I'm not sure what to think about this! But what the heck, if he plays lights out, then maybe we give him a shot, if not no big deal! If this is to add competition for Howard and he doesn't beat out Cloutier, then I would have to think Jimmy Howard will probably be waived. I say waived because we have Larsson and Pearce that deserve a shot in the AHL and I think Howard has been given all the chances in the world to improve and simply has not gotten any better in GR!! Personally, I think Howard will beat out Cloutier! Just my 2 cents!

I wouldn't mind seeing the Wings wear the third jersey on special occasions like New Years Eve game, that seems to be a tradition. But I would not want them wearing a 3rd jersey all of the time! The Wings have always been about tradition and there is no reason to change it now!

I really hate this!! I get soooooo pissed when I see young guys like Kane who have all the talent in the world, and then go do something like this!! Its not like he couldn't afford to pay the damn fare!! What he needs is some jail time and a suspension, if you let him walk this time, he'll do it again! Look at all of the other athletes that do this crap!!

Sammy use to piss me off alot, but just when he would get you sooooo pist, he would net a huge goal!! It was like Robert Lang, Langer use to piss me off and then all of a sudden he would net a big goal. With Williams, he use to piss me off and then he got traded, that being said I thought Williams had plenty of time here to produce and show what he had, but his cry baby attitude with Babcock was a bit much for me! However I think that everyone deserves a second chance!! I would perfer Sammy, but he wanted money, and I cannot blame him! At this point, we are not expecting Williams to do anything, so if he posts 50 points than I think we will all be happy!!

The Jason Williams deal has got me thinking that this was a last resort kind of thing! Holland did not want to wait on Grier who wanted to wait until September to decide where he wanted to go! I think that is fair on Hollands part because he wants to make sure the player can hack it on this team! Am I happy about Williams?? HELL NO!! I didn't like him when he was here the first time and I was excited when Williams was traded! I for one was not happy about Hossa last year, I think he is a bit overrated and I was never a big fan of his, but we gave it a shot lastyear and it almost worked out. That being said, I have followed this team since 1984 and I have the all the confidence in the world that we will defend the Western Conference Title again for the 3rd striaght time. There are no other teams in the west that can roll 3 consistant lines like we can. Ozzie will be good as well, and our D is deep, again, there is no other team in the west that can roll out 3 defensive pairs like the Wings! It all comes down to the playoffs, and since Hossa only netted 6 goals in the show, I fully believe anyone that is worth 7 million needs to do more and we all knew he was a playoff ghost! I thought Hossa was a bust and he proved me right. So if Williams nets 7 goals in the playoffs they we just saved 5.5 million. I have always believed in this team even during the crappy years and a signing of a guy who I am not happy about is not going to make me jump ship!! This just shows how many of you are real bandwagon fans, I understand you all have opinions, but have some confidence in the team and the organization and especially Kenny Holland! Remember it is only a 1 year deal and that is a big plus at the trade deadline, JW will net 20 goals this year and that will help at the deadline!! WE WILL BE IN THE FINALS AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!!

Mannnnnnn, That would be so awesome to see that division, I could actually get excited about divisional games again. Lets face it Columbus, Nashville are not exactly division rivals, they may think they are, but seriously. Chicago/St.Louis are on the comeback trail, but it looks as if Chicago may tank again in a couple of years with cap issues and that leaves STL! Bring on the Original Six (or 5 in this case)!! I'm not real sure why the Islanders have lasted as long as they have. You have the Islanders, Rangers, Devils and Flyers all with in 150 miles of each other!! That would be like having (minus the population difference) teams in Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, and Lansing. I would like the Wings to move east! I think we would have more rivalries with the Flyers, Penguins, Leafs, Habs, Rangers, Caps, Bruins, than we have now with the Sharks, and Hawks!

I like the video's, but to have to pick just 20 goals is an injustice to what Steve Yzerman did on the ice! He scored 692 goals in the regular season, and I'm not sure the number in the playoffs. Everytime he put the puck in the back of the net, it was a HUGE goal!! Its not just the goals his guy scored, it is what he has done for the game, the city of Detroit, and the Detroit RedWings! That is what I will remember the most about Stevie Y! Thanks for sharing the video's!!!!

I am a little more hesitant to go out and sign anyone right now just because if someone does get injured, we will have to make a call to GR and bring someone up. With only having just over 1 million to play with thats not much room! Unless the injured player goes on LTIR like Lilja! Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we bring someone up for more than ten days then we have to add them to the payroll or risk a waiver. I think that is how it works!!!

