4 years at about 5 million a year.

I don't really have a problem with Hudler and picks for Blake, since it would be easier to re-sign him than a guy like Guerin who will go for much more $$$. And I think that Holland might be able to work something out in terms of a conditional pick if he re-signs with the team or something like in the Tkachuk trade. I still like the Isles too just haven't followed them too religiously anymore that Oz is gone. I do love DiPietro though. Bates is a good Maltby like player and Parrish was one of my favorites as well. Webb may have been a train wreck but its hard not to love a guy that hit Sundin then fought Domi the first time I ever saw him play... -
I kind of like them. I don't have a problem with the two different logos on home and away jerseys because no 3rd jersey means there will still be some variety. My only question is since they are from a bloggers inbox can we trust that they are official?

Yeah I think your right. If we got Blake Lapointe would be a good 2nd pick up instead of goung after both Blake and Guerin. I hope we land one of the two (I want Blake) and then Lapointe as well... Yeah I would have agreed with you a couple days ago but with Cleary out we could certainly use him now...I know he isnt big but if we got Blake and another player as well that was bigger I would be ecstatic. -

I dunno what are odds are realistically since San Jose also has placed an offer and they have a stellar line of prospects. I would be willing to send a little more in this one than in a renty player since I think he will probably re-sign where he is traded because the price is right. It'll probably take 1-2 prospects and 1-2 picks.... -

I think we could re-sign him after a trade too since he wants 5 years 18-million...so about 3.4 a year. Which is about the same as Lang makes and he won't be re-signed even if he isn't traded. Just the speculation on this one has me excited because as I said before I've always been a huge Blake fan and he would bring so much energy on every shift, which is what has been lacking on the second line. -

EXACTLY...When Oz went to Long Island I became an Islanders fan as well as a Wings fan, I have fallen off track with them ever since Oz left but even then I loved Blake and was so glad to see him perform since the lockout. THe new rules are written for guys like Blake. He is a great scorer, Powerplay and Penalty Killer. I think that it isnt exactly what we need but would certainly fill the Cleary void. We could then trade Lang to replace the pick traded for Blake (if we traded a pick) and use that pick and a prospect for a guy like Guerin. -
Torres is a good player. He hits hard and scores 20 goals a season. Definitely a guy that I would want on my team. Hate him anywhere else but would love him. That being said I doubt Edmonton would trade him. BLAKE (Jason not Rob) Should replace Cleary if we can make the right offer...check out the topic I already started on that.LINK

Man he has to travel a lot, Holland said when he was waved he was coming to Nashville and now he has to go to the Bruins once the plane lands...
-
sounds great to me too but it doesn't sound probable...Kenny keeps saying not to sell the farm on one player...I would love Jokinen as I said earlier but it is gunna take Filpulla/Hudler, Kindl/Ericsson, and at least one or 2 picks to land Jokinen and we would get a 2nd rounder at best for Lang, so I doubt Kenny would pull the trigger.
-
and he lacks the the ability to skate...that is the main reason he hasn't made the team he is a piss poor skater and that doesn't help the team at all.
-
I'd love to have him center our 2nd line!!!

Here is my take on it. The hit was borderline. Has been deemed legal multiple times this year, though I do feel it should be illegal. The Sabres response of sending their goons after Ottawa's best players was just as bad if not worse than the hit and follows up on typical Buffalo Sabres style. I recall being at a Sabres Wings game in Buffalo where we were winning 6-1 and hearing the fans yell PUT OUT THE GOONS while guys like Fedorov were on the ice, in response they did put the goons out. THey haven't changed at all. If they wanted to settle the score they go after Neil or another fighter I'm okay with that but sending Mair, Peters, (2 guys that should be in the AHL in my opinion) after both Heatly AND Spezza shows less class than Neil's hit on Drury.

MLIVE in Khan's blog says that Boston told Mickie-Dee's he would see some action so I guess he is staying up and Toivonen is going back to P-town.
-
not surprised. He will at least get to play in Providence...Hope you can catch on their Joey
-
I think that this is kind of spelling the end of Mickie-Dees in the Wings organization and that they really kind of want him to be taken off waivers. Holland said there isn't room for him in Grand Rapids and that they are looking to loan him to a different AHL team or to a team in the ECHL... MLIVE I know it is more for playing time than anything else, so that he would be ready incase Oz or Hasek wen down again. But I think that they would call Howard up over MacDonald at this point in that situation after the Philly game.

you beat me to it i just saw it on mlive as well/... well it can't hurt us at all to have him back...no bill guerin but ill take it for now...I'm happy for him if that is the case, and it gives hope to fisch stiicks as well... MLive's link brings you to the same site that was used at the beginning of the thread...no offense to 58Miles2Joe, great discovery on this news/rumor, but ill wait until the Wings, NHL, ESPN or TSN acknowledges its validity before I coun't on seeing Johnny suit up.
