There's unlikely... and then there's miraculous!

I stopped reading there.

Agreed... In Game 5 the Wings started committing some frustration penalties that killed any chance of getting their mojo back. The crosscheck by Homer immediately after his near-miss really stood out as an example of this.

I'd recommend having your D take the puck away from our forwards as much as possible, for starters... Our worst enemy usually appears to be ourselves... At times (like in Game 5 vs. Stars) the Wings looked like they had concrete in their boots and had a real lack of energy). Dallas also seemed to give the Wings some fits by getting their sticks out there and disrupting the Wings' puck control game.

Is that Joe Satriani on the sound track? Nicely done by the way... Just right and not over the top!

I'd like to roll out the mat to the Pens fans too.... It's nice to have some rational folks from the other side to commiserate with. I think it'll be a good match up, but not surprisingly I'm optimistic about the Wings' chances for many of the reasons already posted on this site. But at least the Pens are a fairly likable lot. Worst case, if the Wings happen to lose then I'll get to see a local kid (Adam Hall) win and my sons' will get to see the first player from the youth league they now play in raise the cup! But I don't think it's going to happen. Game on...

...and another one bites the dust!!!

If you bring in a point-n-shoot, they won't give it a second thought. If you bring in a SLR, about 1/2 the time they will actually look at the lens to see if it's under 80mm.

I made the mistake of buying a 2006 Playoffs T-shirt right after they won Game 1 against Edmonton.... I won't make that mistake again.

We like the Dearborn Best Western when we stay overnight after a Wings game. It's about 10 minutes from JLA and right on I-94.
-
The more the experts underestimate the Wings, the better in my opinion!!!
-
Just wonderful.... I have a ticket available to me that's for Game 1, but I have to work at the Indy 500 on Sunday. I don't think I can swing Game 1. A Saturday afternoon or a Friday evening game would have worked great. Curses!!!
-
Oh no... We're doomed! Doomed I say!!!
-
My guess is that it was a Wings fan that decided to leave an early "calling card" for the Pens!!!
-
Money quote: I think the Wings getting a little ticked-off now might be a good thing.

WKZO (590 AM) used to be owned by John Fetzer, who also used to own the Tigers before he sold them to Tom Monohan (sp). As such, WKZO always carries the Tigers over other sporting events. The Tigers play the Royals tonight at 7:50, so it's safe to way that you'll need to find another station.
-
It "worked" wonderfully for Game 3, so I'll say it again.... A win tonight would break a franchise record of 9 wins in a row (regular or playoffs), and the Wings don't seem to like breaking such records, so I'm saying an "L" for tonight. Plus, we're fugitives from the Law of Averages at this point.
-
Sounds like a good plan... Give the guy some rest. He's earned it.
-
The Wings are still "waiting on results" for the tests performed.

I loved how Versus started the game highlights video... They showed the Stars coming out on to the ice while the pre-game light effects and such were shining on the rink and the voice-over went (paraphrased): "Well, the Stars were on the home ice in Dallas tonight, but unfortunately for them there were also Red Wings on the ice!"
-
DallasStars, thanks for the kind words. That must have been rough to watch tonight. Well, it's nice to see the Wings improve in that category. At one point in the season we led the NHL in coughing up SHG's.... three in one game to boot (was it to you guys?)!

All Your Goalie Are Belong To Us!!!
-
I hope I'm dead wrong, but I think tonight's going to be an L..... A win would set a franchise record for consecutive playoff wins, and as we've repeatedly seen in recent years they walk right up a such consecutive win records and then cough up a turkey!

If Osgood had actually done what you describe, the result would have been different. He would have effectively "clotheslined" Ribiero if the contact was that hard on that location. As stated, the most likely place Osgood's high stick (people are mistaking saying that he "butt-ended" Ribiero) hit him was in the upper chest/shoulder region and the fact that Ribiero appears to have opted for a "***-for-tat" hit in the same general location would seem to support that ("Here, see if YOU like getting hit there with a stick!")
