Does anyone have a nice DVD cover for the Yzerman retirement DVD?
T-Ruff replied to Wingfan191's topic in General
I poached a picture a while ago that would make a great DVD cover, and it's the right size/shape.... Matt put it up around the time of Steve's retirement: -
Our greatest chance of going for the 2008 Stanley Cup is with Dominik Hasek in the net. Lang, you are the epitome of awesomeness....but it's time to move on.... The Wings are going to be damn good next season.....
-
He's naturally probably just thinking about it.... Then he will realize he's only 33, noting that he played against Chelios who is 45..... and be back next year.... Part of me hopes he does retire because it will hurt the Ducks' apparent mini-dynasty over the next 3-5 years.....

A quick Google News/Blog search of the terms "Balsillie Cambridge" indicates no......

If ever you need a hockey fix, nothing beats the good ol' game of ministicks.... or MSX as I like to call it....

Giguere, Pronger, and May bring the Cup to The Tonight Show - crappy quality

As far as size is concerned, I'd be happy with simply retaining Bertuzzi. We have guys that can handle themselves; Chelios, Schneider, Franzen, Lilja, Kopecky, Cleary....even Datsyuk and Zetterberg got a little feisty during the playoffs... I don't want a roster spot taken from a player with skill for a player that is only good at fighting.....

The watered down talent argument is losing steam, more and more kids have been and are playing hockey in the U.S. which is increasing the talent pool immensely. The NHL will expand, within 10 years I think.... and I, for one, look forward too it..... For all those saying that the NHL isn't healthy, I beg to differ..... There are markets that are slow to pick up no doubt, and I'm not saying I would be against moving teams like Nashville, Florida, etc, and the like.... I'm saying there are markets in every sport that don't do so well (save, perhaps the infallible NFL [?])..... The NHL as a whole is on the verge of an explosion.... I mean, it's a league that most Americans are virtually unaware of, that still pulls in $2.4+ billion in revenue each year, and broke records for revenue and attendance each year since the lockout..... A solid economic system combined with young stars like Crosby, Oveckin, Fluery, Malkin, the Staals, etc. will only help the NHL continue to grow..... and so, I repeat... I look forward to the bright future of the NHL.....

Heatley was leading playoff scoring until he ran into the Ducks. I think the Ducks just did a superb job of shutting him down..... The Senators did not make a mistake by any means....
-
If we want to go for the Cup next year we need Hasek..... I don't see it happening with any other realistic options..... One more year of Domination please....
-
Yeah they did....and then he said "Don't worry I'm bringing a present" He knows hes not liked....
-
Yeah I loved that video....Things like that is what got me into video-editing.... I make sure I see every pre-game mix-video they make for every playoff game....on TSN and CBC if possible...... it's one of the most important parts of watching a (playoff) hockey game for me......

The Ducks decide to show up for the Finals.... I guess if you're gonna do it...that's the time... They deserved to win this series..... They had everything going their way all playoffs, it was just in the cards for the Ducks this year Agreed. I've expressed my opinion of Pronger, I've said that him not winning the cup is better than Selanne winning it... But I have to change my mind.... Seeing how emotional he was, how much it meant to him.... I sat in disappointment staring at my TV (especially seeing Pronger get it first ) until I saw Teemu, at which point I pumped my fist and issued verbal congratulations...... Highlighting the good things in life is better than dwelling on the bad.... Congratulations Teemu Selanne, especially since it seems (to me) that this game was your last in the NHL......

Lets go Sens, one game at a time, lets make this an exciting series.... I don't see why everyone is thinking that the Ducks winning tonight is a foregone conclusion.... the Sens were the best team in the playoffs before this series, they need to find their groove back tonight, they have no more 2nd chances..... The reason the Ducks won the last game is because they were energized by the adversity of missing Pronger, as well as Alfredsson's momentary lapse of judgement at the end of the 2nd period.... Now its Alfredsson and the Sens that are facing the adversity, they have shown they play best when nobody expects them to win, they bring this back to Scotiabank Place tonight....and we have ourselves a series....
-
See where the Sens would be without Alfredsson in these playoffs..... And where he will be in Game 7, shaking Bettman's hand at centre ice...... ........
-
Every time I see the CBC intro video to a game in the SCF I see the Ducks and think "as if...." But then I realize the Wings will be even better next year...I can't wait for 07/08.....
-
I think the only reason he hasn't been motivated is because he knows he is on a team that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.... Being used to winning all your career and then going to a team that doesn't have much of a chance won't do much for your effort. Playing not to win is never fun, especially if you are used to the opposite....
-
3-1 Ducks lead heading back to the Ponda Center?! ............ It's not looking good for the Sens..... I will cheer them till the bitter end.... You just gotta believe that Chris Pronger won't be lifting the Cup.....if there is any good left in the world..... Go Sens...win the next three, or break Pronger's arms so he can't experience lifting the cup on ice
-
My perception of the allowed kicking rule is kicking the puck when it's on the ice; people here are talking about getting the puck in the air to kick it, and how players would get cut and injured. Nobody would get hurt just by kicking the puck in the net along the ice, which is easier than freakin trying to bicycle it anyways .... I think it would be an improvement to the game if they allowed along the ice intentional kick-in goals......

Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head
T-Ruff replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
He should get at least 2 games, given his history in this playoffs.... But he will only get one, if that.... I hope I'm wrong though..... For some reason I have kept looking for reasons to respect Pronger because he is supposedly such a "great" player, but today's actions have permanently pushed him over the edge in my book. Today he showed what a classless, disgraceful, disrespectful piece of s*** he is. I will thoroughly enjoy watching him cry for the 2nd straight year of losing in the SCF. I can't wait for the day he gets what's coming to him. If ever there was one man who truly doesn't deserve to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup, it's one "Christopher Robert Pronger." Ducks fans should be embarrassed and ashamed. -
I brought this up during the GDT..... I definitely think that any goal off the foot should count, you should be allowed to intentionally kick the puck into the net. It would add a new dimension to the game and get rid of any controversy on the matter. It wouldn't happen that often, but it would be nice to have the option of kicking it in if your stick is tied up in front of the net or pulling some deke with the option, I'm sure there are players that could make use of it......

hahaha suck it Pronger!
