Wing-in-avs-town

The thing I've learned is when you go to a game, pick your battles wisely. Really ascess the people around you, and you'll figure out who you can banter back and forth with, and who you can't. Good nature ribbing is fun, and all part of the experience, but some will take it too far. Don't take on all challengers, you can't win them all. Remember, you are the minority. If you keep your cool, the knuckleheads will usually make a complete ass of themselves, and the home crowd will turn on them. This comes from 12 years experience from going to games in Denver. My twins got a taste of the "playoff" experience @ the can Tuesday night, and they learned a lot! My 12 year old and I are waiting in line to take a leak, and this guy is busting on him. "Oh look, Its- Yzer-woman", Redwings suck! look he's even wearing a tigers hat, what a bunch of losers" Etc... after we talk back and forth to each other about what a jerk this guy is being, Jeremy (my son) turns around and says " The last time I checked, the Red-wings are still winning, again, and the tigers have a better record than the Rockies. If you really what to give me crap, at least talk about the Lions, they really do suck, and probably always will." To which everyone in the restroom cheers and gives him a round of applause, and just gives it to that guy. A proud "father" moment, I've taught him well. I

He's one of the few guys around here that knows what he's talking about, plus he's pretty damn funny! He makes around the horn worth watching. It's been shocking, but all of the local media have been nothing but complementary towards the Wings this series. Everyone knows the Avs are outmatched, and really not many excusses flying around. Plus, There's lots of talk about Sakic retiring (which I think will not happen), so everyones all ready talking about next year.

After putting up with all the **** around here the last 12 years, I wouldn't be surprised if a few clowns actually do this. On a side note: It's snowing pretty damn hard right now!

Lets face it, Crosby is the poster child of the "new" NHL. He is great player and will be for his entire career. IMO , AO is a better overall talent, but Sid has more support around him. He is a marketing "dream" of the NHL, and if the league has any hopes of reaching the next level, he's one of the main pieces to get there. Lets just hope they don't screw that up too.

Going to the game tonight, I can't fricken wait. This should be the most intense game of the series, wings gotta weather the storm early, then take control. An early goal would be HUGE! Nothing like the "Lets go Red Wings" chant at the old Pepsi Center.

The ice @ Lowry is now called "Big Bear" ice arena. I hope they're not practicing there, it's a dump! My guess would be D.U. since its close, and they have two sheets.
