Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head
high_stick69 replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
I guess the NHL rewards being a thug on the ice. 1 game means absolutely nothing. That doesn't even hurt the Ducks and thats what the suspension should do. I thought McAmmond was playing very inspired hockey the whole series.... more than most of the Sens. Now he's gone. Just like Holmstrom. Yes he played, but he was not nearly as effective after he took that head shot. -
Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head

McAmmond threw his head in front of Pronger's elbow just like Homer did...... no way is that Pronger's fault.....*scof choke puke belch fart* I hope they sit him down for the remainder of the playoffs. Should they reward cheapshotting people by letting them have a chance to win the cup? I think not... -
How long is Maltby signed for? Just wondering. He was -9 the last few seasons with 11 pts in each after playing 82 games. Could someone else fill his role more effectively and bring some scoring with them? We are going to have to move a few players to make room for some of our prospects ie Gregorienko etc. Why not get rid of Lang and Maltby and make room for some of these younger guys who can easily be -9 with 5 goals and 6 assists over 82 games? Thoughts?

Out of football, basketball, baseball and hockey, who's commissioner do you hate the most. I'm sure none of you are surprised that I pick Bettman for the biggest weasel and wimpiest pansy assed commissioner of them all, and I hate him the most!!!

I'm surprised the Ducks don't have them sing the Mexican national anthem in addition to Canada's and the US's national anthem. Pretty soon we'll probably have a North American anthem. I wonder what they'd name the song.....

Messier didn't want to have to share the spotlight with Gretzky either, cause Gretz had signed with the Rangers, then Messier signed with Vancouver. Maybe he was afraid Gretzky was going to make him cry like the buckets of tears he cried at his jersey retirement......... For such a 'tough guy' he sure seems like a little girl!

When you see a 'C' on a guy's jersey, you know you need to treat him with respect because he's the best player on the team. Lidstrom is that guy. He led the team in scoring and ice time in the playoffs. Should I repeat that? He LED the team. The 'C' seems to fit him just fine. Leave it there until he decides its time to hang em up.

I've been listening to the games on the radio instead of stupid VS....Panger is much better than listening to Doc and Eddie "I wanna make out with Doc and the Ducks" Olcyzk

If you think its a useless topic, then why are you wasting time posting?

*Fingers crossed* that Chris Drury is a wing next season

The initial post on this thread was not about who is cheaper than Maltby. It was about the log jam of young prospects that are waiting for a roster spot, and who is the guy who will be replaced. Yes Malts is a great penalty killer, but I don't think anyone can argue with the fact his play has declined. Do we hold onto him for sentimental value and waste the small window of opportunity we have with a guy like Gregoreko? Or do we give some younger guys a chance to gain some much needed experience and make the team better in the long term? It's not about hating Maltby. If you took a poll of who likes or dislikes Malts, I think you'd find great support for him. Unfortunately liking guys like Maltby or Lang doesn't win us Stanley Cups.

Who else hates that guy they show on VS after the Anaheim goals who shoots his fingers at the camera? Come on..... pick someone else to show. This douchebag has been boring since the first time they showed him!!
-
Are you saying you think Malts is in his prime? Three years ago he was a +24 and had only finished with a negative +/- once year since coming over from Edmonton. The last 2 years he's been -9 and the Wings haven't exactly been bad. Is that a result of being on the PK most of the time? Maybe, but probably not because he's been a penalty killer his whole career. Is Babcock's PK system to blame? Maybe. Is Malts getting up there in age and is his play tailing off regardless of what the stats say? Yes.

You created yourself on Sega hockey and led the Wings to the cup, destroying the competition along the way..... -

I was super excited for the Rangers when they won the cup and Leetch was such a huge part of it....He was absolutely incredible the year he won the Conn Smyth. I was hoping to see him in the winged wheel at some point in his career. Thanks for the memories Brian!!!

Quit whining about it already! If a team pisses you off and you don't respect them, you don't shake their hands. Just because Cheli doesn't share your sentiment doesn't mean its wrong. Get over it!

WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Zetterberg scores!!! -
I dunno about you guys, but I have not been in the forum since the end of the game yesterday, and I still feel sick to my stomach. I am, however, thinking that it will be good inspiration for game 6. The Wings have played very well, and very much deserved to win game 5 even though they didn't. I have a feeling you'll see their best game of the series thus far. What are you guys thinking about tomorrow? Has any of your anguish turned to the motivation side yet?

Well said!!!! lol nut'n but love bro!

I am excited about Bert's future. I thought last night was his best game in a Red Wings uniform. He is getting stronger and stronger as time goes on. What did you think of his game (speed, hitting, play with and away from the puck)? Other than the crappy turnover a minute into the game that directly led to the Ducks first goal, I thought he was pretty good.

I don't know if this link has been posted yet, but if you listen to the audio from Scott Neidermeyer, he sounds like he is going to cry because Pronger might be suspended..... He also almost tells the media how irritating Holmstrom is to play against, then catches himself and changes his answer....... http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/homep...cle_1697049.php

I also like the part where Neidermeyer says "Maybe you should talk to Holmstrom," insinuating that he is somehow responsible for throwing his head in the way of Pronger's elbow....lol I also like the part where Neidermeyer says "Maybe you should talk to Holmstrom," insinuating that he is somehow responsible for throwing his head in the way of Pronger's elbow....lol
