When I use to live in Nashville (could be the worst city on the planet) they did the samething with their mascot Gnash (what kind of name is that anyway?). He stole the zamboni and got pulled over in front of the Arena! Kinda lame, but it really didn't work. Atlanta will not pack that place for one simple reason and that is if the fans didn't sell out Braves games during their run in the 90's, why in the hell would they pack that arena for the Thrashers. Atlanta is not a great sports town unless its for the Falcons.

Whatevs! I will be watching Michigan and Michigan State football! I do not like the fact that the NHL puts this game on New Years Day, rather its Crysby or Ovie, or Datsyuk or Zetterberg! What the NHL should do, is put the game on Christmas to compete against the NBA's Doubleheader on ABC! AT least then Bettman can compete against a sport that is almost as popular as his!

Thats funny! I noticed that my fist was clinched for some strange reason! I looked at the pic and laughed, and wondered why in the hell is my fist clinched. Almost as if I thought my stepdad was going shove me out of the picture or something! Too Funny!

Ok, I know all of you are pissed at me, but I got to spend 2 hours with the Cup yesterday. At about 130 yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from my stepdad that the cup was going to be in Davison at 230. I then hauled ass to the dealershio in Davison and then got to spend nearly 2 hours with the cup. The entire experience was amazing. I got to hang with the Cup Keeper and talk about Hockey history and what not. The rest of the time I was standing next to the Cup reading it and simply taking it all in. I really wish everyone could experience this. The Cup was at Hank Graff Chevrolet yesterday between 2 and 4 for toys for tots, of course you had to donate money or toys, but it was a great event and alot of money and toys were donated. I happened to listen to the beginning of the game on the radio, and I thought Paul Woods was going to jump out of the booth after the fans began booing Cheli! I was actually shocked they booed him as well. I did however like how Cheli handled it and I think it showed his true professionalism! As for people heckling his mom and family, that simply crosses the line. I could go on and say alot about that, but I'm not going to stoop to the level of some people wether they are from Chicago or not, that is simply uncalled for! Like someone else said, the Wings should honor him with the likes of Lindsey, Howe and some of the other greats when the Hawks are in town next! Cheli sure does deserve thr respect that he would get from the JLA crowd! I really felt bad for Cheli lastnight, but I know he will brush it off like a true Champ!

I actually wasn't happy with our play from the beginning of the game! I understand we had 16 shots in the first, but I don't think we had that killer instinct lastnight like the Wings typically do! We had 4 Power Plays in the first and could have put the game away, instead we give up a shorty and that chnaged everything! I was worried about lastnights game, I knew SJ wanted revenge from the beating we gave them lastweek, and the travel turn around was not going to be easy. I do think we will have a much better effort against Nashville tomorrow night! As for Hudler, I think he needs time in GR, I don't think he is back to NHL speed yet. His passes are behind players all the time and he won't shoot the puck, its almost as if he has no confidence out there. I'm not sure if we could even send him down without having him clear waivers, but with his play and contract, I cannot see anyone picking him up! He has been a major disappointment this year and I do blame him on the shorthanded goal, he turned the puck over damn near on the blueline and then took his sweet ass time getting back on D. Thats not RedWing hockey and I think its time to make a decision on him! It's been 25 games now and the only goal he has was a lucky bounce, he has shown no signs of improvement. Its frustrating to watch him out there. I want Hudler to succeed here, but the NHL is about results and not about having fun. I don't like to bash players, but Hudler has simply pissed me off lately and I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a while, but I've seen enough of his half ass effort!

Toronto was a team I grew up hating because they always beat us it in the late 80's and early 90's! But, I always respected the Leafs and Pat Burns! He always had great teams in Toronto and probably should have beatin LA in 1993, I personally think Toronto would have beaten Montreal in that Final, but we will never know! RIP Pat, you will be missed, but never forgotten!

Mickey Redmond said the samething!!! I was waiting for the woodbench to be thrown on the ice with all the penalties against Calgary! But all seemed legit to me! Calgary seems to be the Oakland Raiders of the NHL! There is a reason they are 8-10-3 or something close to that! Up 4-2 late in the third and can't seal the deal has nothing to do with the refs and everything to do with the players wearing the flaming C's on their jerseys!!

I do not see The Kings winning a Cup this year unless they go get a quality Goaltender! If they pulled a Neimi type goalie, they may be able to run the table! Vancouver is possiblity this year, but I think it comes down to the first of April when the playoff brackets are introduced! First Round matchups are typically the toughest and usually makes or brakes a team! Look at Philly and Montreal last year, knocked out 2 contenders int he first round (Washington/NJ) then Montreal KO'd Pittsburgh and Philly pulled off a stunning comeback in Boston! It just seems like the first round matchups make or break a teams confidence as well as travel! I think travek will hurt LA more than anything because lets say they lock up #1 in the West, they will likely have to travel east in the first two rounds, sure they will have home ice, but I think there will be more pressure on them to win at home and reduce their travel! Who knows, I may be just blowing smoke!

This is one rule I don't like! WHY WHY WHY WHY can't the whistle blow when the ref is not sure?? Instead the game plays on for nearly 2 minutes and another goal is scored! It would have only took 15 seconds of replay time to figure out Smyth scored! Instead the game was delayed 5 minutes to figure out the correct time on the clock and put the penalized players back in the box! I watched the game live and it just seemed weird, I just knew the entire time that San Jose was gonna score a goal!

I went to an Isles game about 13 years ago and the Arena SUCKS!! The Area around the Arena Sucks! I root for the Isles just because I feel bad for them! I really thought the Lighthouse project would pull them out of these dark decades, but that seems to have foiled! I'm not sure any coach is going to make that franchise any better! Like so many have stated already, the failure starts at the top, I can tell ya it wasn't Scott Gordon's fault! We could probably build an all-star roster with the players the Islanders traded away in the last 15 years!!

I must say these players on the ballot did not have to win a primary election! I was suprised to see some of the names on there! However, I did vote for Pav, Mule, and had to write in Howie (which I was shocked) I also voted for Drew Doughty and Ryan Getzlaf ( Love him or hate him, the guy is a house and would love to see him in the Winged Wheel). Oh yeah I voted for St Nick as well!!
