    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

The Wings have become one of the most consistantly dominant teams in the NHL since the '90's due to Devallano and Holland...I trust him through hell and high water, even when I don't agree with him.

I'm 90% sure that Hossa will be a Hab... They just said that last years first trade was 11:30...

Link I think that would be an alright move. The guy is 6'5" 250 lbs...thats impressive if he uses it. I don't know enough about him to know if he does though. I tend not to watch the Make Beliefs.

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

I'm wondering if the Wings are going to get anything big done. All the big names have been linked to teams that aren't the Wings in the forefront. I have a feeling its going to be character players and depth guys for us this season. Which to be honest I am not upset about at all.

I think Lapointe is probably going to the West Coast if they didn't complete it yet...its getting late...

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

I think that that is a valid point. I think the Wings will not be able to pry Stafford away though, plus he is hurt. Well so is Kronner... Anyway...I think that Campbell to SJ is more feasable, and that the Wings will get Stuart or Salei.

I would do Kronner for Campbell AND Stafford but not for just Campbell.

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

According to TFP.com the wings have interest in Campbell. Not the physical presence needed, but a helpful player on the point none-the-less

Rob Blake will waive no trade clause

Man so I think the Wings and Avs are slowly rebuilding thier 90's teams... Forsberg, Blake McCarty....I think Feds... (As someone said earlier) Lemieux will come out of retirement as will Roy....and Larionov will come out of retirement for the WIngs, who will trade for Shanny as well and the Huge line fight will occur again.

    Flyers acquire Prospal from Tampa

Good trade for Philly. A mid-level prospect and a 2nd pick for Prospal. Seems like we could get Fedorov for about the same thing, maybe even less because Prospal is better than Feds lately.

    Flyers acquire Prospal from Tampa

Prospal is one guy I kind of wanted the Wings to get. Oh well I won't lose sleep over it.

    Robert Lang

I think that anyone that ever has him will be unhappy with him... He Is Lazy And He Sucks I would not like Lang back. There is a reason Detroit let him go, and he is under contract for 4 million dollars, which is 1.5 million too much...

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

I 100% agree that he will never be as good as Datsyuk...I was just pointing out that he has scored more goals now this year than Datsyuk did in his first 2 seasons, Datsyuk had more points though because he is a better all around player. Filppula will turn into a consistant 20-30 goal scorer depending on the year, and will only get about 20-30 assists as well. In short he is a 50-60 point man on a yearly basis, I'll take that on the second line/second PP any day of the week.

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

By no means do I think that Filppula is as good as Datsyuk, nor do I think he will be, but for the sake of comparison: Datsyuk's rookie year (24 years old): 70 GP 11 G 24 A 35 P Filppula's rookie year (22 years old): 73 GP 10 G 7 A 17 P Winner Datsyuk at 2 years older Datsyuk's second year (25 years old): 64 GP 12 G 39 A 51 P Filppula's second year SO FAR (23 years old): 64 GP 16 G 12 A 28 P Winner Datsyuk, yet Filppula is on pace to have a season comparable to Datsyuk's rookie season when he was one year older than Filppula is now. And Datsyuk didn't score as many goals as Filppula has this year in either of his first 2 years, and he was older. So although I am NOT saying Filppula is the next Datsyuk, I am saying that he is still young and his statistics are comparable to what Datsyuk's were when he is in at a younger age. He will not be a first line center, but he will be a great 2nd line player... and I for one would like to see what he becomes...

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

It is newsworthy and is buried in the name Hossa in all the other threads. I think its coll to give it its own thread. I'm happy they are going to keep flap-jack he is still really young and will be a good player that will not be expensive.

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

Flames announced that they will not trade Tanguay TSN So it is gone from Hossa, Sundin, Richards, Jokinen, Tanguay To Hossa, Richards, Jokinen So the prices just went up again...especially since Montreal had been linked to Tanguay and Hossa, so I expect IF those rumors are true, they will push even harder for Hossa. Especially after 3 poor showings in a row.
