I don't play organized hockey because I only learned to skate 3 years ago, but every Wednesday iplay pick up hockey with the same bunch of guys , back in July of 2004 after three painful months of gaining confidence on my skates and trying to control the puck without keeping my head down, I finally had great shot on net with the goal pulled all the way to the left side and i missed it by a FOOT! I thought "DAMN, DAMN, DAMN I won't get another oppurtinity that easy again!!" Not 5 minutes later I was skating through the crease ( mostly trying to just get out of the way ) and BAM! The puck was on my stick, and I flipped it right over the goalie's leg! It's stupid because it's only pick up hockey, but I still have the puck!

Yeah but aren't the Russian players greedy simply because the FEAR THE RUSSIAN MAFIA?? That being said, I hope they find a way to keep both Zetterberg AND Datsyuk they are crazy-good together!!

Wow, I was thinking about starting a thread like this on my way into work this morning. That poor kid, what's he gotta do to get his 1st NHL win? I hope he doesn't get sent back to GR without getting one, that would truly suck...

Yeah, I'm not THAT old, but I seem to remember when the changed to dark at home, Mickey Redmond saying during one the broadcasts that it was just like how it used to be....

Tradition was violated when the NHL adopted the point for an overtime loss, when the league expanded from six teams and when they started having the home team wear the colored jerseys. Actually if I'm not mistaken , dating back to the O6 teams, the home team always wore dark jerseys, I don't know if that changed in the 60's , 70's or 80's but was just recently changed BACK a few years ago....

I simply thought that it was an easier way to keep track of standings due to the high number of ties in the "old days", doesn't pro soccer use a point based system as well? Have no fear though, the point system is a "tradition" of the NHL, which means that Bettman will do away with it soon enough!

I was at a Party, my best freind anticipating what a HUGE DEAL it could be, invited over 30 people to his house since Game 4 was on a Saturday night, and it was 80 some-odd degrees out. He took his TV and set it up in front of his garage in the back yard, and cranked the stereo up so we could hear better. It was quite an atmosphere, we had a pool on who was gonna score 1st, lot's and lot's of drinks and food. Youn could just feel the electricyty in the air. It was very, VERY emtional when we finally won, I don't think I've ever seen that many people hug each other when it wasn't a wedding or New Year's Eve. Very cool, my freind had the exact same type of party again in 2002 when the Wings won..... My name's Scott
