I won't lie, that was a blind quote of mine, haha. Upon looking into these prospects, Justin is a two-way forward and Kindl is a defenceman. So, clearly, Holland didn't want another scoring forward at that point and that's why he passed on Latendresse.
-
Most DEFINITELY Z. He's more distinguishable in picture 9, but that's totally him; and there's no denying Datsyuk's mis-shapen head beside him, haha.

I read "Yzerman: The Making of a Champion" by Douglas Hunter; that was a great read. It talks all about Yzerman's history - childhood to post-lockout - and talks to many people that have played with or coached him along the way. http://www.triumphbooks.com/filebin/fixed_.../157243676X.jpg

Personally, I like Kindl, and I've heard nothing but Praise for Abdelkalkdlkd;lalkjer whereas Latendresse only has 30 goals in two years. Chances are, these two will score more than 30 in their first two years once they've been trained in the AHL for a while.

Man, I effing love Draper. Easily my favorite Wing.

I think the trade was fine considering Bert was a rental player. I'm quiet content with losing Matthias considering who we still have coming up in our system.

If the only reason you want Shanny back is for his fighting, what would we do with McCarty?

Should Sergei Fedorov's number be retired in the future?
red_wing replied to Chaldean's topic in General
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see Fedorov in the same class as Yzerman, Linsday, Howe etc. Fedorov could score, but now is washed up. Yzerman was never washed up. Howe was never washed up. Lindsay was never washed up. Fedorov's number will not be retired. Nor should Osgood's for that matter, honestly, I don't think he's worthy. -
Gratton is barely even a grinder. He doesn't do a whole lot. Wee Whaler: Although I'm not an established member of this message board, I'd like to tell you to tone it down a bit there bud. As much fun as it is to stir stuff up on another message board where you know no one, and could care less if you are a part of, it bugs the rest of us. So let it go. -Spencer

I think Calder's doing fine, but Lang is a prime example of the old, experienced players comming to Motown, and effing up their careers. Of course, you look at Chelios who is doing fine still. But that's off topic. Should Bert remain a Wing? For a lesser price, yes. If he doesn't step it up, then he's not worth the money he's making.
-
Although this is a dead topic, I love Cory Emmerton and personally can't wait to see him in a Wings uni. When we drafted him, I did some digging and liked what I saw.
-
I've been keeping an eye on this guy for awhile now, and he's looking damn good. We have some good prospects comming our way. Look at our defensive ones mostly, they will sure rip it up soon enough.

edicus, is that Jesus from Penny Arcade?

I don't remember calling anyone names, but I agree with you. When's Manny back anyways? The Wings seem to be picking up steam now, but we need, I mean, NEED Manny back. Off topic: I wonder if Legace's nickname is "Legs"
-
Wow. I like this guy. Agreed, our D is way too soft. I wish some people from this board could be GM...
-
Agreed. And the only other person I could think of would be Maltby or Draper's twin brother, Kris Draper.
-
Ok, I still don't think I'm at fault for anything here, but I appologize if I am. FatCat: You seriously are one of the coolest people here so far, I respect you, and now I shall stop
-
Wow. Just...wow. Lookin' very good
-
Unfourtunatly . I want Osgood gone. But of course, no other team would take him. Except maybe Anaheim, or Washington.
-
Don't worry about it man. You're defenitly one of my favorite members already. You seem to know your hockey really well, and I respect/appreciate that. Again, don't sweat it dude. Sorry if I came off a little offensive.
-
Yeah, he did request a trade. The only reason he signed an extension last year was to be with Thornton, and as we all know, Joe was traded. Murray would be a great addition to the Wings, and I'd gladly accept him and Boynton for Holmstrom and Lang. We are super deep at center, and Murray is an upgrade from Holms. I mean, Holmstrom sits in front of the net on the PP, and Murray can shoot on the PP. Perfect
-
I'd do the trade above only if I was certain that I was getting a goalie as good as Legace from elsewhere. Otherwise, that trade would be utterly stupid.
-
They may say that, but when you actually watch a game, like I do, you can see that his glove hand isn't that great. How can you call yourself a hockey fan if you base all your opinions on what other people have said? FatCat: I seem to recall the 'Nucks or the Caps putting a goalie on waivers that could have performed better than Ozzie, and I felt like calling up Holland and letting him know. I still don't see why Kenny demands on waiting on Osgood. He's old, and past his prime. This part really spoke to me. Thanks for pointing out my wrongs, and let me never make the Almighty Sam angry again. End of sarcasm. Dude, it's a forum, does it look to you like I care what you think?

Why does everyone talk about trading Draper? Drapes is a HUGE, and I mean HUGE part of the Wings. He kills penalties. Last year he centerd the best defensive line in the NHL. This year he centers ONE OF the best defensive lines. He is a HUGE leader in the locker room. Most likely captain next year. Give him time guys. I mean, look who he's playing with. That's why he's not putting up great numbers. If the Wings were to move him up to a line with Shanny or Zetts, he would be flying. Have faith young Wings fans
