I heard something yesterday on NHL Home Ice and they said (I think it was Craig Simpson) that If Neithermatter retires they think that Doucheman will likely walk away from Anaheim as a free agent. This would really put the Ducks behind the 8 ball. I also heard that Giggy was not looking to be traded, but would wave his no teade clause if the right deal came up, which begs the question, you want to be traded? It will be an interesting off season in Orange County, I just don't see the Ducks being much of a factor anymore. We'll see. Oh yeah and I think Marchant is also a free agent as well. To answer the question, I don't think the Ducks are the old Avs, but if they somehow keep the same roster and continue to play us like they do (and we all know its goony!) then I would say sure its a rivaly, but it will take sometime to figure that out

Are the Ducks fans mailing this thing in now?? Because we have not won 4 games yet in this series! Sure the Wings dominated the game on the stat sheet, but not on the scoreboard! I still don't think this series is over just yet, we need a much better effort in game 6 to be able to eliminate Anaheim! But getting back tot he subject, if the Ducks fans are going to complain about the refs, I'm not sure what they have to complain about. The way I see it Anaheim gets away with alot of interference along the boards that does not get called! They all clutch and grab onto our skilled players, but then we put a stick on somebody and we are in the box! During the regular season the Ducks met with the officials spokes-person because they were taking too many penalties, all of a sudden after that, the Ducks were taking "less" calls!! So to all Ducks fans: Calm down, your not dead yet, you still have a good team that can still win this series!!

The one thing I like is that everytime they play Nashville, they beat them!!! Other than that I have never been there so, yeah!!

Actually the Whistle never needs to sound, its the intent by the ref on the call, once he decides to blow the play dead, its dead! They changed that rule a couple of years ago. The NHL use to review that, but not anymore!

Ok, I for one have not been a big fan of the "new NHL" in fact I'm not sure what the New NHL is exactly! The officiating has been bad on both sides, but I refuse to blame lastnights game on the refs. We had 3 Powerplay chances in the third period alone to not only tie the game, but win the damn game! The Redwings powerplay going 1 for 7 and 1 for whatever in the series is the reason we are down 2-1 in the series! As a matter of fact we are lucky we are not down 3-0 in the series!! If everyone wants to put the blame on the refs, then all that is doing is covering up for the s*** way we have been playing, many of you on the site have said that and I want to second that! Alot of people piss and moan when other teams complain about the refs cheating for the Wings, so I don't like when I see our people on our board doing the same exact thing! Our star player need to be our star players. Datsyuk=6 million a year, Zetterberg=6 million a year, Hossa= 7 million a year, Flipper = 4million a year, these guys need to step up or step out of the way and let guys like Leino and Helmer and other do the job that they cannot seem to get motivated for!! (I know that my money figures are probably not correct, but you get my point). We'll see just what kind of Championship Heart we have tomorrow night at the Pond!!!

As much as I hate losing, I think we needed to lose one, we haven't played well the last 3 games (including game 4 against columbus) and I think this will help get the boys back on their game!! No Big Deal, just play better and we'll be fine!

I have to be honest, I am a bit concerned about the time off, but the samething happened last year after we swept Colorado, we had to wait a week before playing Dallas, and all we did is dominate 3 straight games. It took Dallas 3 games to get their legs back after beating San Jose!!

Way to go Griffs!! I wish that there was a way I could watch these games!! Why in the hell doesn't the NHL Network cover some of the AHL playoffs! Does anyone have any streams for the Griffs??

Darren Helm has been great to watch! He is always hitting somebody, He has the skill and speed that Draper had back in the 90's and he hits like Maltby did in the 90's. I'm not taking anything away from Drapes and Malts, but Helmer remind me of them!! As for what some of you all said about Franzen, he may be a victim of his own success! He does hit when he has to, but he is mostly focused on scoring. He's a 30 goal scorer, as a forward with his skill, he is suppose to get to the front of the net and cause hell there, not along the boards and out of position! Just my two cents! but I understand both arguments! GO WINGS!!!

Hey Teck! You should be fine! I use to go to games all the time when I lived in MI, I sat next to Avalanche fans during the rivaly years, they were cool. Of course we ragged on them, and they ragged back, but it was all in good fun. I think one of them bought a round of beers for us!! Hope you and your wife enjoy the game!! GO WINGS!!

Kariya gets way tooo much credit for Anaheim's sucess in 2003!! He only had 4 goals in the playoffs that year! I had him on my fantasy team and he sucked!! Hell Steve Thomas had more goals then he did! To think that Kariya is a playoff performer, your kidding yourself, dude is a China doll!!

When will we get credit for the thing we do!! That call was almost as bad as the refs blowing the call lastyear against SanJose when the puck clearly hit the netting, and the refs blew that one!! I listen to Gary Bettmans show on thursdays and most of the callers give the refs good grades this year and kiss Bettmans ass on how great the games are now, and then you see this crap!! I will try to call in on Thursday and ***** about this one!!!! unbelieveable!! thank goodness we didn't need the points!!!

I think that both of the hits were ok in my book!! I understand that the NHL has its set of rules, which Mickey Redmond and I do not like! I see nothing wrong with hitting a guy that has his head down and not paying attention, Nash is a great talent, but you still need to play the game with your head up! Someone else stated what if it were Pavs or Z, well I'll tell ya, Pavs and Z are for one, hard to hit and two, they play with there head up!!
