Not his fault, he made the save and the guy crashing the et got the rebound on the foot and it bounced in...not ozzies fault at all. -

I'm not going to lie. I think Mac is around over certain other players because of his leadership more than anything. I know Murphy has talked about how active he is on the bench with talking to the other players, and it seems like he is like having an extra coach out there when he isn't on the ice. -

Anyone else notice Ozzie take the puck with him at the end of the period. I wonder why... -

McCarty is looking good last few games...Looks like he wants to force Kopey or Malts out when there is a healthy lineup... -

My VS.HD is not working, and my normal VS has no volume... Anyone else with this problem??? -
They are eligible for a pick if he becomes a UFA or eligible to be drafted, he can do neither because sadly he is not alive. That is why #1 they shouldn't be eligible. and #2 they show no class in attempting to do so.

I'm glad I picked him up in my fantasy league the day he signed. I've always really liked Parrish, and was surprised that the Islanders didn't sign him before he went elsewhere.
-
Absolutely Classless...That is about all I have to say.
-
Yeah for signability issues. A guy that makes 500k is not leaving because of issues with re-signing him...Good try though. My point was this, that in the new NHL, the only tough guys that stick are the ones that are good overall players as well.

Laraque has been on 4 different teams in 4 years since the lockout... Godard has been on 3 teams in 4 years since the lockout... Downey has been on 3 teams since the lockout as well... Apparently I'm not the only person that thinks these players are replacable roster spots....7 NHL GMs agree with me....

I don't think fighting is unimportant, I think that having somebody that only fights and cannot play hockey is worthless. Everyone was so upset when Brad Norton was sent down 2 years ago...He is currently unemployed...My point is that the enforcers that can play hockey stay in the NHL, the ones that cannot (Downey) do not...I would love an enforcer that skated well and played smart defense, those are hard to come by... And I believe I concluded my point stating that whats the difference between Downey or McCarty in the press box when the team is healthy...because when the team is healthy that is where the one that is up will be. Those guys in GR I mentioned were not for fighting. I was saying I'd rather bring up their talent then Downey's slightly above average fists... EDIT: I love fighting BTW, I just don't want to sacrifice talent for somebody who can barely skate, but has above average, but not top par fighting ability.

Yes let us recall a guy who is pointless with a -1 +/- in the AHL, that will sure turn the team around... They definitely would be better then 8-2-2 with Downey playing 4 minutes a game... The only 3 players on Grand Rapids that merit NHL duty at this point in time are Helm, Ericsson and Leino, and there isn't room for them, why would there be room for Downey... Plus Mac is only playing every night because Franzen is out...if Franzen were healthy Mac wouldn't play..so the difference between Aaron Downey eating Nachos in the Press Box or McCarty eating popcorn when the team is healthy is not a concern to me.

Honestly I think that maybe they learn that Marty isnt a spring chicken and they start to give him a 55 game workload after this season...granted it was a fluke injury, but it is also time to prepare for what life without Marty could be like in NJ...and its a scary thought for Devils fans.

1. Samuelsson is having a very good season this year, and I think it is safe to say he will play out his contract and be gone at the end of the year, but I think he has earned his spot on this team, and although he is my whipping boy has done nothing to merit a trade at this point. 2. I also really like Kopecky, but he plays well on an every 2-3 game basis so far, and is not using his size to fill the Dallas Drake void, thus he could easily find himself the 13th forward. 3. Everyone does, but I think he is better suited playing 20 minutes a night then 5 minutes a night, and then joining the 3rd line next season 4. Yes, but that is through 8 games....and I think it was 3 last year in Detroit...He needs a whole season, consistantly performing in the AHL, then I think he will be ready (possibly as soon as next season) When the team is winning why have a huge roster turnaround?

I sit back and enjoy the fact that despite a poor start my team is still one of the best in the league. I give it until Chelios comes back or Franzen is confirmed to miss 10 games, and then I make a move or two. Those moves are as follows. If Franzen is out...Call up Leino and place him on the second line with Zetterberg. When Chelios is back, pick one Lebda, or Meech, whichever is not fitting (at this point Lebda) waive him, if he clears keep him, injuries happen and recall waivers are not your friend. If he is claimed, Ericsson just moved up the depth chart to first call up in case of injury. Other then that I wait another month. If Leino is still tearing up the AHL I try my options and possibly send Mac to GR and give Leino a shot demoting Kopecky and Maltby to a 12/13 platoon. If Leino has slowed down in the AHL, I leave my team as is, hope it stays healthy and let Babcock do his thing.

I'm not worried about Ozzie he is 5-1-2, the whole team has been off early, and he looked tremendous against Vancouver. Scoring is up this year, the new rule that a puck of the post, and that all PPs start in the zone is bringing scoring up. Things wil settle as the year goes on. A bigger concern then Ozzie is the high turnover numbers, and the lack of consistantly solid play from our defence.

Frustrating game altogether...Wings didnt play particularly well, took a lot of dumb penalties, and the FSNPacific feed is horrible... Hopefully they pull this out and make my 4 hours of sleep I am going to get worth one point. -

In general I agree...that is not how the game has been called though... I like consistancy one way or the other. -

I think that both teams have been very undisciplined... I just think the refs have been over sensitive with the whistle and turned it into a special teams matchup, though I do not feel that it has been called unfairly. -

Really I think its Sammy's first bad game in like 3-4 games... Cleary is a 2nd line PP 3rd line guy... Huds is inbetween being a 2nd and 3rd liner, and you need Filppula at center with Franzen out...so the lines are what they need to be... On a positive Kopey has played a pretty good game... Its just a shame that its been all special teams and the 3rd and 4th lines have been riding the pine pony... -

They are talking about the size of goalie pads shrinking.... In fear that they'll need a new goalie once the pads are smaller... -

Its Ozzies best game yet. No fault to a goalie on letting in a 5-3 goal ever... -

Mostly agreed...the hooks and holds, and interferences are getting a tad sensitive though...
