I love how all the Pad bashers are nowhere to be found during the actual GDT and they come out from their hiding places on his first mistake of the game. EDIT: I will admit that he and Sammy are my whipping boys though. I shower them with loving hate when things dont go well.

If Kopecky would start hitting people harder I would be very pleased with his play. Regardless I have been pleased. He has played well, just needs to be a bit more physical

Everyone on the Hossa-Datsyuk-Holmstrom line looks good, they just seem to lack chemistry so far. Once they get comfortable it will be scary.

The HD feed on Center ICe is FSNDetroit. The Cleary-Filppula-Sammy line has looked good to me all season

Lilja has looked good to me in both games, and he is one of our best PK defenceman due to his shot blocking ability.... He goes nowhere...

What confuses me is I keep hearing that McCarty and Howard will count against the 23 man roster. I thought the point of IR was to replace a guy on the IR so that they don't count against your roster....

I saw this and instantly cracked up. It is 100% true. He made stupid errors in the defensive zone and he failed to move the puck out. On top of that he doesn't bring much on the PK or seem to block shots from what I saw. Meaning that he would never fit in the lineup unless Lilja was injured. Stuart coming back eliminated the need for Quincey since we have two big hitters already in Kronner and Stewie.

I think that IF the wings carry a 13th forward it is going to be McCarty. Helm and Leino need to play, not to be the 13th forward. I could see one of them making it and maltby and kopecky rotating with each other possibly, but not those guys to sit in the press box. In terms of Downey or McCarty, I chalk it up to straight up my own preference. Downey dug his own grave for me last night when he ran away like a frightened puppy from Peters and got the only penalty. I understand that it was not the right time to fight since the wings had the momentum, but he got involved and backed out, he should have let the thing slide if he had no intention of a throw down, and not cross checked peters two times... It was a bad play at the end of the last game of the pre-season, and I was not impressed.

i wouldn't be surprised to see the Wings still trade a d-man at the end of camp and then carry 14 forwards now, meaning one of McCarty or Downey, and one of Helm or Leino.

I thought Lilja looked great in the Canadiens game. Lebda was typical Lebda, he didn't look bad or good, was just kind of their and solid (aka a good #6 or 7 defenseman) while Quincey looked out of place at times. I don't think he moves his feet well enough in his own zone, and it causes him to take a few to many penalties. I don't know I think that Quincey or Lebda are the two that should be on thier way out possibly.

I wasn't saying that it was. I was just saying that is my most vivid memory of those two on the ice together thats all.

All I can think of about Sammy playing with Cleary whenever they say Sammy shoots and Cleary drives the net is... Puck...Face...Jaw...Break...Cleary...Out...

All I know is that if he cant trade Schneider no Selanne....and I like the sounds of that.
