Probably... it's a pre-season game. No need for heroics.

So is it "Hose-a" or "Hoss-a"? The Leaf's radio guy keeps saying "Hoss-a", but it sounds like it may be due to his Canadian accent.

Radio guys said that Holland and Stevie appeared to be headed to the locker room.

Radio dude thought it was near the orbital bone.

Said it was a deflection in front of the net.

See http://msn.foxsports.com/id/8499044 Last year the NHL offered Center Ice Online free during the preseason, but it appears that they aren't doing it again this season... bummer. Anyone have any idea if anyone else will be streaming?

I doubt it... my guess is that the Wings office is holding out on these tickets. My guess is we'll see a replay of the Stevie Y. retirement night. They'll use a ton of "Banner Night" tickets as carrots to buy pricey packages.

I don't know about the Opener, but I wouldn't be too worried about missing the "pre-sale". In past years the pre-sale hasn't been too much to get excited about. They only release a limited amount of tickets for the pre-sale and in past years I've found that you can get BETTER seats if you wait for the general sale when they basically throw open the remaining inventory. This was the last straw for me not renewing my LGW membership. I jumped on the pre-sale when I got the code and then was ticked when I looked when the general sale went live and I could have gotten tickets several rows closer and not in the corner! As for the Opener, I was there for Game 2, so that's good enough for me!

Holmstrom started his 2nd year with the Red Wings wearing #15, but switched to #96 when the Wings acquired Dmitri Mironov who took the #15.

It's not just when he scores goals... that fecal-eating grin of his that he always seems to be wearing is just so darn infectious!!!

Me thinks someone, like an Avs fan, was having a little fun with Wiki's open editing feature!

About the only thing that's likely certain is that the first sale of regular season tickets will be in September. The only question is "How much of the season will go on sale initially?" Most years they only put the first few months worth of games on sale at first (Oct-Dec), but they may very well use the "banner night" night game like they did the "Stevie Y Night" game and require non-season ticket holders to purchase a number of single game tickets (last time it was 10). In order to do that, they had to put all of the season on sale at one time that September. As for the Winter Classic, who knows... I don't know how it was done last time. I don't know if it'll be considered a Hawk's "home game" and they'll control the tickets, or if the NHL will give both teams equal allotments (if so, I assume season ticket holders will be priority), or if the event will be considered an "NHL" run game and it'll be a free for all on Ticketmaster. The one thing I recall about the Buffalo game is that it was one of those 60 second Ticketmaster sellouts.

I liked Stefan Liv's mask that had "The Production Line" on it..

I watched right to the very end of the post game feed very late as Ken and Mickey signed off after the Cup win. Daniels wrapped things up by paying tribute to the perseverance of Redmond and said something like "You people have no idea of the personal struggles that Mickey has had to wrestle with to be able to cover these playoffs." Mickey just smiled and really didn't comment. I hope he's fully recovered, but Ken made it sound like he's not out of the woods yet. It kind of spooked me.

Behind the Scenes look of Wings Championship DVD

The "Wireless Practice" is probably the best. The "Who farted?" section is hilarious. I can show it to my wife and say "See, look! I'm normal for a guy!" BTW, thanks for the tip... I got the last one on the shelf! -
The Edge "2.0" jerseys were brought out about a 1/3 the way through the season last year to address the player complaints. Basically what was done was the back panel of fabric was replaced with the air-knit material used in the pre-Edge jerseys. This added some "breath-ability" back into the sweaters. The orginal jerseys were not withdrawn from use, but the 2.0 jerseys were made available at player request. It's understood that the vast majority of players opted for "Plan B".

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." If I'm not mistaken, we were a "lock" in 2000-2001 too...

I spent some time browsing the Pens boards yesterday. While there were people that "understood" the revolving door that's been getting a lot of use at Mellon at late, there was also a heck of a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth!!!

They filed for arbitration.

Tampa Bay is going on quite the shopping spree! Wow.

I wondered why suddenly my performance picked up!! Actually at the time I had no idea whose gloves they were or who Helm was. They have "43" written in Sharpie on the cuffs and were sold as "Miscellaneous". After I got home I did some research and found that it was Helm was had worn the "43" at the time.

I collect "game worns", and in that hobby the more "hammered" a jersey is the more it adds to the value. Also, getting the jersey signed on the material may actually lower its value. The idea is to preserve the jersey as it was used. Collectors will actually go out of their way to remove the Sharpie signatures from the material. If you want it signed, the "best" place is on the fight strap.

I heard Michael Patrick Shiels say on the radio this AM that Stanley will be on display in the Capitol rotunda in Lansing tomorrow (25-Jun) afternoon with Chris Ilitch in tow.

Last year the entrance for the sale was the "Olympia Club" entrance. From there you rode the elevator to the concourse. The sale was set up just past the Gordie Howe statue.

I'll be visiting my parents in Indiana that day... and for the sake of my bank balance, it's probably a good thing!
