What's preposterous is the assumption there is any chance it will be. Conservatively it will double in nine years. If we double your $40M assumption for forwards, we have $80M they still take up roughly $20M leaving $60M to sign the rest. This is in fact Holland's plan and not an accident.

That's true, but Crosby's +/- isn't impressive despite the massive number of points he has. Maybe because he's waiting for the glory goals and individual stats over team play. I know you didn't say the Wings weren't good because we went 7 against the Ducks, you said we were vulnerable. I said the Penguins weren't good because while we went 7 against a great team and recent Cup winner, The Pens went to six and seven against two teams that are mediocre at best. After questioning my reading ability, you fail to provide any example I wasn't reading correctly. What does that say about YOUR reading ability if that's where you want to go? I am agreeing a great team like the Ducks could beat us, that doesn't lead to your conclusion a mediocre team like the Penguins can.

That you want 6 against the Flyers and seven against the CAPITOLS shows you aren't that good. If we put the Hawks away in 5 we will have decisively beaten two teams we should have beaten. If you beat the Canes in the next game or two, you couldn't beat a team decisively until they were spent from back to back seven game series the other team had home advantage for.
