But would disliking Jim be enough reason to vote down the sale? Wouldn't they feel they'd be screwing over Craig?
-
Here is the article...it's great, also talks about how he told Holland he wasn't going to accept money for not playing due to injury in the year he was here with Cujo..... http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A...384/1004/SPORTS

TSN has an article of their own: 10 years on, Konstantinov still recovering
-
 :carrot: "I don't want my legacy to be about the numbers, or how many trophies I won, I want it to be that I was a competitor, and that my teammates believed in me. That's what's most important to me. That my teammates know, when I'm in the net, I'm the man, I'm the right person for them. And that I never gave up." - Dominik Hasek

Agreed. That is the one good thing that would come of a disapproval..... However, in my opinion, there are more negative ramifications that would result. Liepold would be forced to continue (possibly) losing money, rather than making up all past losses in this purchase, meanwhile continuing to be very unpopular in Nashville, as you mentioned. And as I previously mentioned, they would be denying a great, deep-pocketed, hockey-fan owner a franchise, nullifying any inflation in value of NHL franchises that would have resulted, and probably deter some future buyers (of any current or expansion franchise) due to them being scared/annoyed of how controlling the NHL is.
-
It would be very unwise for the NHL to disapprove of Balsillie's purchase. Regardless of his intentions, he would be a great owner. He and his wife are big hockey fans, there would be financial security with his bottomless pockets, and he vastly inflated the value of NHL franchises with the premium price he paid. Yes it would be great for Nashville, but it would be a major set-back for the NHL as a whole.....
-
I enjoy reading his blog, the articles and the rumours to a lesser degree.... but Bert and Hasek's salary predictions are just silly....if it was going by their performance, it's not far off, but he has to take other factors into consideration.....
-
Yes, but that isn't the fans, it's the writers and members of the media that are generally more knowledgeable than the average fan.... in my experiences and conversations with other hockey fans, Lidstrom is hardly recognized to be as great as he is.....

Lidstrom is so underrated amongst non-Wings fans.....
