That was a childish thing to say by Ovechkin and I wish he would have handled it more professional but you have to give him some slack also and not read too much into it. Everybody say stupid things sometimes, especially a 24 year old kid. He will probably learn and mature and become more "robot" to the media. He is allowed to make a few mistakes and say a few stupid things while he develops dont you think? I just don't think this is a big deal. Maybe I'm too biased when it comes to ovechkin..

hmmm you mentioned crosby in a thread about ovechkin. thread should be derailed and turned into a flame fest before the end of page 2 anyway, i love ovechkin and his off ice personality and thinks he's really entertaing. if someone compiled all his interviews and off ice incidents and make a highlight pack of it it would be hilarious dont you think? if ovechkin agrees to do an interview and during it gets a really private question which he do not want to answer, he is dumb? how can you blame him that he do not want to talk about the death of his brother with a camera and mic shoved in his face? regarding the knee on knee incident...... i think he has gotten a bit defensive about all this, think about it: all of a sudden his play gets critized from everybody and everywhere. this is a 60 goal scorer and one of the best player in the world since he entered the league and he knows it. imagine if you were the best player in the world and got a bit too hot and were involved in a couple of incidents like this. now all of a sudden your girl friend and her cousin is going to tell you what to change in your game. how would you react? would you get a bit defensive? i know i would! just sayin..

i think some of you are reading too much into this i have much trust in the team doctors and if they clear him to play in the nhl the injury is most likely fully healed. if it isnt, he will probably notice it in the 5 or so games he wanted to play before the olympics

my guess is that he'll sign a 1-year deal for ~ 5mil. maybe 4.5 if he feels old and slow..

i don't have any stats to back it up with but.... this has to be one of the most injury riddle seasons in a loong time? especially injuries to elite players booooooo!

i think the whistle is part of the tradition and part of the sport and should be kept. it's one of those things you don't change. it's been that way from the begnning of the sport, and (i think) is that way in all of sports which have a ref on the field. i really don't want to see an electronic buzzer device, but that's me. what i WOULD like to see is more competence and better procedures (maybe some tuning of the rules, better reviewing abilites etc). and in situations like this, the war room should be able to override the refs decision.

what's the logic in this? i really don't understand. to me as anyone who watches the replay you can CLEARLY hear the whistle blows AFTER the puck is IN the goal. and its not milli seconds, its 1-3 seconds after. What can possibly be the reasoning behind this? Seriously. A monkey revieweing that goal would judge it a good goal
