Heatley traded to Sharks for Michalek, Cheecho, 2nd Round Pick

Cheech is supposed to have a tonne of heart at least, I'm being optimistic and hoping the change of scenery will help him regain some of his form. -
Another important point here is:

A bit of a question mark indeed, but I think he'll be solid 30 goal player someday I reckon he'll get 20 this year As a fan of the Senators I'm pleased with how they did given their situation. -

Doubtful, given the Sens' position, I think they did well... -

Big fan of Michalek Good trade from both teams perspectives - Sharks dump Cheechoo and his salary - Sens dump Heatley before camp - Sharks get their obligatory big offseason shake-up - Sens get a good young player in Michalek - Sens get a former 50 goal scorer who could regain some of his form with a change of scenery -

at 8:55 ESPN posted a story that sources confirmed this deal Heatley to San Jose Marleau to Los Angeles Frolov and Stoll to Ottawa 2 min later they posted this update: However, since this was posted on ESPN I imagine there is something to it... Speculation is that the reason it's being denied is perhaps because Marleau and Heatley still need to waive their NTC's.... Edit: beaten by a minute

Nah, he'll go for another Back-2-Back which eluded him this year... and then go out on top

Chicago stumbles out of the gate and under all the pressure and finishes a 5-8 playoff seed Sens make the playoffs Flyers win the Atlantic Pens don't do as well as expected and finish a 5-8 playoff seed Zetterberg gets 45+ goals Canada over Russia for Gold in OT, Sweden over USA for Bronze Leafs miss playoffs in 9th-10th place Works out alright for Montreal and they finish 5-8th but get swept out of round 1 Kovalchuk signs a long-term extension in Atlanta More than 3 players score 50 goals A surprise playoff miss for one of Carolina, New Jersey, or Anahiem Pens don't make it past round 2 Wings travel to the Final and play Bos or Phi (who play the ECF) Sharks get their due and play Wings in WCF but lose in 5 games There's some trade of Thornton-to-Sharks proportions before the Olympic break

Meh, I like their normal jersey's more, just because the logo is so good....
-
Yeah I wouldn't worry about Crosby being named Captain.... I have: C - Niedermayer A - Iginla A - Mike Richards
-
Big steal for Vancouver.... You can get more for Ehrhoff even if you do have to clear space....
-
Perhaps... but it should be noted that he didn't leave his feet before contact in this particular hit

Sabres are in Leafs no chance if they stick with their current roster (need more offense) Sens will squeek in 6-8 IMO I don't think it's everybody thinking the Hawks are suddenly so much better, but more so the notion that the Wings are worse.....

This requires yet another shout out

good luck Todd! as far as I'm concerned nothing much wrong with bringing in a big guy like Bert who can add some depth and secondary scoring for cheap and on only a 1 year deal Hopefully he can surprise us all

I like em

Those history of hockey voters on that list most certainly are more than 99% of this board, and its nothing to be ashamed of either... Just try reading some of the debates in the voting threads... I learned a lot just from reading a bunch of pages there in the round 2 (11-20) voting.... for example, I used to think that Brodeur was going to go down as consensus #3 goalie of all time and Lidstrom as the consensus #2 defenseman...Over the years of reading debates such as these I came to realize that this is not the case.... For the most part logical, thorough, and objective in their arguments.... These are guys who look up old newspaper articles and quotes, watch ancient footage, pay to subscribe to websites that provide all kinds of hockey data, read tons of hockey books new and old, create spreadsheets and formulas to adjust for certain factors, etc... Although I'm not going to blindly believe everything they say before looking at the work behind it, I'm certainly not going to do much significant questioning of a list compiled by votes from 36 knowledgeable hockey people, especially when their research and debates are in the open for all to see....

Spezza is going to camp for Getzlaf... and correct me if I'm wrong but I think not being invited to camp doesn't necessarily mean you won't be on the team. If a player plays himself on to the radar during the season I'm sure he'll still get some consideration.... Oops that was copied and pasted from an earlier roster that Niedermayer wasn't part of (because I thought he'd retire) my updated post has: Niedermayer C Iginla A Richards A Boyle had the "A" previously simply because he was the most veteran guy on D

My most recent roster Lecavalier - Crosby - Iginla[A] Nash- Getzlaf- Heatley Gagne - Richards[A] -Doan Staal - Thornton - St. Louis taxi: Savard, Spezza Bouwmeester - Weber Niedermayer[C] - Keith Boyle - Burns/Phaneuf Taxi: Phaneuf/Burns (whoever is playing better, Phaneuf has been in steady decline and Burns is coming off injury) Luongo Brodeur taxi: Ward EDIT: St. Louis is probably going to be there, Took out Morrow because I don't think he'll regain his form on time
