    Doan vs. Lidstrom

Today I was listening to Terry Foster and Mike Valinte and they both want someone to take out Doan and Jovo Cop! Terry mentioned time and time again that someone on the Wings roster needs to step up and take these two out. Part of me wants this to happen, but I just know that if someone in the Red and White do something like that the NHL will come down so severe on the Wings that it won't be funny! I mean Homer can't even get nut hair in the crease without taking a penalty, just imagine if Big Bert destroyed Doan! Not to mention Shane Doan will NOT fight anyway, he is an skilled Sean Avery! Foster is stating that driving Doan to the ice and showing that hitting Lidstrom is not going to be excepted by our next round opponent is the most important thing here, and I have to agree but my question to everyone here is at what time or when do you take actions into your own hands???? I can just see SanJose/Nashville/Vancouver licking their chops at a chance to do what the Coyotes have done!

    Cocky Coyotes?

I got this information from Kuklas Korner. The FSN Arizona and former Coyotes player Tyson Nash said "The Wings are scared of the Coyotes" REALLY????? Thats news to me. Hey Tyson, you better watch your mouth, those are pretty big words for a guy who cannot hack it in the AHL, let alone the NHL. Just shows what this idiot knows! As soon as the Red Wings started taking their equipment off after Sunday’s regular season finale against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Wings began to repeatedly state that they respect the heck out of the Coyotes, that they simply won’t take a team that the Wings’ players would argue doesn’t get enough respect lightly in any way, shape, or form, and the Wings have insisted that they’re well aware of the fact that the Coyotes are out for revenge, all while quietly suggesting that the mistakes made and glaring weaknesses exposed in their seven-game series against Phoenix a year ago were exploited by the Sharks in the second round, and that the Wings simply cannot expect to play the same way against Phoenix that they did last year if they plan on earning a hard-fought series win. The Coyotes, on the other hand, have sounded almost bitterly angry and almost borderline arrogant while insisting that it wasn’t that the Red Wings defeated Phoenix last year as much as it was the Coyotes that didn’t capitalize on their opportunities to wipe out the Wings and go on a long playoff run. If you read and/or watch the Coyotes’ interviews from Tuesday (never mind analyst Tyson Nash’s insistence that the Wings are scared of the Coyotes), there’s a sense that the Coyotes view their rematch with the Wings is an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge while driving over their previous playoff roadblock with a 20-ton tank, laying waste to the Wings before going on the long playoff run they were supposed to take last season. http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/tmr/comments/red_wings-coyotes_game_1/ These guys seem a little cocky to me! Rule 1: Do not wake up a sleeping Giant! I think the Coyotes are already defeated in this series, and to me they sound like the ones that are scared. Discuss!!!

    Cocky Coyotes?

That is exactly what I thought as well. Tyson Nash was never a decent player in the NHL, so now he sits up in the FSN Arizona booth and preaches to the 5 fans that follow the Coyotes on TV! Crazyness! I suprised he knows anything about playing in the league! Look at these totals!! NHL Totals: 374 Games played (Blues and Coyotes), 27 Goals, 37 A, 64PTS, +2, 673PIM, now Takes playoff totals: 23G, 3G, 2A, 5PTS, -1, 52PIM( all playoff games were with STL in 98-99, 99-00, 01-02, and 02-03) After 02-03 Mr. Nash played in the AHL were he was bounced around from team to team. Even the Toronto Marlies didn't want him!!

    Los Angeles vs. San Jose

IF and I say IF the Wings pull off the series with Phoenix and Vancouver holds serve with Chicago as well as however pulls out the NAS/ANA series, the Wings would play SJ. This series is key for the Wings! I do not want to play SJ, I will be pulling for the Kings in this one. Quick is gonna have to stand on his head in this series, but I think if the Kings can pull off one of the first two games in SJ, they may have a shot at this one! And we all know what type of playoff performer Thornton is......

    Wings 2011 in Review

Hey Ryan, You should use the song that the Wings play when they enter the ice. I cannot for the life of me remember what that song is!

    Nashville vs. Anaheim

Well... I use to live in Nashville, and I hate that city, the people, oh yeah and the Hockey team. I hope Anaheim destorys Nashville! Honestly I think Anaheim takes it in 7. Nashville typically does not play well against physical teams and we all know how Anaheim plays! GO DUCKS! (I think I just threw up in my mouth).

    Bill McCreary

That is simply amazing if that is indeed true! As much s*** as I gave him, he still was one of the best! Now O'Hallaran would follow him, the NHL would be a better place! We will miss McCreary!

Toronto fans Fight Night at The Joe?

