Thats funny about the Bills!! I am a huge Bills fan and there is no such thing as any advantage for them anymore! If they played 12 games and 12 times the other team didn't show up they would still only be 6-6 Back on topic, I could see a Toronto/Montreal outdoor game! Maybe if they pulled that crappy roof off from Olympic Stadium in Montreal, they could have it there!

All of the speeches were excellent! Lucky Luc's was one of the best. Seeing his Father crying in the front row and just how inspirational his speech was. Stevie Y's speech was Stevie being Stevie!! He is the best and always will be the best! I still don't think he gets the credit he deserves, but if Team Canada wins the Gold, he will finally get the attention he deserves. Although we all know he wouldn't want the attention! It just amazes me how humble this guy is! How many Captains would have given the Cup to their Coach to skate around the ice first?? Not many! But Stevie did!! Its the little things he did that make him the person that he is!!

I like that Idea, but I wish the NHL would just simply go to a soft cap! No one loses with a soft cap! I think the NBA uses a soft cap!

I must say, I did get a little choked up, but tonight will be the true test!! LOL His jersey retirement ceremony was hard not to get choked up during, but now that he is going into the Hall of Fame it will be tough to not get choked up! Congratulations to Steve Yzerman for everything he has done for the Wings, Detroit, Michigan, and Canada! I still don't think he gets the credit he deserves!

This is one of those respect hits! Drury was not in the play and in fact was behind the play, there is NO reason to hit him, let alone use your shoulder. I have been defending guys on here lately, but I cannot defend Glencross here!!

I may be wrong on this, but I believe that a player must play 82 regular season games to get his rookie status taken away, I think that is per the NHLPA! I have been disappointed in Rafalski as well. He is making waaaaaaaaaay too much for the way he is playing. But hey, its a long season, so maybe he is just struggling, he is been a part of our sucess over the last couple of years so I am willing to let him work through it!

Does the ID have to be from a Michigan School?? I live in TN and attend a school here, but I visit alot and would totally take advantage of that!

After the Wings won the Cup in 97, they had a open house at the Joe and you had to stand in line (very long line) to get an autograph. They couldn't guarntee who you would get, but you would indeed see someone and get an autograph! I missed McCarty by 10 minutes and Yzerman by 30 minutes, but when I finally got to the front of the line, there was a young rookie by the name Tomas Holmstrom! He signed by mini Stanley Cup. I still have it today on my desk!! I also have a Nick Lidstrom signed puck and an autographed Zetterberg jersey, as well as an Osgood autograph photo. When I was younger my step mom got me a Yves Racine autograph! He was in her store for a Spartan Foods Promo! I have Vinnie Johnsons autograph, Ken Kals, and George Blaha. Thats about it for me!

I have to agree with Shoreline! He was aiming high, there is no doubt! I think that main issue here is that players need to be taught how to defend themselves! Turning yourself face first into the boards is not the way to do that! The kid is 16 and probably a bit young for the league! I think the Erie player saw an opportuity for a hit and took it. It looks worse because of the aftermath! I hope the young man makes a full recovery!!

Thats too bad! I like Malkin! Eventhough he beat us lastyear, I have no problem getting beat by a better player (it sucks) but I actually respect the guy. Crosby on the other hand, not so much!! Get well soon Geno, the league needs ya!

Holmstrom is a perfect example of what this organization is about, Hardwork and Dedication. Everytime he has fallen, he has gotten right back up and performed! There is a reason why the Wings Organization treats players they way they do! Holmstrom fits into the category that Yzerman, Lidstrom, McCarty, Maltby, Osgood, and Draper fit into! That category would be the nucleus of the franchise, Dats and Z probably belong there too. That is the reason why these guys have never been let go because they show all of the new players how the Wings organization is run, some of these guys may not put up 50 points this year, but its what they do off the ice for the TEAM, stuff that will never be brought up here on LGW. I am so happy that Homer is putting up the numbers he has this year, not because of JakeRyan, but for the people who are not even Wings fans that have said Homer is done! I get so tried of hearing on the radio or TV about how Homer is about finished!! I personally thought lastnights game was his best of the year so far!!

