Red Wings forward Kyle Calder will be benched for Game 3 on Tuesday in favor of Tomas Kopecky. Calder hasn’t seen much ice time in the first two games against Anaheim, playing only 7:57 minutes in the first two games of the Western Conference finals. He has only one point this postseason, an assist in Game 5 against Calgary in the first round of the playoffs. Kopecky hasn’t played since Dec. 14, when he suffered a broken collarbone against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Wings should at least split in Anaheim, then we are in a good shape. Lets keep this way - vs Calgary 4-2, vs San Jose 4-2, vs Anaheim 4-2...

The National Hockey League has selected the 16 officials who will work the conference final round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with veteran officials leading the way. Among the eight referees who will receive third round assignments are Don Koharski and Bill McCreary, both of whom have more than 20 years experience. McCreary has worked in every Stanley Cup final series since 1994, while Koharski has been a referee since 1977.
