    Who would you expect to play better?! Exactly.

    It's like the difference between Clark Kent and Superman, or Peter Parker and Spiderman. You can't control when someone turns into a superhero. The only thing you know is that nothing will ever be the same. The only thing now to be afraid of is that someone will find out what is his kryptonite.

    franzen and bert have played well together

    holmstrom plays great with Z, okay with others

    flip needs more time up there with Z

    and the rest i think will fill in great

    they cant lock down Z and dats if they are on 2 seperate lines

    You bring up a good point. When did Dats and Ovechkin spend enough time together to become best friends? Surely not the olympics, and I can't think of another time they played together.

    They played together in Moscwo Dynamo during the lockout season and won the russian league championship, so I belive they know each other quite well. Besides Ovechkin in his interviews several times mentioned Dats as his friend and the most skilled player in NHL.

    I think your leaving out some important numbers when it comes to getting a contract done. First of all ....

    NHL Totals:GP:352 G:102 A:215 Pts:317+/-:77PIM: 97 like it or not regular season counts for alot, and those are some pretty damn good numbers. Secondly: look at the number of games played in said year. After 02 (the cup win, see no reason to complain about him that year,) not much of a chance to get alot done.Games played is a stat often overlooked when you take out the 21 from 02. Besides the stiff goaltending faced, which is so easily overlooked by fans, but not Wings brass.

    In comparison everyone on heres golden boy Z, 11 pts. in 22 games. exclude last year you get 5 pts. in 16 games. Yet after one year he's considered the answer and a perenial playoff performer? :rolleyes: I mean I like Z he's the man, but the bias is dumb. It's clear some just don't want Dats around, that's better to be said, then to act like playoff goals are the only reason. Anyway, sign the guy up, and I'll let his play continue to do the talking. :thumbup:

    Not only is the Marathon coverage scheduled until 11am PST, NBC has decided that they don't want to clip the NHL coverage completely, so they will graciously let us watch the last hour of the Red Wings game! Yipee!

    I mean...I would love to watch the game in it's entirety, but not at the expense of hours of grafitti watching! :P

    Next season...it's DTV, CenterIce, and no more bitching.

    Well, I'm from LA and I do have Center Ice, but the game was blacked out!!! So I just watched last hour of it on NBC. :crazy:
