GWG/Handshake Line/CSC Bowl Presentation Video
high_stick69 replied to high_stick69's topic in General
Hey thanks for posting that! Maybe Cindy "the little girl" was making out with the Prince of Wales trophy because deep down he knows its the only one he'll be able to get his fingernails on? -
Anyone have video of the trophy presentation? Please?.... I didn't get to watch the game or this important moment in Red Wings history....

To me Feds leaving the NHL brings closure to the bad break up he had with us, the fans. We were all pissed that he left, and we felt like he was a traitor. In reality its because we felt like he was one of our own and we wanted him here helping us win more cups. If its true that he's out of the NHL, does that means its over and he's not really cheating on us anymore? Can confess that we still have love for Feds and re-embrace him? Feds may have been my favorite player until he started signing offer sheets with Carolina and then left for Anaheim. I wonder if he thinks he made a mistake by leaving Detroit.....

What even happened? I didn't see the game or what Eager did? Can someone fill me in?
-
The point was that he looks like he waxes his eyebrows..... he was great in every game of the series except for when they had to pull him.
-
Maybe if Hiller didn't wax his eyebrows earlier in the day the puck wouldn't have slid through him... Ducks fans should be pissed at Hiller if at anyone.
-
Hank DID have a great series. He was very tough defensively and helped shut the Ducks down. Babs put him on a line that didn't really play to his offensive strength but his defensive strength. Hank and Dats have great chemistry with each other, but not as good chemistry with the linemates they were with in this series. (imho of course) When Hank and Dats don't light up the score sheet, everyone is asking for more and its understandable given their ability to light the lamp, but people need to realize they are more than just goal scorers and that defense wins championships.
-
Dats had a great series! The puck did not go in the net for him, but he did have a lot of great scoring chances. Hiller is a great goalie! Additionally, Dats played rock solid defense and thats the way you win hockey games in the playoffs. No complaints! Great effort, lots of heart, and responsible to the team. Can't ask for more except maybe to face a goalie that's not on fire.

Hit the nail right on the head! The Wings haven't played their best hockey yet. I'm confident they will come around. Ozzy had an inconsistent start to the season, and he's coming off the injury. Give him some time to shore up his game. No need to panic right now.

I haven't seen Hossa play at all, and I'm eagerly awaiting the season's start. What have you people seen so far? What do you think of the line he's on and how has he looked? Thanks...Go Wings!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AjoF...o&type=lgns With most teams, you’re looking for attributes or ways to rationalize how they could win the Stanley Cup. With the Red Wings, it’s just the opposite. It’s like you start with the premise you expect them to win the Cup and try to find reasons they won’t. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Red Wings were that set up to win last year – their fourth title in 11 seasons and 11th as a franchise overall – and to win again in the future. That future is now. The first hurdle will be the inevitable Stanley Cup hangover. And it’s not so much a team or bunch of individuals failing to generate the same motivation needed to grind out a long season, it’s more the consequence of having so little time off from the end of one championship run before the start of another training camp. mod edit: please don't post full articles.

My candidates for the greatest line in hockey history: 1) "Here's to all that gorgeous ****** in F L A!" .... Morris in Slapshot 2) "Your son looks like a *** to me".... Reg Dunlop in Slapshot 3) "They're too dumb to play with themselves"....Reg Dunlop 4) "They brought their f***in toys!"... who else, Reg Dunlop 5) "Are you guys brothers?"....Ned Braden in Slapshot

Do you remember when the Wings acquired Shanny? He scored like crazy and make the PP something to behold. His goal scoring ability is what helped put the Wings over the top!!!

Remember how everyone was calling Hullie "the stay pufft marshmallow man" when he was dominating those nachos from the press box during the Dallas series? I was at a day of the practice rounds for the Lake Tahoe Celebrity Golf tourney and Hullie didn't appear to be the Roseanne Barr the camera made him out to be during the playoffs. Maybe he's on a diet. He also signed each and every autograph of every kid that surrounded him between holes. Talk about a class act! He was nothing like the "I'm not signing, leave me and my ego alone" Mike Jordan, who was like Will Farrell with a dart in his neck, pushing kids out of the way to fall in the pool in Old School (or get to the next hole in Mike's case)

12 world titles.... Superbowls included

Green Bay WI has been nicknamed titletown for decades. Its like another city wanting to take Hockeytown away from Detroit. Did they really need to have it copywrited? Probably not, because we all know Detroit is Hockeytown.... just like Green Bay is Titletown.
-
He is a FA.... if he'd take the home town discount, would you want him back?
-
I think Feds is just mad because Ovechkin rarely passes to him when he's open. AND....it was always about the money with Feds, thats why he's still booed and Shanny would not be.
-
Sweet Video! its too bad Bure's career was cut short due to his chronic knee problems. He was a dominant player. Its awesome how silly Dats makes some people look!
-
Now that Hossa is a Wing, how does the team's psychological focus change? There has to be a feeling of superiority over the league and a feeling that the Wings should get the cup handed to them. I think they won the cup because of their determination and hustle. The one thing I agree with Melrose on is "Will beats skill." The Wings definitely had the will when it came to the cup this year. Will the Wings expect Hossa to win the cup by himself? Are they so good they don't have to have the same work ethic as before? Should it be easy now? How do you think this plays out? Do you see the team working as hard as they did in winning the cup?

Obligatory forward lines thread for next season
high_stick69 replied to LidstromIsASuperhero's topic in General
I like this lineup but see Maltby possibly going away in favor of Helm. Zets and the Mule have awesome chemistry and I think they excel on a line together. Hossa and Dats would probably work together similar to how Crosby and Hossa did. Its a very cool dillema to have trying to figure out which dream lines you'd want to put together!!! -
Part of the reason I asked this question has to do with the egos involved as well. Yes, the team played very unselfishly, but when you bring in a guy and pay him more than the Stanley Cup MVP and the Selke Trophy winner, does that cause any hurt feelings? Yea they are "professionals" but that doesn't mean they aren't selfish at times, especially when it comes to getting paid. I hope paying Hossa doesn't make it difficult to reel Dats and Zets back in. Does anyone become unhappy with what they are getting paid and become a distraction? Don't act like it can't happen just because they have Babcock.