I was at the game Saturday and I scored Tickets at the last minute. I told my sister that there will be soooo many fights in the stands, she did not believe me until we saw it first hand. After the broken pane of glass in the second period, all the players were standing at thier benches, when all of a sudden a loud roar came up from the crowd, I thought something broke out between the benches and as I was panning around, I looked up at the crowd and by that time everyone was standing and cheering the fight in the stands. Two guys (one Wings fan and Leafs fan) going toe to toe! Later on while in the bathroom, another fight nearly started between a Leafs and Wings; but that was stopped quickly, I think both were scared at the thought of the loser getting a swirlie Great night and a Great atmosphere at the Joe Saturday Night! We need to play these guys more often.

    Rafalski

I was concerned about the injury because it looked much worse than I thought live. I was more impressed with the fact that Abby stood up and took the Leaf player on in a scrap! I really hope Raf is ok, our PP is sooo much better with him out there!

    Student Tickets

I am a student at Oakland University and I have used the student rush tickets. The best thing to do is sign up for the text messages and they will send you one at 1130 ET if there are tickets left for that game that night. If they have any left, call the box office and get them reserved. Once you get the the box office before the game, simply walk in show your credit card and ID and your good to go. This was much easier than I thought. Upper Level tickets are $15 and Lower Bowl Tickets are $45. The last game I went to was against Nashville and I got a $58 for $15. Its a great deal!

    Jimmy Howard injury

I don't know, I don't wish injuries on anyone. However, I have no faith in Howard what so ever!! This guy lets in beach balls, and still seems to give uo juicy rebounds as well as kicking rebounds into the slot! I understand MacDonald isn't the best of goalies, but he has been much more consistant and the team seems to play better in front of him! I'm really getting sick of the excuses from Howard to be honest! Sorry, I feel this way, but I have no faith in Howie!

    Michigan Warriors Hockey

Last night my step dad and I attended the Michigan Warriors Hockey game in Flint. I wasn't expecting anything exciting, but once the game began I was impressed at the talent on the ice. The league the Warriors play in is the NAHL (North American Hockey League) and the Warriors play at Perani Arena(former home of the Flint Generals). The kids in this league are players left over from College or kids waiting to get into College. Most of the Warriors players played High School Hockey in the Mid-Michigan/Detroit Area. The speed of the game was impressive to say the least and these kids flat out brought it for 60 minutes. We sat right next to the Warriors bench and I was impressed with coaches and how they coached as if this was an NHL game. There were a few players that were reluctant to hit and the assistant coach stated to the players "Get some respect for yourself out there". The game is worth the money, tickets were $10 for Lower Section seats and $8 for upper level seats. If you have nothing else to do on a weekend night, check these kids out, you won't be disappointed. The Warriors next home game is in Two weeks when the Warriors host the Janesville Jets. That weekend is the season finale. Check out the league website at www.nahl.com and the warriors website at www.mywarriors.net Good Stuff, oh and the concessions are cheap as well. $4 for a 16 oz beer, never thought I would see that!!

Babcock speaks out (in a very good way)

I don't know what to say anymore! The team isn't getting better like they did last year when we got healthy. The Hawks are now on our heals for the division, and I personally think Chicago will pass us now. I have no faith in this team now and it looks like it will be a very short pre-season this year.

    Wings Playoff/Cup chances?

DITTO DITTO DITTO!!!! This team will not make it past the first round with this power play! Not to mention we cannot win at home. We'll end up playing Calgary or some team with a hot goalie in the first round and get smoked. Way to inconsistant with our play and its starting to get old real fast. But I surely hope that I am wrong! As for the past seasons. I really thought the Wings had a shot at doing something in 1993. I still cannot believe we did not beat Toronto that year. The year before that (1992) when we lost to Chicago in the second round still kills me too. We came back on Minnesota after being down 3-1 in the series and laid an egg against Chicago and Belfour. 1994 still has a bad taste in my mouth, the Series with the Sharks was over right after game 1, I knew that we would not beat them in that series, Irbe was just too good and we were inconsistant(hmmmmm.. kinda like this year). 1996 was killer, I thought we were the best in the league and simply could not do anything in the playoffs. 7 games with the Blues and needing a Stevie Y Miracle to win that series and Colorado was just too tough. 1997 I did not see coming until after March 26th. 1998, there was no one that could beat us and in 1999, I just think we ran out of gas. 2000, 2001 no desire in the lockeroom, losing to the Kings in 2001 was almost as bad as the 1994 series with the Sharks. 2002 there was no way anyone was beating us!

    From all Blues fans...

Thank you so much for the kind words! I was just remembering the days when Shawn Burr was in the Red and White and those great rivalries with the Blues back then. Great Post and thanks for doing that, you have a lot of class

    Buffalo Commentator

I love Rick Jeannert! They guy has been around for years and I think he has been with the Sabres since they joined the NHL back in 1970! The guy is a legend, and I enjoy listening to him!
