To me these signings mean that the rangers think that Marc Staal is ready to be an NHL defensman next season If Staal is ready the blueline will be pretty good with guys like Rozsival playing well and Tyutin, Pock, and Girardi all with some more experience under their belts.

It looks like the Rangers are still about 8 million under the cap not including the RFA's so I would think that about 5-6 million goes to Lundqvist next season they will make some trades and hopefully re-sign Avery and Shanny. My guess is Ortmeyer, Isbister, Rachunek and maybe Prucha are done as Rangers.

I don't think there is a chance that the Rangers let Lundy go. He does not want to go anywhere he loves it in NY the Ranges realize he is one of the best in the world he will be a Ranger for a long time. I think Shanny will take the hit like Lidstrom did he wants a cup and he has already made his money I think he will be back. Me thinks Rangers Vs Wings in the cup finals. Hello ratings!

As a Ranger fan I think it would be unwise to trade Montoya away, He was an AHL allstar and he has shown signs that he is going to be a very good goaltender he just needs to be more consistant on a regular basis. And we all know it usually takes goalies a bit more time to develop into an NHL ready player. As for Montoya going to the Wings, I don't see it happening unless Holland does not think that Howard will be an good NHL goalie. I think Montoya will likely end up bieng packaged in a deal to bring either a second line center or a defensman to New York neiter of which the Wings have to offer.

Glad to see most Wings fans supporting the Rangers. It is unbelievable how the Refs favor the Sabres in this series. When I heard Islander fans griping about how the refs were calling their games I thought they were just bieng homers but now I realize that the Sabres are getting the benefit of the doubt from the nhl. This must be payback from the 99 finals. Now that I have watched the Sabres intently for the past few games I know that they are very beatable. Heres to an origional 6 cup final :beerbuddy:

Montoya Isn't leaving New York any tome soon. He will be traded when he is ready to compete for a starting job in the NHL. The Wings are more likely to trade for Kevin Weekes than Al Montoya.
