    12th FOrward

Yeah, I figure that a 4th line of Maltby-Draper-Ellis would be great defensively, plus Ellis fits the mold of guy who can play Winger or Center, which is something the Wings loe to have.

Wings select Landon Ferraro at 32nd overall

I am excited about this pick. He is small, but will fill out. I think that he is definitely going to benefit from how the Wings develop prospects.

Johan Ryno Coming back to North America

I really liked Ryno the first time he came over...He left me greatly dissapointed though so I will accept him back again only without expectations. I saw him as Homer or Franzen and he was not. I think a lot of it was that he left before he could get used to the north american game. If he sticks around long enough he could make a decent player for us.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

I came up with that because I think that I would rather have him play with Datsyuk then Filppula because that would make the third line be Hudler-Helm-Leino I am more comfortable with Hudler-Filppula-Helm and also feel Leino would make a good linemate for Datsyuk... I came up with it in terms of wanting to continue to have 3 balanced scoring lines like we did this year... In your language that the f***s sake that I came up with it... I didn't pull it out of my ass in case you were wondering.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

I think that if Montreal cannot get the Sedin Twins they could go after Hossa.

    Hossa wants 6million a year

If the Wings sign Hossa to a 10 year 40 million dollar contract they need 2 forwards signed at negative one million dollars. If they sign him to the 6 million he wants then they need two forwards at negative three million dollars, which means they need to trade 2 players and not just 1. IF Hossa is coming back it will be at no more then 5 million. That being said I think Hossa is gone... but: Leino-Datsyuk-Homer Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Hudler-Filppula-Helm Maltby-Draper-Some cheap Signing isn't bad up front.

    McCarty offered a two-way deal

A 2-Way Contract if it is a 1 year contract doesn't count against the cap when the player is in the AHL. McCarty will play in the AHL until he retires...but that being said he will continue to help the younger players develop. McCarty had a huge impact on Abdelkader's growth in my opinion. I like him down there. When he eventualy retires I bet he is an Assistant Coach in the AHL.

1955 posts for game 7 STANLEY CUP WIN!

I'll be in Section 213A Row 18 Seat 7 in my Henrik Zetterberg Jersey. I really hope that they win. I spent 202 dollars on that ticket.

SCF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Penguins 2

All I know is that Game 7 should be one hell of a game. I hope the Wings come out on top.

SCF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Penguins 2

Not to upset to get there, just after watching a loss I am not excited yet. I'm still too pissed off. I'll be excited in the morning when the heartbreak of a loss tonight wears off. The Wings could have put the Pens away with better play tonight. Ozzie was outstanding and the Wings did not capitalize at all. It was hard to watch as a wings fan. However being at a game 7 win would be the best sports moment of my life.

SCF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Penguins 2

As much as I can say the refs sucked tonight, Detroit should have scored on the 2 PP's when it was 2-1. That being said the game winner was on a play that should have been a hook on Pittsburgh which is why Lids couldn't clear it. I am still way to upset about tonights loss to be happy that I have a ticket to game 7. I wish they would have put this away tonight.

Heads Up - NO JOE VISION TOMORROW!

Link According to this it was the league's decision to tell both networks to disallow this, then why did the league not also step in and disallow the Versus broadcast to be used in the same manner in Pittsburgh.

Heads Up - NO JOE VISION TOMORROW!

Don't want to read 10 pages, but this is my thought, sorry if its a repeat. How come the Penguins got to hold their outside jumbotron party during games 3 AND 4 but the Wings cannot do Joe Vision...

SCF GAME 5 GDT: Penguins 0 at Red Wings 5

Hopefully the Wings can play some solid defence tonight and Pavs coming back will certainly help that cause. IIn my opinion the winner of this game will win the cup. I think a Wings win means Wings in 7 and a Pens win means Pens in 6...so that being said...GO WINGS!!!

    Matt and Mod Appreciation Thread

With all the appreciation threads out there, I felt the need to put one out to Matt and the Mod staff here at LGW. The playoffs are an intense time for all hockey fans, and these boards become packed with traffic from loyal LGWers to new members, to fans of other teams and even a lot of trolls. You guys have done a great job of keeping the site running smoothly and quickly with the increase in traffic as well as keeping the inevitable trolling to a minimum. I love that this site, unlike others, allows new members without a probation period, and encourages fans of other teams to come and post here. The trolls are weeded out quickly enough and there is quality hockey talk between Wings fans, their opponents fans, and fans of teams not so fortunate to make it this far. From all of us at LGW keep up the good work, and thanks for your time and patience.

    Matt and Mod Appreciation Thread

Probably should, but things rarely get found in the Water Cooler, its kind of the AHL of the LGW board...just wanted to throw this out where all would see because they all deserve a little recognition

SCF GAME 2 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

Agree on your first point, no suspension should be given. Agree on the second point that Ozzie dove on a slash, it was a slash yes, but Ozzie went a flying, but that is what us goalies do, we embelish to get our calls. Your third point, yes if the Pens win both at home its a series again, but IF Datsyuk comes back that will be more then hard.

    Malkin's penalty rescinded (merged)

no reason to suspend him, the prescedent has been set with walker and perry already . I posted something similar in the GDT. IM not surprised ot upset by no suspension

SCF GAME 2 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

I think that it is a matter of the fact that that has been the prescident all playoffs. Perry and Walker both got the same treatment earlier, it is not unique to Pittsburgh, I think the league would keep a suspension if it resulted in injury or was something premeditated instead of an emotional boil over. Im not surprised or upset by no suspension.

SCF GAME 2 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

IF Detroit was a chronic interferer I believe they would always have a man in the penalty box. Pittsburgh and Detroit both got away with a lot, o anybody saying that Detroit's "iinterference" was why we won, clearly knows nothing about hockey and is just trying to be a parrot to Eddie Olcyks comment. Learn the sport, are there tiny inteferences subtly oh yeah, does every team do it oh yeah, was it a penalty 10 years ago, oh no. The Interference call is a product of the many PP high scoring post lockout NHL that Bettman has strived to create., This series has had a let them play mentality by the refs, and both teams are getting away with a lot of post lockout penalties...I am loving it...this is pre lockout hockey officiating, and the way the game is meant to be played.

SCF GAME 2 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

Ironic since we are not at full strength...yet a wings team missing their best faceoff man and their MVP nominee is winning due to "lucky bounces" Nope its 100% depth. Does anyone realistically think the Pens would perform as well as Detroit is now if Malkin or Crosby was out...nope...but even with Datsyuk out we have a 2-0 series lead.
