But I do agree that if he can stay healthy it will be a great trade for Nashville and they will have made themselves the team to beat in the West...I don't think he will stay healthy though Despite the fact that Todd Bertuzzi won't return to the Panthers' lineup until the 20th--seven days from the deadline--as he's had some difficulties recovering from back surgery, Panthers coach and GM Jacques Martin says that teams are inquiring about Big Bert: "I've gotten quite a few calls, but I'm not sure what's going to happen yet," said Martin. "We're still in this and we're going to fight right to the end. http://www.mlive.com/weblogs/snapshots/ind..._02.html#237892 doesn't sound like I want him on the Wings if he is having Back problems still after the surgery... I think a different power forward would be better, but we definitely need to get one soon, especially since Nashville just got better -
OFFICIAL: Forsberg traded to Predators

I 100% agree. I'm glad that he didn't come to the Wings because it took way too much to bring him in to Nashville. It sucks that he is now on the team that is gunning for the division. But I am still glad that we didn't give all that up for a guy with a bad foot that has definitely seen better days -
I half agree...he has looked good in the first 2 periods of many games, but he cannot withstand the onslaught of pressure that comes out in the 3rd period EVERY game...and if you can't play the third, you can't play. I agree that he has talent and has shown signs of being a capable backup, but he really isn't quite ready for the NHL and needs to be playing regularly right now...however there is the Howard and Liv issue that means he has to be our 3rd string up here...
-
Again I state the Flyers are mostly bottomfeeders due to the lack of a healthy talented goalie and more importantly the lack of Forsberg...they are a completely different team without Forsberg and don't look like a bottom feeder lately against everyone not just us
-
New official nickname???
-
we would have won if it was last night...unless MickeyDees has another one slip through.
-
Babcockles should have pulled Joey after the 5th goal, his head is not in the game at all right now, he's thinking about the shower and drowning himself in whatever food cures his sorrow...my guess is McDonalds' cheeseburgers??? Dollar Menu anyone?
-
oh s***...Howard?!?! Joey is gunna want to risk the waiver wire to go back to GR after this one
-
Flyers are a different team with Forsberg. THey aren't the worst team in the league when his boots fit
-
OZZIE...WHO NEEDS THE FINGER ON THE WAFFLE HAND...NOBODY come BACK... Hasek I understand, you need your wrist...but the finger OZ come ON
-
OUCH...Howard?
-
sorry three times.
-

-
lol, cause Hasek and Osgood will be back eventually...

MacDonald has shown signs of being a good goalie today, but he has been unsure of himself on every play. Rebound control has been about 0% and on that 3rd goal, he didn't follow the puck at all, he expected Lidstrom to make the play and Umberger knew it and capitalized. Not a bad game for him persay seing that he is still young, but has to be more sure of himself or he'll never be able to play a third period when the pressure mounts. As shown the last two games. As I wrote this he let in another one, so it may be moving towards a bad game persay, but he has shown some talent today. I think he was in too deep into the net on that one left the whole left side of the net open.

Ray Emery is not a bad goalie at all, but he is INSANE... puckloo I agree with you on this one, it really does punish the Sens more and they have to be getting tired of all his crap. The guy is a great young goalie but he already has a horrible track record. He has been asked to remove Mike Tyson from his mask, to which he called the league racist, when it is obvious they asked him to remove it for the fact that Tyson is a convicted rapist. He slashed Lapierre, He got in a fight with a forward in the AHL and was quoted saying he wanted to fight Lapierre as well...Earth to Ray, goalies shouldn't be trying to get in fights with forwards. He really needs to get himself under control because he could truly be a #1 goalie for the Sens for years to come.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
russianswede919293 replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
Trading Hudler isn't a good Idea in my opinion. He has shown signs of being a good scorer this season and I would rather re-sign Datsyuk than Forsberg over the offseason and you know it wouldn't be both. I know it'll be hard to get Datsyuk into a proper $$$ range but I would rather try to get him back than to trade for, then re-sign FOrsberg because Forsberg is old with injury problems and Datsyuk has been great this year, and if on a line with Hank in the playoffs he may even perform. I think that I would rather trade Williams than Hudler. Because Williams for a possible renty wouldn't have any sort of sorrow for me and I would be sad to see Hudler go. Edit: In no way am I saying I don't want Forsberg. i think he would be great for the team IF healthy. BUT I think Hudler has too much potential to trade away, and I would rather re-sign Datsyuk for 6 million than Forsberg for 5 million -
At this very moment is Kronner worth 3 million a season over the next 5 seasons...no... At the same time I agree that you have to take gambles in the new NHL if you are going to succeed. Kronner could have great seasons in the next 3 years with his potential, former AHL Eddie SHore (outstanding D-man) award, and he won MVP and Best defender in the 2006 Worlds. If Kronwall becomes half the player he could be he is worth 3 million a season, and if he lives up to his potential we have a great deal on him at 3 million a season as our cap hit. Good risk and if it doen't pay off it shouldn't be too bad. At least it isn't like the gamble the Isles took on DiPietro. I vote defiinatly not to trade him.

I like Bobby Lang...He produces in the playoffs and is a good presence for the team...Don't know if I'd bring him back next year when his contract is up but I am glad he is here now
-
Casey had his calf hurt at bat today...chances of tigers winning goes down drastically without him in the game because we dont have another 1st baseman and he is the clutch hitter in the lineup... Ouch... Hope it isnt serious
-
Word is its a spasm...they dont know much yet, said they may do an mri but it may be nothing
-
GO TIGERS...I have been loving this whole thing, havent been in the playoffs since 1987, the year i was born...its been a dream season
-
HORRIBLE...Shanny doesnt deserve 4 million dollars, I would force myself to be glad about 3 million... I think that it is time to let go of some of these guys... Holland said theree would be considerable changes after we aere eliminated...I DONT SEE ANY...We Lose Stevie, Overpay Shanny, and possibly bring in BELFOUR...whose back has been bad for years... Signing Shanny for 4 million dollars is a HUGE waste of money for a guy who sucked in the playoffs...especially on a 2 year deal...

That is the reason why I asked if people thought he would retire. Because MacIntyre looks like #2 in GR now and MacDonald's back is becoming more chronic than a one time thing. Especially with Liv coming over. Next year will look like Detroit: Legace/Osgood Liv GR: Howard MacIntyre Which leaves MacDonald as the odd and injured man out
