Im upset that the payback was injuring Pollack...that is not classy. I nice hard check is all that was needed. No need to injure back...
-
I think the reason we are all "over-reacting" Is that Stuart just had an injury on a similar board collision and missed 3 weeks...Hossa gone for 3 weeks would be a big deal.
-
Good job Downey. That is the right move too. Downey fights their tough guy to send a message, no reason to go after anybody except for a nice fight. Classy way to send that message.

Loked identical to when Stuart went headfirst into the boards.. I am very worried. Leino may be taking a bus straight back to Detroit if Hossa is out long term...
-
I don't think it was a clean hit. I don't think he was trying to hurt him, but there really was no reason to check him in that situation. Even though it was not intentional it is now Downey's job to send a message not to take liberties with the stars...
-
He didn't want to hurt him, but he clearly checked him towards the boards, when he didn't have to. It was not intent to injure, but it is still a dirty hit.
-
Blues announcers are trying to call it a clean hit. He may have broken Hossa's neck. He could be done for the season. This is horses***. Downey needs to wreck that guy, otherwise he doesn't deserve to be on the roster.
-
Filppula has been on the 2nd line since Homer went down. Leino was subbing for Hossa at the start of the game. And it look like Kopey moved up to that line as Hossa's replacement.

7 GIVEAWAYS COme on Wings.

Good to hear, thanks loo. If Ozzie can come back from this and play like he did in the playoffs last year I expect another long playoff beard.
-
I think Leino may be my 5th favorite wing now... Zetterberg Osgood Datsyuk Lidstrom Leino

Just got back from dinner with the girlfriend, saw that Ozzie has 13 saves so far. Are they sharp welcome back Ozzie saves? I hope so.

Dandenault askes to be traded out of Montreal
russianswede919293 replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
Holland has stated any trade he makes will have to involve money going out since we are tight to cap. I can't see trading any roster player we have for Dandenault. He is a more expensive Brett Lebda/Derek Meech hybrid. I love Dandy don't get me wrong, I am probably one of the few Wings fans with a dandenault jersey but I can't see him on this team... -
Brendan Witt delivers a head shot to Niklas Hagman
russianswede919293 replied to The Mule's topic in General
I typically like Witt, but he went out of his way to hit him with an elbow in the head. At least 5 games... -
Yup. And two would be devestating. Lets assume that Kronner gets hurt (hey its kronner its feasable) and one other, lets say Rafalski for hell's sake and your defense is Lids-Lilja Lebda-Stuart Meech-Chelios Now lets say they have havelid.. Lids-Lilja Havelid-Stuart Lebda-Chelios Looks much better doesn't it...

its more likely they are scuting a defenseman than lehtonen...

Dandenault askes to be traded out of Montreal
russianswede919293 replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
his beef in montreal is that he is been a healthy scratch all season, and he wants to play so that he can earn a contract this offseason. -
Good enough...Yes... Need another player like him...No...

Lets have a talk about 4th line/ Maltby
russianswede919293 replied to XxGoWingsxX's topic in General
IMO Leino-Draper-Maltby was the best of all the 4th line rotations (i.e. Maltby-Draper-Kopecky; Leino-Draper-Kopecky, Leino-Kopecky Maltby) -

He told Gainey that if the team won't play him there are other teams that will. it sounds to me like he will be willing to waive it.
-
Hey NFM, Montreal traded Steve Begin to Dallas for Doug Janik http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=268795&lid...s=topStory_main I was told by my brother who is a Habs fan that Janik was already waived and sent to Hamilton, that it was cap cutting measure with Tanguay coming back, plus he isn't playing anyway. Next out the door is Laraque in my opinion.

Bad trade by the Penguins, and the Ducks might be able to push for the playoffs with Whitney. Plus with Neidermayer and Pronger both possibly gone at the end of the season Whitney will be key to the Ducks continuing to be a contender. Great trade by Anaheim, bad trade by Pittsburgh, they did not need another average winger...

These announcers are brutal. They wanted a penalty on Lilja there....
