The irony being you highlighted your weakness. We have to stop two guys. You went 6 with the Flyers and 7 with the Caps, OK teams at best and are finally cruising against the spent Canes. Our best O player as you accurately point out has 9 points and yet we're 11-4 in the playoffs with 3/4 losses against the Anaheim Giants. Why do you think Hossa came here? Because he thinks Crosby and Malkin can outscore a TEAM when you get out of the East and have to play one? Where would the Pens be if Malkin OR Crosby had 9 points? I'll give you a hint, the remote control would be in easy reach...

Quenneville's having the worst series an NHL head coach has ever had identifying bad calls... I'll never get whining as a motivational tool. We got robbed big for example on Hossa's goal on the Ducks and the call on Kronwell's textbook clean hit, and then it being called a MAJOR. It balances out. And that it was the worst call is pathetic because clearly the refs at that point were trying to cool things down and he skates in and escalates it. He set himself up for it, negating that it could possibly be the "worst" call. Maybe it wasn't a fair call on him personally, but it was fair to hit the Hawks with one at that point. And eventually the refs gave up on calling them all. We could have played the third period on power play.

I would say more they're spent then mailing it in. Back to back 7 game series w/o home ice against probably the best two teams in the East will do that. They had a good run, they have nothing left in the tank.

Well, you have to admit that if we dumped players any time they are not achieving any armchair fan's individual statistic expectations for any period of time greater then one game when it's a team game and we're winning then we'd have fewer slackers on the team. I totally agree. I'm a huge Leino fan already. But it's his first year over here. I don't see how he's going to go in the playoffs and make a huge impact at this point. I'd love to see him stick with the Wings next year and be ready for playoffs. It's hard to believe his total game is ready at this point though to be much of a playoff impact.
