WCSF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Ducks 3
russianswede919293 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I'm callin git 4-2 Wings tonight 3 goals by HOSSA -
I'm expecting Howard, Leino, Abdelkader, and Kindl for sure, and maybe a few others. Who thinks Leino could get some ice time for game 5?
-
No McCarty? I know he wouldn't get into any games, but at least as a locker room presence? I'm kind of surprised.

WCSF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

Zetterberg, Franzen and Lidstrom are the only guys lighting the lamp here. Hossa with 4 total points, none this series, and Datsyuk with three total points one this series. If Pavs and Hossa cannot do it together play them apart. Hell put Hossa on the thrid line, then you have a superstar on all 3 lines, the Ducks don't have the depth to deal with that. Sammy or Helm-Pavs-Homer Fran-Z-Cleary Hudler-Filpulla-Hossa Sammy or helm-Kopey-Maltby -

Took them long enough to wake up. Lets play the whole third like this and win this game 3-2 GO WINGS -

If that had been Homer it would have been no goal... -

Hopefully the Wings got new bum-holes tore into them by Babs and they can play some inspired hockey. Lets end the period up 2-1 and head for the third. -

Its been more then one game. The lines have not been working all series. -

Wings have 5 periods to get their s*** together or we are in big trouble. (rest of today and then game 4) I really think a line-up change is in order with this anemic uninspired lazy 5 on 5 play. -

Its not like the PP looks any good today anyways... I miss Rafalski -

Hossa is being neutralized by Neidermeyer and Datsyuk is being neutralized by Marchant... It is rather annoying. -

Ozzie has really kept them in this one. Losing faceoffs, sloppy neutral zone turnovers causing odd man rushes and penalties. Lebda looked horrible that period. Rafalski's absence has been very apparent all series to me.\ Until the Wings show up even strength they are hurting their chances at a series win. Also maybe its time to mix up the lines. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Homer Hossa-Filpulla-Franzen Hudler-Helm-Cleary Maltby-Kopy-Sameulsson Also Chelios really looks 47 tonight. -
WCSF GAME 2 GDT: Ducks 4 at Red Wings 3 (3OT)

Its something I said to my roommate when Buffalo played Anaheim. The Ducks are good at making teams play their style of hockey. The Sabres did that in the first period, and then played with speed and intensity the next two periods and I believe won the game. The Wings need to play Red WIngs hockey not Ducks hockey if they want to win. -

Exactly, its hard to call interference on the Ducks when the Wings are not moving their feet. They need to move their feet and play hard in order to actually draw the penalties. -

Very well said shoreline. The refs cannot be blamed by the Wings not doing the things they did right last series right this series. -

To all that are blaming the refs, the ducks only really have a one weak call advantage. The Getzalf and Stuart penalties were both BS those cancel out. Cheli high sticked the guy, no complaint there. Lebda delayed the game, cannot argue that. The Kronner penalty shouldn't have been called since Neidermeyer wasnt called on Kopey... Its only one "unfair call". -

Finally somebody that has the blinders off. This is the point I've been making all game. Yes there should be more then one Detroit PP, but the fact that they are relying on the PP to win the game is not a good sign. To win the Cup you need to be able to win games with strong even strength play and I have not seen that today. The Ducks have done some things uncalled, but all in all they haveplayed a pretty clean game except for a few missed interference calls. -

One even strength goal and this is a different game as well. The Wings CANNOT count on the PP to win them every game of the playoffs. The Ducks lost last game due to penalties and have responded by playing a much cleaner game this game. Have there been missed calls...YES. Have the Ducks played more disciplined today ...Most definitely yes. Duck adjusted their game so they wouldnt lose to the Wings PP. The Wings need to beat them even strength in response. That puts the Ducks on there heals, and that is what would put the series away. -

Exactly...that is why the Wings are losing, not the refs. Babs should change the matchups a bit in period 3. Detroit played very poorly that period. They made a lot of mistakes and spent a lot of time in their own zone. Some nice penalty kills at the end of the period could be a momentum builder. Lets come out strong in the third and tie the game up, then play Red Wings hockey. -

If the Wings were playing a good game and these penalties were the decisive factor I would be mad at the refs, but Detroit is not been playing well today. Blaming the refs for a poorly played game is ridiculous. Have there been some poor calls...yes...is that the reason detroit is loosing...no. -

We've been on our heals all period. The delay of game is a sign of that. Wings really need to step it up. A good kill here to end the second and then a strong 3rd and we can win this one 4-3 -

russianswede919293 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
It would help yes, but so would a good showing in 5 on 5 play, which I have not really seen today. We cannot count on the PP to win every game for us, there needs to be more solid play 5 on 5 for the Wings to win. -

To me the Wings need to stop hoping for a PP and start playing better 5 on 5 -

Yes but a few missed calls does not excuse this uninspired play by the Wings today. -

Agreed that that was interference. But if Neidermeyer got away with his interference on a clear goal scoring opportunity to Kopey, that should be let go too. Not upset that Neidermeyer didn't go, just that its inconsistent to call that one on Kronner.
