IF!!!! Howie get suspended for THAT!! I will NEVER watch another NHL again!! I will be 100% done! If they want to market a little ***** and suspend anyone who sticks up for his team and himself, then they can have it! There is a reason why many superstars are going back to Europe! I believe that it is ok! I have seen Robidas from Dallas do something similar to those moves before. I think as long as you do not take a shot and keep a forward motion, everything is cool! Thats my understanding anyway!!

Great Question!! I think the league should look into what is considered not to be icing and when icing is waived off. Because there are many times I feel the goaltender can play the puck and doesn't because of the icing. I think if the Goalie does not have to leave his crease and can play the puck in his crease, that it should negate the icing call, just like a defensemen slowing up to let the puck get by them for icing!!

I think Cooke knew exactly what he was going to do and you can tell that he lined Savard up! Cooke has been known to do things like this and you could even call him a repeat offender. That fact alone deserves as suspension, however, the hit is not a suspendable offense which is terrible by the NHL standards. It is apparent that these guys like Cooke do not have respect for each other out there. Savard already shot the puck and was no longer a factor in the play, so my question is why even hit him???? I simply do not understand this and I think this is why players now get all pissed off when there is a clean hit because of the lack of respect.

For me, Wings hockey means alot! Is it everything? No. I don't typically miss a game regular season/ pre-season/ and Playoffs. I cannot remember the last time I missed a playoff game. My Girlfriend is great, she is trying very hard to get into hockey and she shares my pain if we lose and we are happy together when we win. She understands my passion and how deep it runs. I can tell you that Regular Season losses get me down for a couple of hours, but playoff losses get me down even more! Last June I was emotionally drained and felt as if I had been dumped. That feeling lasted for the entire summer. I have never felt like that before. I remember when we lost New Jersey in 95, I was no where near as disappointed as I was last year. I think the main difference is in 95 I wasn't expecting to win or maybe I didn't believe. Now I Believe and I think that is why it hurt so bad! Like others have said, I don't let the games ruin my life. Life is too short for that, but it does affect my mood. Great Thread Kwame!

Drake, Thanks for sticking up for the franchise! I was thinking about this today as well. With all of the success we have had over the last 20 years, we have attracted a a flowing of fans that seem to ***** everytime we loose a game! Or the fact we will not win 50 games this year, these are the people that want to burn down the house and start over! I was going to post a thread stating that if you have nothing positive to say about the team or the franchise, do not post anything at all! I am so sick of coming on here after we lose a game and seeing and reading all the bitching! This is the best site in the world when we win, but the worst when we lose! I understand that we are all fans, but this site is NOT designed to come on here and bring negative comments! I expect that from trolls from other teams, not from Wings fans! If you want to be negative, start your own site and do it there! Right now, we don't need anymore negative tone. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all! Thats all I got! Chicago reminds me of the Wings of 1995. All of the skill in the world, but were simply not able to finish for a couple of years. I understand the game is different now, but I just see the Hawks looking the the Wings from that year minus the lockout of the first half of the season. My prediction is that the Hawks will be in the Cup Final, but get swept by............... The Devils!! You heard it here first!

I Highly doubt that, we have another game tomorrow night, there is no way he is double shifting the D! I don't think that Big E's performance is the reason he is getting the night off, I think he is simply wore out. Thats what happeneds when you are out of the lineup for a period of time and then get back at it!

Let me ask a question, because I am not clear on the salary cap. IF the Wings waive Leino and May and they clear waivers (which I expect them to do) does that still shed their cap # off the roster? If they clear waivers they can be sent to GR if I am not mistaken. If they somehow trade Lebda and Meech for future draft picks that would be great! This next week should be interesting to say the least!

It seemed just like everyone has said on here that Olli was a cancer in the lockeroom, but yet none of the players or coaches said anything (which they typically do not). I simply think it is his production or lack thereof that got him to New York! I think he had 13 goals in 56 games for Calgary and was a ghost in the playoffs lastyear against Chicago! From what the guys on Roger Sports Net where saying lastnight is the fact Calgary had to make these moves because of cap issues and they needed scoring. I live just south of Nashville, and the Predators always compete well against us. It will be interesting to see what happens now that they are further up the standings than we are. The shoe is on the other foot today. There are some real nice people here in Tennessee and I think that is why many people decide to live in the Greater Nashville Area. Their fans support that team like no other, just when it looked like they were leaving the fan support went through the roof. If the team doesn't put themselves on the map, their fans certainly do!

I think that most cable companies carry Versus and so does Dish Network! If you have Center Ice with Direct Tv the game will be on the Center Ice Channels of Direct Tv. The NHL really needs to reconsider what channels they broadcast on, I swear the NHL has the worst TV netowrk deals out of any sport in the world. I mean you even get Fox Soccer Channel, but you can't get Versus, I think that says enough!

Keep in mind, and I hope that I am wrong, but I believe games that are on versus are NOT on gamecenter! I really hope that I am wrong for everyones sake that want to watch the Wings game tonight, but that is the way I remember it!

Shoot!!! I am just glad we will soon have options!! I have not been happy with Lame-O but I am willing to give him a chance with the full roster. If it doesn't work out then maybe he needs to spend a season in GR next year. As for Lebda, I don't mind him too much and he has played better lately. He is not the best D-man in the league but he does have speed and sometimes thats what gets his butt out of trouble. I have been pleased with Lebda or Meech all year, they have been put in a tough situation that we all knew they were not capable of. Lebda and Meech are role players so I can give them a break and they have done much better than I thought they would. The fact that the Wings are currently sitting in the 8th spot in the West is crazy! We are competing against teams that are for the most part healthy and have full rosters and yet we are still in the playoff hunt. It will be interesting to see what the team does when we have everyone back.

I for one have never seen it, but my roommate in the Fall of 2002 got to unlock the Cup out of Ken Daniles SUV. Ken was taking the Cup to his daughters Elementary School in West Bloomfield when he locked his keys in the SUV and the Cup. My Roommate worked for the towing company that worked for the Police Department (ETS Towing). He got to unlock the vehicle and actually pick the Cup up and got his picture with it. So, everytime I went to the fridge there would be the picture of him holding the Stanley Cup!! SO JEALOUS. He even called me while he was unlocking the car!! Oh, and Ken Daniels was a bit embrassed about locking his keys up in the SUV!!

I applogize! Maybe the Palace was renovated, because I remember going to the Vipers Games and in the program it said it only held 17,000. Its possible the program did not include the suites. There will be more suites at the Palace than at the Joe, so that would be cool!! Not to mention I will be living in Grand Blanc by then, so who knows it may work out for me to get season tickets!! Its still wouldn't be the Joe or Downtown, I know that Downtown isn't great in the Winter (like someone said) but its still Detroit, our hometown. Maybe I'm just wierd!

If we play like we did today, we will have no problem passing the Kings,Canucks,Flames, Coyotes, and Predators. We play like we did against the Islanders, we will be golfing in April.

The other thing that would stink about the Wings playing at the Palace is the fact they will lose 3,000 seats. The Palace only holds 17,000 and the Joe hold 20,066 (ok 3,066 seats lost). I guess on a positive more games will sell out. I don't know if I am in favor of the move, we would lose that feel that the Joe gives, can't really describe it unless you experience it! Plus, I enjoy Downtown Detroit and Auburn Hills is a joke anyway.

I'm sick of this crap too!! I am considering cancelling my Center Ice and completly giving up on the NHL. This is a waste of money!!! I just cannot believe what has happened this year with these s*** calls!!
