My logic on that isn't that it can't be but that if they thought it was, they would have rushed him to get it attended to and not waited 3 days.
-
In my opinion it was too much time off. I would have started the series on wednesday.

I hope that Franzen is okay. A blood clot could be a serious health concern for him. Get well Stein...Let it be a concussion, or just sinuses...

Nope....at least not if you slash a guy in the ankles, or trip a guy skating backwards that is nowhere near the play...both cool.
-
I agree they did both deserve a fine.

Ozzie was in the wrong, I 100% agree. But being provoked doesn't make what Ribiero did okay. Chris Simon was provoked when Hollweg concussed him, was his tomohawk chop okay...NO... I'm not saying Ribiero's was close to Simon's. Just that being provoked is not an excuse to use the stick as a weapon.

I bet if it was an octopus in his hands that he swung at Ozzie, it would have been a much bigger deal.

WCF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 2, Stars 1

I just thought it was funny that a guy with a face shield for a broken nose was challenging a guy with a face shield for a broken jaw to physical combat... -
I agree

only problem is that what I bolded is the only unbiased part of your email. They will not take it seriously. When emailing those kind of things you need to be 120% professional for them to even consider taking it seriously. Best thing to do is take the evening to cool down from the emotion of the play and write a calm email in the morning.

The slight personal joust there is uncalled for. I'm just saying, according to Osgood in the post game interview it was the ribs. I will take him at his word for this since it was him. There is no protection on the side of the chest. It would hurt to be hit in the side with a hockey stick where there is no protection, anybody should feel pain if that happened to them.

Well said
-
A weak shot wouldnt have broken the stick...and I saw the stick broken on the ice on the tv...
-
If hit in the side of the chest in the ribs, as ozzie says he was, there is no protection there, and it would hurt. ANd being hit by 100 mph pucks does indeed hurt...its just expected, so you brace yourself, an unexpected hit warrants such a reaction as Oz gave, not as intense (he sold it a bit) but pain yes and I myself (a goalie) would fall to the ice if someone did that to me...
-
Yes its all a little bias in here...Ozzie is our man through and through right now...8-0 since he came in...if a fly landed on him funny and it irritated him this whole board would kill every fly in sight hoping it was that fly... The emotion of the initial event also feeds the bias remarks... That being said, and as I touched in the GDT...Ozzie did clip Ribiero with the butt end a bit, but that is no excuse to slash at a player. That is the same style swing Simon used, only Simon hit a guy in the throat and not the chest. Since Ozzie is okay, I only expect, or feel 1 game is deserved... But the teams best offensive player out for game 3 down 2-0 in the series.... I think that its all it would take to send the dallas stars the message that that BS will not be toletrated. Ribiero...Pronger would be proud of you for that one...Pronger would definately be proud.

He knew Rebiero was going by, as a goalie you know whats going on, and you are trained to use peripheral vision quite well. He definately knew... But it doen't warrent that reaction -

No way does he deserve that. I think that anything more than 2 is too much for that, but it should probably recieve a one gamer. -

Because a professional announcing crew for a National, and not a local broadcast, should show no bias one way or the other. -

Ozzie is okay according to Babs... I liked his response too, "In the pre game conferences, I am told the league will review any controversy after the game, we'll wait and see." -

If you take a 98 mph shot to the shect you sure as hell flinch but you expected it, you shake it off and get on with the game though. When the game is over and you arent expecting a 2 hander to the what i thought looked like shoulder...it catches you off gaurd and hurts a little more.
