Gotta love Dats and Z ... Leaders on the team with the extra points in their hands... They step up and make no mistake! :goal: Not to mention their play during the game, it really seemed like they were trying to rally the team around them when after the game got tied.

nice post GS&T I don't think Callahan is a lock, and Komisarek is only out 3 weeks (as of a week ago), he'll be on if he stays healthy.... My team USA Parise - Stastny - Kessel Kane - Pavelski - Ryan Brown - Kesler - Malone Backes/Callahan - Drury - Byfuglien Suter - Martin Rafalski - Komisarek Whitney - Orpik Miller Thomas had some difficulty with the 4th line and bottom D pairing other than that is what I'd pick/estimate...

They're announcing it at the Winter Classic... Phenomenal idea IMO they'll be the last team to announce the roster

The notion that there is a conspiracy against the Wings or for another team is simply insane.... That said, I don't think there are very many who truly believe there is one. The NHL simply needs to employ Jame's Duthie's "Common Sense" revolution, and not be so over-protective of their refs who make mistakes....

I'm a hobby video editor so would certainly come in handy

Shootouts are the single greatest accomplishment of the NHL lockout... A game ending in a tie, no matter how good/entertaining it was, always left a bit of a sour taste. I'm all for trying to improve and modify the points and/or overtime methods, but we can't go back to having ties. And in the end shootouts will be necessary because continuous OT during the season just can't be done because of TV schedules and such. Perhaps 3 on 3 continous OT would end games faster (after x amount of 4 on 4) but that would have to be experimented with. One thing they need to do is increase the number of shooters to 5. Where did they get 3 from? Soccer does 5, International hockey does 5, AHL does 5... why did the NHL pick 3? I'll never support shootouts in the playoffs however, nothing is better than a marathon playoff OT game.

It was my understanding that Zetterberg has been captain-elect for a couple years now...

I'd love to go to more games, especially if I lived as close as you do (and assuming tickets are more affordable and more easily available now) I've only been to one NHL game, it was the 2008 round 1 vs Nashville, game 2... and it was great

I have to address this, I've always been one of those people who say the Canes were lucky to win the Cup in '06. I truly believe they were for the following reasons: Round 1. Canadiens win both games on the road to go up 2-0, Jason Williams (accidentally) takes the captain Koivu out of the series with a serious eye injury demoralizing the Canadiens and the Canes win 4 straight to close out the series all in one goal games (2-1 OT, 3-2, 2-1, 2-1)... Cam Ward also had an effect in turning the tide, but the loss of Koivu isn't insignificant. Round 2. Nothing wrong with this, they beat the Devils handily 4-1 While the first 2 rounds aren't a big factor in my opinion, the real issue of luck comes in the final 2 rounds: ECF: Buffalo was missing 4 out of their top 6 defenseman, and the series still went to 7 games. SCF: Edmonton lost Roloson in game 1, he was their MVP up to that point and virtually the only reason the Oilers were in the final. Not to mention Ty Conklin's gaff with 30 seconds to go gave the Canes a "free" 1-0 lead in the series... After this the Oilers still took it to 7 games. Of course it's all hypothetical to say that things would've gone differently in the last 2 series (or round 1 for that matter) if injuries had gone differently, but it still resulted in rather fortuitous situations for the Hurricanes. (I'll agree that the Pens had things go their way in the run last year, but I don't think it can be considered to the same degree as the Hurricanes in '06)

I think some of the replays were uneccessary and could've been replaced with more footage, but good video...