I'll tell you this, I had the honor of standing by the Wings bench in Colorado and there was no one more focused that Bert! I think the reason he had a good game on Saturday is becuase I got to tell him "Go Get'em Bert", he then looked at me and nodded! But he is focused and I think he is under pressure to perform, so I think once he calms down his numbers will go up!

For the people who have said the Wings are not playing well, I think you need to watch the games a bit more. Sure our record does not look good at all in the Free Press, but the last four games I thought the Wings have carried the play, we simply are not getting the bounces. The LA game we got a couple of good bounces but since then not much. The first Colorado game Anderson was amazing and that left the door open for a comeback. The Phoenix game again, no good bounces our way and a questionable call on the tying goal, then you have the second Colorado game (which I atteneded). The Wings controlled the play the entire game, outshot Colorado 49-26 (I think) Jimmy Howard played well, again just ran into a hot goalie!! Tonight, suprise, Robbie Lou is getting hot again and just in time for the Wings to come to town. One thing I have noticed with Louie, is that when teams jump on him early, he tends to lose his confidence. Look what Calgary has done to him this year, 10 goals against in 2 games! I believe that both games Calgary jumped out to 3 or 4 nothing leads!! I think the Wings have turned the corner and I feel they could get three wins in Western Canada for the first time since 2007 and we all know what happened that summer!!!!

Three hits in 5 days!! WOW!! Anyway, my viewpoint is this is the type of disrespectful hit! It didn't look all that bad, the end result was bad! Ruutu did not need to finish that check, Tucker was out of the play and he just passed the puck. His back was turned, however it is not easy for a player to stop on a dime when he is committed to the hit, it wasn't like the hit was some 5 seconds after Tucker released the puck! I'll say penalty sure, suspension probably, just because of the hit from behind!

I have to agree!! Hit was legal and nothing should be done to Richards! Its too bad Booth sustained an injury! Guys have got to quit looking down and away from the play while in the middle of the ice. I said the same thing in the Towes hit!! Is the hit respectful? maybe not, but if guys stop hitting when they have the chance, chances are they will never get the chance again! Everyone can be replaced! This will be a boring league if this type of hitting is taken out!

I am flying out of Nashville at 930 am and will be in Denver at 130 local time! Then flying home on Sunday!! Should be a blast! Exactly Harold!! I was more upset that a Sedin Breakaway was negated because three Hawks players want to jump Mitchell!! I understand that Towes is one of their stars, but when you have your head down and crossing center ice, I would have to tell my star player, "Sorry Dude" I'm not saying that someone on the Hawks should have later on did something as a payback hit! You are taught as a young hockey player not to skate with your head down!! Towes is no exception! Petty soon the NHL is going to have a "roughing the star player penalty"! CRAZY!!

The was a great CLEAN hit!! The thing that pissed me off was the fact that after the hit Vancouver had a breakaway with Sedin and the play was stopped because Chicago players went after Mitchell and wanted to fight!! AFTER A CLEAN HIT!! I just don't understand this game sometimes! People want hitting and then a "star player" gets caught with his head down and all of a sudden this is a terrible thing!! Not to mention Mitchell then gets a penalty because he was involved in the tussel after the CLEAN HIT!! Someone please explain this to me!!

Does anyone else think that this road trip is exactly what we needed!! I have this feeling this trip will help the team gel. With all of the sloppy play and what not, I think the main problem is the fact there is so many new face in the line up. This is exactly what happened in 2006-2007 season! I think this is the trip were the Wings will have the rookie dinner, which is a tradition. I'm not sure what day they will do the dinner, but since they are in Phoenix, I bet it was today. I just think this trip will go along way in helping this team get there wheels under them. I do like the line changes! Again I think it has alot to do with the longer trip and less distractions as well!! Thoughts???

As Darren Pang would say "Holy Jumpin" $700 for 2 tickets is crazy. Im going to the game in Denver next week and there is 5 of us all together and the cost was $650 for 5 tickets!!! I I think the price was $130 a piece! Im not sure what the finance charges were, but I will know when I get there!! Im sure that Arena will be sold out next Thursday when the Wings are in town!!
