I was leaning towards hoping that they would move, change is always interesting....but this is great news for the city....You couldn't possibly let Crosby/Malkin/Staal/Fleury/etc. go....

From what I understand as this topic has developed over the past few months: Pittsburgh is not going to move..... I was leaning towards the side of hoping that they do move (I like change). However, it doesn't look like they will......

If 15 teams in the East vote for Detroit to move to the East because of Detroit being a good drawing away team wouldn't the teams in the West vote against Detroit for that very same reason? The West doesn't have draws like Crosby, Ovechkin, Toronto, Montreal, either.... methinks their would sooner be a majority vote for a Columbus move than Detroit...... That is, however, not taking into account seniority, ownership as you mentioned, and other possible factors.....

Agreed..... I always get so frustrated at people who take such pro-Moore extremes as to say Bertuzzi is a violent criminal, who should never play hockey again, who should be in jail, etc. Todd has paid his dues in full, he has issued a very sincere apology, and has put up with the scrutinizing media for a long time. I have a lot of respect for how he has handled the situation over the past three years, contra Steve Moore who has ignored the apology, instead opting to take it to the courts thinking he can make more money there than he could at hockey.....a cheap shot in itself as far as I'm concerned....

Brodeur's will undoubtedly be retired by the Devils as well Marty has 485 wins to date.... If he were to finish with only 6 more this season, he would need only 2 more 30 win seasons to tie Roy's 551.... and we all know that he will surpass those numbers.... I fully expect him to far surpass Patrick...

Indeed he would if he does perform in the playoffs, and would subsequently deserve the hit he would take on the cap.... However, if he continues to no-show like many are convinced he will do (I'm not one of them), then we would merely be paying for his regular season dangles and the hope that he will then earn his bonuses in the post-season.... *this is all merely hypothetical anyways as it has already been shown that he doesn't qualify for bonuses.....

It would be a fair deal for Datsyuk because he could be signed for cheaper and only get what he thinks he deserves if he does show up in the playoffs.....

Apparently he wants to sign in California, so he can live closer to his young daughter who lives in Los Angeles with his ex-wife.

excellent, lets hope it gets done at a reasonable price....I would not want to see him in another uniform
