BS call that was a clean check. IMO.
-
Then watch the San Jose stream through yahoo on mute...
-
Why is Yahoo carrying the away feed instead os FSNDetroit...
-
I was saying that Leino, Maltby and Kopecky would rotate while Draper and Hudler remained constant. I could flip Sammy with Hudler, and put Hudler on the third line though, it could go either way.
-
I think that these days were good to Ozzie and he is going to pull a Kovalev and come back something fierce... Glad COnks is against San Jose though, it will be an easier game for Ozzie to play LA then San Jose as his first game back.
-
GO LEINO! And we all knew Helm was in. I bet playoff lines (no cap constraints for playoffs, Leino will go back down and be a black ace) Dats-Z-Homer Franz-Filppula-Hossa Cleary-Helm-Sammy Leino/Kopecky/Maltby (rotation)-Draper-Hudler Lids-Raffi Kronner-Sammy Lebda-Lilja

I'm done. They should have given Jim the first game when the team was fresh, and let Super Conks bail us out of this piss poor effort...
-
He definitely has come around since the beginning of the game. I think he had the nervous jitters.
-
So I want Leino up in my NHL 09 dynasty so bad, but there is no way to call him up without trading somebody...
-
Leino brings out the best in even Kopecky. Nice goal Tomas... He should have a baby before every game.
-
I agree. After watching him single handidly win in Rochester the other night when I went to the game, and then seeing him tonight, he looks off his game tonight. Which is his problem, he is very inconsistent, and seems easy to faze...
-
Not tonight. This PK is going to be the death of us come playoff time...
-
I don't know if I necessarily want to hand the back-up job to Howard out of camp next season. I think he has to earn it...

Filppula has the most Even Strength points after Z, D, Hossa
russianswede919293 replied to Z and D for the C's topic in General
Filppula might not be the 4th best forward but he certainly is worth the 3 million dollars the wings spend on him. He is tremendous on the back check, and I have been saying all season that he has put up numbers in the points category that are just as good as last season, without playing on the powerplay, which he did last season. On top of that Filppula has been building what I think is great chemistry with Hossa with these injuries. I see next years lines as this: ZDH Franz-Filp-Hossa Cleary-Helm-Hudler Leino-Draper-Maltby -
If Hudler accepts arbitration with no intention of going to it, that blocks the ability for teams to offer him an offer. That is what Filppula did last season. He accepted arbitration and negotiated with Holland in order to not go to arbitration. It was his way of saying check this out, I don't want to go anywhere. If Hudler wants to stay here I think you will see him do the same. I am expecting Huds to accept arbitration and then sign a 2-3 year contract around 3 million per season.
-
If Hudler is willing to sign a short term deal then renogotiate when he would be a UFA in 2 years I think Holland could make it happen. Don't be surprised if we only lose Sammy Chelios and COnklin from this years team.

Given the option of Filppula or Hudler I pick Hudler....to answer some of these posts. Given the option of Franzen or Hudler I choose Franzen, only because I don't know how much Holmstrom has left in the tank with all these Hernias... Given the concept of RFA, don't think it will happen. When a player accepts arbitration they cannot take an RFA form anymore. Last year I feel that the arbitration with Filppula was purely a formality and his way of saying he wasn't going anywhere. I think both sides felt a deal would be agreed upon before arbitration. I see the same thing happening with Huds. The Wings will offer him arbitration as a formality, and then he will accept, no offer sheet threats there now, and that they will agree before the arbitration hearing. I see him getting a 2 year 3 million per year contract... I call it now.

I think that Conks got the last Back to Back and Ozzie this one so that he can test them for the playoffs, Ozzie is doing a good job so far tonight; -

Agreed. You can tell this schedule is getting to them right now, they are playing flat, and are being outshot, oz looks okay, not good like last night though. -

Well Conkers played both games of the last back to back and won them both. I think Babcockles is testing them both to see who he wants in net come playoffs. -
