Yeah, he likes to goof around with the press, especially with the russians. I've read some funny russian interviews with him in the past. He's always sarcastic, i think we will see more of it as he becomes more comfortable with the english language. Another one was after that Phoenix game when he scored the game-winner with a couple of minutes to go that made Wayne lose it on the bench. In the interview they asked why he decided to put on the brakes and shoot like he did. He said that he had no more energy and was tired so he stopped.

To be fair, both Pitt and Washington put a cross on Jagr and were just looking to dump Jarg's salary at the time they wre trading him. Washintgon is the loser here, but not so much Pittsburg because it wasn't until Jagr became a Ranger that he started playing like his old self again.

Man, that 3rd goal was just awesome. The way pavel can stop on a dime like that still maintaining perfect controll of the puck with his head up is just insane. The snow from that stop goes higher than his head, looks really cool in slow motion. Does anybody have a video? On another note, we got really lucky last night with phoenix unable to finish on A LOT of quality scoring chances, glad to see Ozzy bailing us out on many of them too.

Nashville used to have the worst announcers, but i think somebody in the front office told them to tone the homerism down a bit this season and they seem to be much better. Colorado guys aren't even that bad this year. Columbus announcers definitly hold the torch as the worst homers right now. Plus they have the cannon that they keep firing after every goal like they're a college football team. But i guess with the number of goals they score, they don't waste too much powder.

I was actually pleasantly surprised listening to them last night as they weren't all that terrible UNTIL they said something like "Roy was gonna go 3 for 3 if Hasek didn't fall down". Then i rolled my eyes in disgust and went back to my original opinion of them being pathetic homers.

They started with Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom but then changed to Datsyuk-Filpula-Holmstrom. The powerplay was still in tact, although this time it was Datsyuk staying out longer and Zetteberg going to the bench first. They flipped flopped between Zetter being on the first line and second line throughout the game during the 5 on 5 though.

I went to a Devils-Penguins game earlier this year. I went up close and watched the pregame warmup and honestly, Recchi impressed me the most. Granted it was only in warmup and he hasn't done anything this year, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a winged wheel. I'm sure somebody will claim him before we get a chance though.

What i want to know is that i heard some rumors that he had some kind of an accident or a freak injury early in his career that prevented a quicker development. Any truth to this?

Nobody would care for olympic hockey without the pros just like nobody cares about olympic soccer or basketball without the pros. It is NOT a strain on the fans, on the contrary, with so many international players in the NHL, it only adds to the overall hockey experience. Its fun to watch your favorite players represent their country and many times players from the same NHL club play against each other. I'll go as far as saying that it brings in NEW FANS, which is a very good thing at this point Gary.

That has a lot to do with everything. What if you were a little girl sick with cancer? Not only life sucks, but you also have to watch your favorite team lose night in and night out.

The number is a little skewed because a lot of them are choosing to go back or they don't even try to come over here because they get paid pretty well over there with all that oil money coming through and they only have to do half the work. Sounds like a sweet deal if you ask me. I think that right now, unless you're a superstar that will be making over $3mil in the NHL, its not really worth it for them. Take into account that life is also cheaper in Russia than it is here.
