he got alot more ice time than filatov and they still believed in him all season (well he was a hyped 1st overall pick so its hard to compare). what happend after half the season? he blossomed.. if filatov would have gotten a bigger role who says that would not have happend to him too? i'm definately not an expert but i just think they might have turn down filatov a bit too much.. he's even been a healthy scratch a couple of games

that is sort of what i suspected the reason was.. he seems like a down to earth guy, no drama and everyone seems to agree. i gained a bit of respect to filatov after reading that interview i just wish hitchcock would have given him more of a oppurtunity to prove himself and use his offensive abilities on a more critical role on the team. doesent it seem a bit strange for you guys that a first rounder like filatov is getting close to no ice time and get little confidence from the coach? i hope he develops in russia and that he come back and make an impact

bjorkloven (team who he scored on) is my team, which i go to all of their home games. they stink but it's the only hockey i get and they've grown on me alot during the years the goal was really sweet but the celebration overshadow it

I see.. Shouldnt he get more ice time then that or do the jackets go by the philosophy "prove yourself first, then get ice time"? He is only 19 years old but he IS a 6th overall pick and has been here soon 2 years..

I've been thinking about filatov recently and wondering why he doesent put up more points (he has 2 points in 12 games). If I remember correctly he had a hat trick last season in his first? game. Is he stuck on the third/fourth line with minimal ice time or is it just because he is so young and not ready or is it hitchcock or the organization doing something wrong?

I'd be extremely surprised is this site becomes an issue of the IOC

I live in Umeå, maybe we should hook up sometime and watch a modo game and drink some beers. I just read the news and it made me so happy! I only live an hour from Örnsköldsvik (Modo home town) and gets the oppurtunity to see forsberg and naslund together is like a wet dream come true! I know I know they are far from prime but still! I never got to see them play in the nhl so this feels like a second chance for me, i'll make sure to go to as many games i can before they retire

pretty much agreed with this post and guys with the point system there is at the moment, you have to agree that the race for a playoff spot at the end of every season is very exciting and brings out great hockey i'm not sure what/how i would change things.. i would probably keep it the way it is now. maybe extend the OT to 10 minutes

Hi! A bit surprised there were no thread about LGW's fantasy hockey league. (at least i didnt find any) So.. Who is who and how's your team doing so far? Anyone been hit hard by injuries yet? My team is doing well! Currently #2. Crosby is not producing at the rate I thought he would but he will pick it up and he's still of course one of my most valuable players. Gaborik is probably my most valuable player atm tho, i just hope he doesent get injured long time If no one has anything against it I would like to post team managers with their respective LGW nickname in this post. 11.. ugh! i had 6/6 on friday but saturday was terrible

I still remember the loss against them in the first nhl game last season. this team was so hyped coming from a stanley cup victory and adding a player like hossa. then BAM - outplayed and beaten by the leafs. not that it was a huge deal but that game got stuck in my mind..

that's a killer and i hope it's not like that the mental aspect of the game is huge and he needs to have his eye on the prize all the time. talent and practise can only get you so far, if the focus and mentality is not there - it's a big issue let's see how it turns out..

It's in the beard! it's awesome to see him on fire like this again. 9 points in his last 3 speaks for itself. The chemistry in the whole team has just been great lately. Him and cleary are clicking really well
