We have relatively the same team as in '08 ... when dats and z were paired together and dominated. I know that the last few years they havent been so dynamic when put together for brief periods, however I think that if there is an effort to have them on the top line from the start - with about a 15 game trial/gelling period, the wings will be a better team. I think the 2nd line can hold its own, while providing a top line that can shut down opposing top lines as well as adding offense. What do you think?

I thought it would be interesting to keep track of which NHL team is scoring the most goals in these olympics. I'm too lazy to look it all up, but I was thinking the Red Wings should be up there: Raf - 4 , Franzen, Datsyuk, Filpulla...

stevie y said it best " just when you think one is better, the other does something that makes you unsure again" or something along those lines. although it has been proven that datsyuk can carry a line by himself consistently. i wonder what would happen if pav and hank switced lines? because i sometimes think pavs unorthodox vision and passing may not be best with hossa, and that hossa might gel better with Z.

more upside than helm or leino? he has proven to be injury prone? no offensive ability? hes no enforcer?

id take hossa over sundin, but s*** that is sweet that both are rumored to detroit. if we get hossa, and sundin wont be moved - incredible since no other team gets stronger.
