Did anyone else notice that Ozzie switched back to the Brians for todays game? I think that he looked quicker in these pads then in the vapors he was wearing in game 1. He was controlling rebounds bettter, getting in better position for second shots, and above all coming out and challenging with more confidence. I wonder if the Brians are back to stay. I hope so since he practiced with the Brians while playing in the Itechs last year, which hurt him. So hopefully he learned his lesson and will go Brians for the year...at least until the all star break when he gets 2 more weeks to break the nbvapors in.

From what I have noticed MOST goalies change their pads every year. This is because the new models are designed every year, and whether it be their endorsers or themselves, they wear new stuff. Historically Ozzie is not one to do so in thaat he has worn same pads for upwards of 3 years in a row at times. Also its not that he found Brians. They are straight up the Brians he wore last year, you can tell from all the puck spots on them. Ozzie seems like a picky kind of guy with equipment.

Another great shift by that line draws a PP...get this one back for Jon and Chris after that unfortunate PK situation. Off to see a movie will watch the end of the game when I get home Enjoy folks

Ericsson is barely mobile out there after thatt shot his his foot. If that is more then a bruise it could be a problem. It was mostly a 5 on 3 ericsson was down and out all shift.

Honestly the guy I have been most impressed with on the blackhawks is madden.

staged...but there was no energy before it and a bit after so still well timed. Also OZZIE what great hand eye coordination out there...he has been this teams 1st star tonight. kept them in ealry and making big saves to keep the game where it is at.

This is at least the 3rd or 4th time i've said this BUT...rebound control, 2nd movement to control/get in position for rebounds/and most of all the challenging and angles of Ozzie are SO much better tonight... I really think that this is because he went back to the Brians. Ozzie isn't so good at breaking in new pads...that was part of last years debacle. Whatever caused this great pla tonight Ozzie...do the same thing every night...and give Jimmy some of the Koolaid.

That line has been good. All three of them. Even J-Dub... I think that in a few more games those three will fully click and it will be SCARY for opponents.

There have been an overabundance of special teams playing time so its hard to tell truthfully. It will seem skewed. Guys like Leino and May are not where they could be if it was more Even Strength game

May has been a good addition through 2 periods...when he has been out there he has skated well, and played hard. I like it. With Draper and Maltby looking rejuvinated I think we have the makings of a new grind line!!! IMO the key to 4th line success all through the year is limiting the GP by all 3 of those guys, getting up there in age, mixing Eaves in to spell them and keep all 3 fresh will be great success all year.

That is your future Rookie of the Year...Ville Lino...turning heads, skating hard, grinding corners, scored a goal (game 1) (more to come) Ville Leino is going to be almost as productive as Hudler offensively this season, but is going to bring a more rounded game to the ice.

IMO that 5 on 3 kill is what really ignited the Wings today. They have had energy all night, and that got it pointed in the right direction. I think Stuart, May, and the PK unit are responsible for the way this game has turned around since the first 5 minutes.

Franzen gets that one...it wasnt going to go in. Franzen from Pavel and another!!! First really good looking PP of the night.

The finnladian line has been amazing. I have been very impressed with Leino. If he keeps this up there will be more goals to come for him and a possible Calder!!! Looks like Filppula will get more PP time then Bert...not a bad call Babcock.

Draper and maltby look 12 years younger out there this season...it reminds me of a simpler time when i was still but a wee lad... Draper's speed has been more then I have seen in a few years!!!!

I wouldn't go that far. They look inconsistent. When they are meshing they look great, but when they aren't its messy. Its a huge roster turnover. There are 7 or 8 new faces (including rookies) that were not here for most of last season...I guess helm and ericsson dont count but still thats 5 or 6 new guys...its going to take more than 3 games to gel 100%

Meech has looked really good. Is anybody opposed to trading Lebda...because the cap space is not there for Helmer off the IR...

Don't want to be a pest but did anybody else notice how much more comfortable ozzie looks back in the brians then in the nike-bauers of game 1 and the preseason (he was't so good for preseason or game 1) yet is tonight... I hope intstead of trying to practice break in the nike bauers he just ditches them and sticks with the brians
