I actually watched that game live, I usually watch The Wings rivals during the season, just to see how we match up, and I love watching hockey. I remember saying to myself, how in the F did he miss the net and why did he wait so long to shoot. I personally would have buried that shot between the circles. The most amazing thing was how Edmonton took the puck back up the ice and scored!!!

Yeah I failed to mention Drake and Malts!!! as well as Homer and Johan, thanks for reminded me!!!

All in all I thought we played well for the first game of the year. I thought the first tem minutes were a but sloppy, but after Hank burried the first goal, I thought the Wings took over the game. 2 defensive errors lead to the Ducks goals, but Championship teams get those chances and put them home. I was very impressed with our Power Play. I thought we controlled most of the 2minutes, which is something we didn't see lastyear. I think that Anaheim was a bit jetlagged, and I think that is why we outshot them 42-15, we'll see in a couple of weeks when we play them in Anaheim! I was pleased with Hudler tonight, I think once he gets some confidence he will start to rack up the points!! Also I could not believe that Pronger did not get a penalty when he shoved Flip into the boards!!! How 2 refs miss that is beyond me!! Hank and Dats were simply amazing as always. Raffy was decent, he will get better, and I was impressed with Lilja, He is finally using his size to protect the puck in the defensive zone, instead of pushing the puck ahead, if he continues to play like that he could be a similar version of Derian Hatcher. I like the strides Lilja has taken! Overall I would give the Wings a B+ tonight!!! I will take the 2 points!!!

Anyone that went to the game, did you see what happened late in the third period with the fight in the stands. Leafs Tv showed two dudes sreaming at each other, but I think the fight was broken up before the camera could get there. I was wondering if some A-hole Leafs fan started something like they alwys try to do! Let us know if you have any info!

Here is why the NHL decided to come to Nashville in the first place. See in 1990 Saturn moved from Lake Orion to Spring Hill. Now at about that time the Wings were starting to make there turn into a dominate franchise again. Well the people that had moved down here to Tennessee were following hockey and the Wings more, so the NHL and a few locals thought hey we could compete with this and maybe hopefully some of the new locals and others will join us and make Nashville a hockey city and it almost worked until the city and the Predators got greedy and began to panic. this just shows that the cream will always rise to the top. I think Pollite had a great plan, it just blew up in his face because he got greedy and threw all his chips in lastyear and now wants out. It really sucks for me, because now I won't be able to see the Wings live unless I travel to St. Louis or Atlanta.

I personally think that starting Downey on the road in Chicago is a great move and it will be on a Saturday Night against the "New Look Hawks" I just think its a great move by Babs!!! don't get me wrong I wanted to see Aaron against the Ducks, but I like the move!

Buddy, I couldn't agree with you more. I just wish I lived in Detroit so I could go to the Joe somemore. Instead I'll travel to Nashville and watch the Wings dismantle the Preaturds

Guys and Gals, You got to remember that Melrose is still pissed at the Wings for not making him headcoach when Brian Murray was fired! The Wings instead went with a guy by the name of Scotty Bowman, OOPS!!! See Barry was the Junior Wings coach in the late 80's and early 90's. Guys like LaPointe and I think McCarty played for Melrose when the JrWings were around, now there the Adorondick Wings. He is still not over it.

See that is exactly what I was talking about!!! Leafs fans do that all the time they come to Joe Louis, don't get me wrong some of them are cool, but there are always a few who have too many Molsons and when the Wings get up by 4+ goals they get pissy. When I use to live in Detroit I have sat with Colorado fans, Dallas , StLouis, Chicago, Rangers, Montreal,Anaheim and SanJose fans and all have been pretty cool, But the Leafs Fans, are probably the worse! Also, I'm sorry your 7yr old had to see that!

I was suprised Leafs TV showed it actually! I guess Canada shows everything!! I think that is awesome! They game was kinda boring at the time!

I do believe it does stick! However he could go overseas and play, but since hes under contract that won't happen either, so basically he sits for 2 months! Also, I kinda glad the NHL did suspend him for 20 games, however like many of you have said, the NHL needs to be more consistant! IE *** Pronger, Jordin PooPoo, I just hope this is the spring board that keeps the cheapshots down. Don't get me wrong I like hard hitting, but there is no reason why a guy needs to strap on 30 pounds of hard plastic padding and then go out and hit people with this Legion of Doom shoulder pads. Look at Chelios and Shannys shoulder pads, those are hockey pads!!!!

I really think we need to sign him! He kind of reminds me of Lapointe, and he even wears the same number! I think this guy could protect Z and Dats. Lets face it Downey will drop the gloves with anyone and I think the Wings need that on the roster, I was so sick and damn tired of guys taking runs at our boys lastyear, that was our weakness, and we need to address it. SOOOOOOO lets do it!!! DAMN I HOPE SO, I live down here and thats all they talk about is how PooPoo wins fights, I always tell them "yeah until he fights someone, with that said, he will run from Downey, PooPoo is a coward!!!!

This is GREAT!!! This puts more importance to the division games if they use the 6 game plan against your division teams, I really hope they use that because I want to play the Eastern Teams twice, like Toronto, Montreal, NYR, Boston. I love original 6 Hockey!!! Nothing Better!!!

I liked TJ alot, I wish he would have had a better fate at Michigan, he was the Steve Yzerman of that team, us Michigan fans are going to miss him this year. I hope he does real well in Colorado, just not against the Wings!!

I wish the NHL would put together the Original Six teams in a division: Detroit, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto, Boston and NYR. That would be kick ass!!! At least we wouln't have to play Columbus 8 times!

As long as I renew by October 9th its only 129.99 for me, this will be my second season!!! I'm soooo fired up to!!!
