Getting under cap could be a problem now... I'll take it though Lebda gone???
-
So apparently waiving May and sending Abdelkader down still leaves the team 130 k over cap... issue... In all honesty swapping Lebda for Janik is the cleanest way to do that in my personal opinino but I doubt it will happen. the only other waiver exempt player on the team is helm and there is no way I could see him going down. Eaves has earned a place here. I think Miller has earned a place here. They are to loyal to lose Maltby, and to stuck on Leino to move him. SO I have no idea what is going to happen.

More importantly our PP becomes Bert-Dats-Homer Lids-Raffi Franz-Z-Cleary Kronner-Willy that will be awesome... -
I like Leino but if I was forced to make a decision I would choose Miller. He is more NHL ready and he is making more of an impact. In every way, offensively defensively and physically, Miller outshines Leino in all of these categories. I was doing some snooping and actually came accross something extremely interesting. http://www.redwingscentral.com/stories/200...2_RWCReport.php Every issue anybody has with Leino was addressed by his Finnish League coach right when the Wings signed him. I think that his solid first year made us forget the flaws that were there when he came over. Seddon didn't even put Leino (one of his best players) on his Finnish Worlds team because he didn't elevate his talent in camp to match the NHL players. A lot of what Seddon has said about Leino are the exact problems he has had this year in the NHL.

Ozzie was pretty good tonight for his first start in a month against the best offensive team in hockey. Typical Wings game this year. Strong for 50 minutes and fall apart defensively in the last 10 minutes.
-
I like Raffi, don't 6 million dollar like him but like him. He should have Stuart money, they are equals in my eyes.
-
The last 2 games have me feeling really good about this team's playoff chances.
-
Which is sad since he was with a skating coach all summer...
-
He fought for the puck last year, I just don't see it this year anymore. It was there early, then when the results didn't come he just sort of gave up.
-
Yeah...If it comes down to it though, Miller or Leino they are the same age, Miller has more experience, and is playing the game much harder. For me its not even the lack of results that is making me start to question if I still support him, its the lack of effort. How much is it to ask to pressure the defenceman with the puck and not give him 4 seconds to make a perfect pass...just skate and get your stick in the passing lane...if its slightly off target it gives the Wings D more of a chance to get back. The lack of effort is just pissing me off.
-
Sadly yes it did. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt... Now I am just giving him the doubt... I hope he can turn it around but he looks lost out there.
-
This is slightly inappropriate given his history...but if you get the reference... That's because he forces all to have chemistry with him.
-
I have supported him, but this game has me losing it, Leino has done nothing right in a game where the team is playing very well. He is easily being knocked off the puck, he falls like the water of the niagara river every time he is touched and he is weak in the corner. He had a weak turn over when forced off the puck and then did not pressure Green at all. Leino, I am losing faith...
-
Was disappointed that Leino didn't pressure Green to rush his pass at all...
-
I hope the lines when healthy are Bert-Datsyuk-Homer Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Miller-Filppula-Williams Draper-Helm-Eaves
-
Wings looking good so far. Just said Kronner is skating again Miller-Filppula-Cleary is a fun line

I was going to post my thoughts but you already did. This one nails it.

Despite losing in a shootout this game was refreshing. Solid 65 minute effort, great play by everyone on the team, even Lebda. -
Instead of Overeacting educate yourself on the Facts of Ott's Goal

The Wings need to win this game since it is their makeup game on the Kings. A win puts us in a tie for 8th seed. I don't care about Chicago since they are so far ahead. Regulation or OT I don't care just pull out a win. And I will be surprised if Ozzie isn't in net. Game goes to a shootout and was very physical on everyone including Howard last night, I don't expect him to start a game less than 24 hours later. -

Howie is playing real well. If he could learn better rebound control I could love him 100% instead of 99.99% -
