Right before the Wings won the cup, Vladdy was on the cover of sports illustrated. NOT NICK... VLADDY! He was my favorite Wing at the time of the accident. Damn shame what happened. It really put a bittersweet touch on the euphoria of winning the cup.

I'd rather hear Pat Foley announce the games instead of Doc "the Darren Pang look alike" Emerick. Twirling is what figure skaters do.

It's not cool that he's out, hopefully he will be back and enjoy a long career. Concussions have ended a lot of guys. There are certain things that are bigger than the game... ie things like Vlady being able to walk, Fischer living a long life, and Franzen not waking up every day with a headache. Hopefully they'll tell us it was precautionary and he'll come back to with the Conn Smythe like he was on track to.

Lets hope the Stars follow the Avs lead and stick with their hot goalie. I'd love to scream "SIEVE!!!" at him after every goal!

Maybe Ozzie should wander down ice and show Marty what its like to be beaten like a Patty Roy!

I like Malkin and think hes a great player, but he is also kind of a *****. He starts trouble and then hides behind his big guys. After they compared him to floppa, I started to dislike him. The Pens looked pretty good in the part of the game I saw. I know its early, but how do you think they match up with the Wings or Dallas for that matter? A Wings vs Pens final would be pretty sweet I must say!

The thought of Sammy actually crossed my mind when I posted the original post in this thread...lol. Yes, he pisses other teams off by starting it then running and hiding. Maltby has had a history of that also. Shoving and pushing, but never ever ever dropping the gloves. I don't remember ever seeing Maltby fight! Refresh my memory of who he fought, PLEASE!

Uh, yea, its just because of what the intelligent announcers on VS said. If I started making decisions based on that, I'd be in real trouble!

I've liked Mac's play, and I've been relatively pleased with Drake's play, but its a tough decision to figure out who to sit. I'm ok with it being Maltby, but what do the rest of you think? I'd put Drake and Malts at a push, with Drake being a little slower, but maybe a tad more physical than Malts. Thoughts?

The Wings MADE them look tired. I expect them to be tired for the rest of the series before they are REtired! (The Stars did pick up the intensity a bit during the 3rd period, but the Wings did a nice job of matching it!)

I would love to see Mac drop the gloves with Ott! We need to stop him from roughing up our skill players (aka Chelios). I never thought I'd say that about Chelios, but he's not quite what he used to be in the physical prowess dept.

I laughed when I read that the Wings are a team that won't play dump and chase. If this guy knew anything about the Wings he'd know that their ability to play dump and chase when needed is what has made them so much more difficult to play against. That was one of the many huge things that Babcock brought to this team. They are no longer somewhat one dimensional, and susceptable to neutral zone traps.

How has Kronwall been playing of late? I haven't been able to watch much lately, but when Kronner was coming back from his injury, everyone was on him about being injury prone and overrated. People wanted to trade him, and didn't figure him as a long term solution for the Wings D. Since he's been back, has that opinion changed at all? I've always been a supporter, but then again, I haven't seen him since he returned from his last injury. What do you think?

I'm assuming since there aren't a bunch of people jumping on this, that the skeptics have been quieted. How quickly someone can go to MVP of the Olympics to "he's not really that good" I have high hopes for this guy. When Nick decides to hang up the blades in 5 years or so, hopefully Kronner has surpassed him as "the guy" on our D. LETS GO WINGS!!!

So this guy is 6'5" and 225lbs? Can he skate? or handle the puck? Who is this guy and what is his story? Anyone who will threaten to keep a place on the roster? Let's hope he cracks some skulls and makes the front of the Wings net a very very unfriendly place to be! :punch:

Oh hell yeah! Seems like the guy has a much needed mean streak. I thought we might see some of that in the Wings/ Avs game. We really need some of that passion/controlled hatred in our game.

I hope DMac EARNS his way back onto the roster and makes the bashers eat their words. Some have given a guy that has been injured a flat out "no." Of course he isn't going to set the world on fire while he's injured...duh! Let him get healthy and then pass judgement. I am not overly optimistic, but it's great that he is pushing and giving it a chance. Go DMAC!!

Who is going to give Toronto their team for Sundin? Let them keep him if the asking price is so high. If he is sooooooo great and such an incredible world class player, then why would they want to trade him? The answer is: depth. They will look pretty stupid if they ask too much for Sundin, get stuck with him and continue to suck. Go ahead and keep Sundin, and keep losing Toronto! You're not going to get a Hershel Walker trade out of Detroit.

I really don't know how being responsible with the salary cap is seen as ******* things up. Some people are going to ***** no matter what. Kenny signs Rafalski to a big contract and half the people ***** that he won't be able to resign Zets, then he doesn't sign someone else to put the Wings to the cap's wall and people ***** that he screwed everything up. Its called selective spending and getting the most for your buck. Not overspending isn't making a mistake, its the key to winning. If Kenny gave anyone Fort Knox, it would be a one man team. We need good players at good prices. Depth is the vital in today's NHL. Kenny is NOT going to stick his neck out and be in salary cap hell with one guy. Fine work Mr. Holland! That is why you are the best GM in the league. To the rest of you who want it both ways.... this isn't Burger King so get off Kenny's nuts.
