Holland confirms that Hudler will play in KHL
russianswede919293 replied to egroen's topic in General
Its too bad Hudler is gone. I always liked him a lot. I'm very upset with how everything went down but I'm sure he has reasons. That being said, if he does end up back here, he will have to earn my love back. Mlive had something up saying they had a 2.5 million per year long term offer on the table for him that he took better money for in Russia. Its not that the Wings didn't want to pay him more then Filppula its that they didn't have the cap to do it. They were willing to give him all they had to give with the cap, let everybody else walk, and keep him, and it wasn't good enough...He could have gone 1-year and gotten more next year...Until we know the actually monetary value of his offer, there are many conflicting reports, its hard to judge what this all is. Jiri, I doubt you'll ever be a Wing again...best of luck to you... Here's hoping Leino puts up one hell of a rookie year. -
Holland confirms that Hudler will play in KHL

I disagree here. Babcock didn't play Hudler as much even strength, because he is not as good defensively as Filppula, however Filppula never logged any PP time, and Babcock even kicked Cleary off the PP this year to keep Hudler on the PP. Babs had a role for Hudler, and it was an accurate one for the roster we had. -

I wouldn't call it childish either. But the fact that he bolts 3 days after filing for arbitration is definitely something to be pissed about. -

Yes, last year the KHL was forced to slash salaries 5-20% depending on their value in order to operate http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2009/4/8/826...slash-contracts lets assume the contract is 4 years 20 million, and this occurs again...it is now 4 years 16 million...then lets say it happens again the next year since the economy got worse again...its now 1 year 4 million 3 yr 10 million... A KHL contract is not what it may seem to be... -

I think he was, but wound up staying there. I remember reading the KHL defaulted on a ton of contracts last year, they may have missed a paycheck. I read your response in another thread opie, and although Huds might be getting more money in the KHL, it is not guarenteed, this league has already failed to pay players and has yet to prove that they can be a succesful league. A 4 year 15 million contract there could be a 1 year contract for 2.5 million realistically if the league defaults or flops. Its a huge risk to take the big defaultable money over the not as big but still big guarenteed money. -

Radulov...we can now relate with Preds fans, Radulov and Hudler were at pretty similar places in their careers (statistically) and bolted for the tundra escept radulov was younger -

Yup about 80 goals short from where we were, leino scores MAYBE 20, we are 60 goals short of where we would be, FA and Helm score MAYBE 20 between them short 40 goals from last year... -
Without Abby 2.529 for 2 forwards + trade Meech = approximately 3 million for 2 forwards, meaning 2.5 at most for one player

Im pissed at Jiri, if you want the non-guarenteed "big" defaulting money of the KHL you go ahead. -

mlive.com is saying that the TSN report is false, the contract is tax free and heavily front loaded. There is no way he ditches for 1 yr 2 million, from Hollands comments it sounds like big big money. Either way I'm sad to see him go but if it goes like this eff him -

I don't get it 1 yr 2.0 million, why not sign the exact same contract with Detroit... -
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing

Ville Leino signs a 2 year extension

Wings now have 2.53 million free under cap plus whatever they gain from trading Lebda or Meech to sign Hudler and a grinding forward -

Great Signing, I thought it would be a 1 million cap hit. This frees up more money to bring Hudler back with. Great Signing, and I look forward to Ville on the second line next year. -
Wings will re-sign Leino to a 2-year deal
russianswede919293 replied to Hey Hey Hockeytown!'s topic in General
My guess is about 2.1 million, I think 900k this year and 1.2 mil the year after. -
Sad to see him go even though I wanted him out. He was a solid player for the Wings, and as much s*** as I gave him he was a good player. Too much money for him though, so happy to see him go. I knew it was Sammy or Hudler, and I would gladly pick Hudler. Best of luck Sammy!

Yup, for the same reason. I doubt it will go to arbitration, it is his way of saying I cannot recieve an offer sheet I want to be a Red Wing lets make this work. I bet he signs a few days before he is scheduled for arbitration. -
Hudler will file for arbitration thus locking himself to the Wings. I doubt it will go to an arbitrator. Filppula did the same thing and then the Wings signed him before the hearing. I said it back in January that Huds would file for arbitration just like Filppula to show the team he wants to stay.

Gainey should re-sign his RFA's then Koivu and Kovalev and call it a day.

OFFICIAL: 12y, $62.4m makes Hossa a 'Hawk
russianswede919293 replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Bad move by Chicago they have 35 million tied to 9 players next year. thatg leaves them about 20 million to sign 12 players, including Kane, Toews, and Keith...plus versteeg is an RFA this year.... Good number on Hossa but bad planning for the future by Chicago -
So just wanna say Hossa is actually a 6.4 mill cap hit because you need to count Kopey too.

I think he is a primadona d-bag. You demand a trade and when one is lined up you dont waive your no movement clause...what an ass

Hossa or Havlat to Montreal in my opinion.
