Yeah it's not consistent with stuff like Cooke's non suspension, and others in the past, but I love it because a message needed to be sent.

Buying out Campbell gives them a cap hit of $2,380,958 for the next 12 years... A large pill to swallow, but maybe better than $7,142,875 for the next 6 as it saves them nearly 5 million in cap space.

Red Wings GM Ken Holland hasn't given up on wandering Jiri Hudler
T-Ruff replied to a topic in General
Ever since he left I expected him to be back someday, I was guessing at the end of his contract. It will work out great for the Wings as he will be 2 years a better player and still have to honour his awarded contract. No hard feelings from me, I'll be excited to see him again and I think its definitely going to happen. -
I would prefer to play Chicago or San Jose than Vancouver in round 1... But I'll be happy with any playoff spot and think the Wings could beat any of them when on their game.

I've been thinking about this for a while... I would want to play San Jose. Think about it... The Sharks will have an unbelievable amount of pressure on them given their past playoff failure, the new acquisitions specifically the big Dany Heatley move, and of course the usual top of the standings status. If they then have to face off against Detroit, the veteran team who knows how to win and has enjoyed the most playoff success of the last 3 years and who the Sharks have only beaten once this season in a shootout, I can imagine a major mental disadvantage even before the first puck drops. The Wings will have virtually no pressure on them at all and I and the team management won't be upset if they lose. The Sharks on the other hand...

GDT 2010 Olympic Gold Medal Game: Canada 3 vs. USA 2 (OT)
T-Ruff replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Hall of Fame
Not all of em! Man, what a game... what a day. You could not have written that game better from a Canadian perspective. Gets tied late temporarily breaking our hearts and sending it to OT only to have Sidney Crosby, the future of Canadian hockey, score the golden goal. Absolutely perfect. Never yelled so loud in my life. I know a lot of people here hate Crosby (hmm really?), and I always disliked him myself (though not as obsessively and irrationally as most here). But when he puts on that Canadian sweater, or any player for that matter (read: Perry, Pronger) everything changes. You are just as pumped when they score than if your own NHL team scores in a game 7 of the playoffs. If someone tells you different they are lying or some half-assed fan. Miller was outstanding all tournament, certainly deserving of MVP Rafalski also had a himself a tourney, hopefully he comes back to the Wings and plays the same One goal can change everything, I no longer have anything bad to say about Sid People pouring into the streets by the hundreds, cars honking everywhere, singing Oh Canada/chanting "Crosby" on the corners with strangers... Unforgettable -

This thread needs more Canada Finish them boys! -
Last 4 minutes was way to nerve-racking... Bad goal by Luongo on the first one but absolute game-saver in the dying minute. Hopefully Canada learns their lesson and brings a lot more energy to Sunday's game. It's going to be an epic battle physically, can't wait. Go Slovakia for Bronze!

I doubt NBC has much influence on the Olympic schedule... NHL yes, Olympics I find hard to believe, especially concerning the hockey schedule.... NBC would have put the American game on tonight if that was the case.

Nash-Toews-Richards dominated the Malkin/OV line... great coaching by Babs to replace Morrow on that line with Nash because of the bigger minutes they were going to play. Too bad that tic tac tic tac toe passing play was saved by Nabokov (the one right before Morrow's goal)... Would've been highlight goal of the Olympics most likely. Terrible coaching decisions by Bykov... Should've started Bryzgalov for the 2nd when it was 4-1, not so much cuz they were Nabokov's fault, but just to re-engergize the team and in case Nabokov was rattled. Many would say Bryzgalov has played better this season and this tourney anyway. Not to mention Bykov was fine with the matchups which put him down early Overall it was a great game to watch, nice and easy on my heart and a nice statement for Yzerman's squad.

Nice, rest up Wings!

Yep and USA vs Finland

I love Sweden as my 2nd favourite hockey country but I don't think they can win this tournament and therefore would like to see them lose so our boys can get more rest.

Awesome game for Canada... nice and easy on my heart, and a statement game. Great coaching by Babs... and brutal coaching by Bykov. Nabokov should've been out at the start of the 2nd period when it was 4-1 and he should've tried to get away from Babcock's matchup of Nash-Toews-Richards which dominated the game and the Ovechkin line. Luongo was great as well making plenty of difficult saves. Overall great showing and great game, Canada should be in good shape for Friday, brimming with confidence. And another great performance by my man Pierre McGuire!

1) No, time would go back to the Swiss goal and then start from there. 2) Just in case the goal didn't go in and play should have indeed continued
-
Insane sequence there... wow Swiss can't catch any luck.. first the weird bounce in and then the post after the puck rolled right along the line