I do believe the Wings can trade Hudler before the court hearing because he is still under contract here, that meaning we still have his "rights". I highly doubt any other team would offer at a trade!

I doubt Calder would be brought back, he didn't mesh well with Babcock! I wouldn't mind seeing Dandy or Arnason! I don't know too much about Tyler, but what the heck! I would like to see Bertuzzi back! I think he would be another Dallas Drake! we could use that next year!!!

I think the main reason the Wings will be better next year is ADVERSITY!! No one is going to pick these guys to do anything, it will all be about Chicago/SanJose/Rangers/Montreal, and everyone will forget about the Wings! This type of thing is what sparks this team!!!

Does anyone else think that teams are overpaying for UFA's today??? I am kind of happy that the Wings are not just signing someone just to sign someone! It shows that the Wings want to win for years to come, not just next year! The Chicago Blackhawks look like the team to beat on paper, but what will happen if they receive just one or two injuries! We all seen what happened when Havlat got injured on the forst game of the season a couple of years ago; that injury alone ended their season. Worst case, what if Hossa (God for Bid) sufferes a career ending injury?? I don't like these 10 to 12 year deals these guys are getting! Teams that ared doing this are locking themselves into something that will have a long term effect on their organizations! The reason I like what the Wings have done, is they have offered guys that have been with the organization since they were drafted: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Lidstrom. These guys have gotten the big deals, but I feel they have done their part not only for the team but the organization. I just don't understand how a team can offer a player a long term deal when the player has never had any ties to the team! Also, there are guys that are getting stupid deals today: Gaborik with the Rangers!! 7.5 per year!! ARE YOU CRAZY!!! The guy hasn't played a full season in almost 3 years!!! WTF!!! How about Steve Sullivan, 3.75 per year for 2 years!!! WTF!!! This guy hasn't played a full season in almost three years!!! Chris Neil 2 million a year for 4 years!! WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too much!! How about our old buddy Khabibulin! 3.75 million for 4 years, I still think that is high for a ok goaltender!! I know he has win a Cup, but lets face it, he is not the same goalie that he use to be! I'm not sure about LaRose and Knuble, But since I live in Nashville, Steve Sullivan stated that he wanted to play for a winning team, since he will be 37 next year he feels his time may be running out! Sully also has some health issues with his back, so not sure if it would be worth the risk. On the other hand he would bring the Dallas Drake type player we were missing lastyear!!

Isn't Hudler a RFA???? It says he is on the salary chart! I think he will be back for at least one season. If Hossa goes, then I see us resigning Sammy! I would say Sammy would resign at somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million a year hit! Which would leave just over 1 million to play with! I would love to see Hossa stay, but I understand the circumstances, hope he does well in LA or Minny!! (Just not against us)!!

Yeah this kid is going to be a stud!! I would say within 3 years he will be on the Wings roster! It seems when he is confident, he can produce like Pavs or Hank! From what I saw in the World Juniors, he was confident and boy did he produce, just ask Sweden!!

Picking Tatar is a great pick! This kid was a stud in the World Juniors, sure he isn't the flashy player like everyone seems to want, but he has skill and that is exactly what the Wings always draft. I am excited about this kid! He'll be on the roster in 3 years at the most!!

As much as I love Pronger being out of the West and now one of Cindy's biggest rivals, I just know that as soon as he even looks a Crosby he is going to piss and moan like he always does and Pronger will be suspended!! But I really really really really hope that he drives those two (Cindy and Malkin) right through the boards!!! Now it will be interesting to see how Pittsburgh does against a physical team in the east! I still think that Washington is the team to beat in the east, but Philly will be strong now as well even though they got rid of a great player in Lupul, I think this makes them the team they use to be when Lindros was there. Cannot wait until the first Pens/Flyers Game!!! DAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNN!!

Thanks for all you did as a Wing, Chris. You always brought 100% to the game! I use to hate Chris as a Blackhawk, but man did I love him when he came here in 1999! My favorite memory is when he took the extra skate in Vancouver!! I remember last season when we were playing Chicago and Patrick Kane kept running his mouth and Chris slashed him it seemed like 6 or 7 times right behind the net! To make it even better Kane didn't play much when Chelli was on the ice after that! I just think Chris was trying to teach him some respect! We will miss you Chris. Good Luck to you and your son!!!
