Now I understand why Leaf fans are so frustrated with MLSE management.... How do you not do what it takes to hire Scotty Bowman, the greatest mind in hockey? He has an unparalleled knowledge of the game, probably would've earned a championship for Toronto within 7 years......
-
Of those four I want Hasek and Bertuzzi.... Though Schneider is key as well, if it wasn't for the Flyers' ridiculous contract to Timonen I don't think we're worrying about this....
-
Especially considering the fact he had a NTC that was about to kick in July 1... I suppose this answers my question of whether or not they still asked for his consent....shrewd move Poile....shrewd.....
-
Nor will any team have enough disrespect to try and poach him and get him cleared to play..... not that Jiri would even entertain such an offer anyways after what the Wings have done for him.....
-
according to eklund the wings are "up to something" LMAO

Agreed.... this is one that is definitely happening sometime..... He also mentioned the Toskala to Leafs trade and mentioned that Vokoun would be moved..... He has gained some credibility in my book...... -
Holland: Prices for Bertuzzi, Schneider & Markov high
T-Ruff replied to kindlwillbegreat's topic in General
We need Hasek, Bert and Schneider, in that order..... Hasek and Bert are 1A and A1, and should come relatively cheap..... Bert at 1-2, and what kind of raise is Hasek looking for? 2 million? or something like 3-4.....I wonder.... -
Yeah, a local group is gonna make a bid....though McKenzie also mentioned that the Kansas City representatives are in the building......
-
I actually laughed out loud at that.... he just speaks louder "Welcome--" *boos get louder*
-
Bob McKenzie basically said that Balsillie is not getting the team......
-
Yep....here's a small, low-quality clip of it:
-
McCabe for Ryan Smyth trade and sign.......

The Sharks can choose this year's 1st rounder or the Leafs 1st rounder for 2008. If they choose the latter, it's top 10 protected, meaning if Toronto's '08 1st round pick is in the top ten, the Shark's pick from the Leafs is pushed back to the 1st in '09..... Link If I was the Sharks, I'd go for the 13th overall this year, I don't think '08 will be higher.....
-
On TSN Sportscentre yesterday they said he would be back in games mid-September, it shouldn't affect his status when the season starts.....
-
Good deal for both teams....Some Leaf fans may be disappointed about giving up their 1st rounder this year, but it could work out. Vesa is a great goaltender.... Wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs are shopping Raycroft, he is better than a back-up which is what he would be behind Toskala..... that would open up to sign Cujo as backup..... Bell was supposed to be top-line material alongside Cheechoo and Thornton but ended up being an oft healthy scratch.... Hopefully he has better luck in Toronto.....

You mean the 2nd round? 2007 Playoffs Round 1: Rangers 4 Thrashers 0
-
Good....Dark is better for home....
-
Hartnell is making 200k more per year over the same 6 year period......
-
Sad.....but necessary...... I know he is going to light it up with another team...... it will be great to watch..... Getting Calder back wouldn't be that bad, I think he was just hurt in the playoffs..... Not that I'd care either way......
-
Great idea, those threads where a nuisance, especially when people (albeit rarely) replied in them....
-
Yep, that's would constitute "one retaliatory cheapshot gone horribly wrong." Does that make Bertuzzi worse than Hartnell? By no means. Whether or not a player Hartell cheapshots misses any games is irrelevant.... The fact is a guy like Hartnell does it repeatedly, and Bertuzzi has done it once - count em it: one......
-
I like how it says our first choice may be retaining Bertuzzi. In my opinion, it would be foolish to let him go to another team.....He is and will be better than he was these playoffs...in which he was getting better each game....He wants to win, and can still be a dominant, intimidating force in the NHL.....
-
It is something that could be a huge success or a huge disappointment.... Season tickets could be a problem, you would need corporations to pick up a lot of those and who knows if there would be much interest. If it was owned by Jerry Bruckheimer, however, he may have the power to sell it. But then there is always the possibility that if it works out great, another major sports league team would move in and people would forget about the NHL..... I am still not sure what to think of the matter, there's so many variables involved.... Then NHL better do their research.....
-
Daniel Alfredsson also mentioned that his favourite player is Steve Yzerman...

At first reading the title I thought I would definitely be against it, but the blogger made some good points that got me thinking.... the above however, is the best solution of the 3 as far as I'm concerned. As the blogger mentioned, it would be unlikely that a team would put themselves down a man in their own zone in order to send up a guy to cherry pick.....
