We seem to give up an awfully large amount of late period goals this season...it is a stat that I find concerning. DOn't know if its bad luck or if they try to glide into the intermissions, but it is a bad trend that they need to end.

Another terrible pinch by Ruslan Suck-ei that resulted in a breakaway...Kronner covered his butt.

That blows..Huge hit to the line-up. My guess is that Abdelkader will slot back to center and will play the 3rd line with Hudler and Cleary.

Filppula also was one of the Wings best players in a close 3rd period where Hudler was on the bench the whole time in favor of a 3-line rotation... Why is that, because Filppula devotes himself to playing brilliant 2-way hockey. The more he plays on the PP and the more he gets going Filppula will reach a 50-60 pts per season offensive potential. Maybe not this year, but he will hit it at some point. THat is about the same potential as Hudler has, and Hudler doesn't skate hard to the back-check on defense. That is why Filppula gets the playing time. I love Hudler and want him to bust out and get going again, but right now FIlppula has done nothing but impress me.

Cam Janssen is such a freaking goon. Blues revert back to old form when the game falls out of their control. This is why I think we will start to pull away from them. They are a good team, but they have trouble keeping their cool. Playing like this last time they gave up 6 goals got Oshie injured while trying to break up one of their scrums.

Yup. I was before this game and thought they were riding a hot goalie, only I am able to admit I was wrong and that we again have some competition for the division this season coming this time from St. Louis. Their young players are finally getting to be as good as they expect and they look impressive. The Wings have made some mistakes in their own zone, but I think its been a pretty back and forth game with a SLIGHT edge to St. Louis. Its been a very good and very enjoyable game. Now lets go get the W in regulation please.

I've been impressed by the Blues. They are better than I thought they were. Also Larry Murphy seems drunk again tonight...I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! He seems drunk like 85% of the time, especially when he goes nuts over dollar hot dogs. Murph was always a favorite on the point for me and now he is a favorite in the booth...

Don't remember where I read it but I remember Babs saying the plan was to have a 3 man rotation with Eaves-Miller-Abdelkader rotating out but Abdelkader has played so well he has not been able to bring himself to remove him from the line-up. IMO Abdelkader brings an energy. It has looked like a different team with him in than before he got back. His energy reminds me a lot of the Dallas Drake style energy from the Cup winning team, and I think that he is a huge piece to this team. I always thought that part of the loss in the second cup series against pittsburgh was because abdelkader was removed from the line-up.

I've decided I like the nickname of Darth Kader for abdelkader!
