gcom007 Conklin's stats are inflated because he's got quite a few shutouts against junk teams and started in some games where the team played completely up to their potential. He's had plenty of stinker games too and a boatload of 3-4 goal games. Go look at the game log. It's not near as pretty consistently as his stats suggest. And I'm not saying Osgood's stats or game by games should thrill you this season by any stretch. But the fact that anyone thinks that going with a totally unproven guy like Conklin with inconsistent numbers is infinitely better off than going with a guy having a shaky season who won his second Cup 9 months ago is out of their minds. I'm not saying Osgood is playing well, but Conklin is absolutely not playing well enough to warrant any sort of elevated confidence in him. Neither goalie has played great this year the whole way through. But again... More so, neither goalie has gotten much help and heaven knows what team will show up to play in front of them any given night. The MORON CLUB's members are in full force again

The part highlited you describe, is called "Spin-Doctoring" and it goes on way too much on these forums---this is why some people are called MORONS--NOT because they like Osgood but because of spin-doctoring posts and twisting facts and other total BS! This thread has turned into a Ozzy discussion because of pure SPIN-DOCTORING of something I said earlier--NO ONE--i'll repeat--NO ONE started bashing Ozzy in this thread, the spin doctors showed up and tried to turn this into an Ozzie discussion with their total distortion of what other people were saying before.

I agree totally and have been saying this for a while!! Leino is looking like the real deal out there and is getting better every game and Helm is like a nuclear power plant on skates with all the energy he is bringing to the game!

just for the record-- The red wings are the ONLY team in the NHL this year, that doesnt have the 2nd game of back to back night games on home ice, EVERY 2nd game of a 2 games in 2 nights is on the road, 29 other teams have a few games that the 2nd game is at home--NOT DETROIT!!

Just for the record, Goalie Leg pads were no more than 10 inches wide back in the Good ole days! then they ballooned to 12+ inches wide in the 90's, after the lock-out they were reduced to 11 inches wide--thats where we are at now.
